Donamar House

Kristina is the undisputed highlight of Donamar House. She and Gareth have created a welcoming home on a hill with gorgeous views of the valley below. But it is Kristina's personality, work ethic, and wealth of information that make it hard to know if we would have liked Donegal as much as we did if we had stayed anywhere else. I'm glad we don't have to find out. She made delicious breakfasts too. Her natural hostess nature that set this experience apart for us. It probably didn't hurt that the weather was delightful for our stay, but I'm sure that even if it isn't when you travel there, you will love being their guests. They're like the family you wish you had.

When we where booking Donamar House B&B the reviews we read where fantastic and after visiting can say the experience lived up to all our expectations. Christina & Gavin made us so welcome throughout our whole stay and went the extra mile to ensure we had a lovely time. Christina was so helpful in taking her time to give us great ideas on where to visit in Donegal. A lovely touch was on arrival Christina brought us home made shortcakes in the shape of a shamrock and also left us a hand written card with a lovely message welcoming us to the Donamar House, a lovely personal touch. Donamar House is a modern, clean, B&B set in a lovely location looking over a beautiful part of Donegal. The views where amazing. Breakfast had everything you could ever want, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, tea, coffee, fruit juice and a beautiful cooked breakfast made with lovely locally sourced products. I mentioned one morning our son was missing his pancakes and Christina went out of her way to get him some for his breakfast the next morning. These little touches make all the difference when you are on holday. I would have no hesitation in recommending Donamar House. Donamar House has a nice warm feeling as soon as you arrive and are met by the owner, She invited us in and without any fuss shower us to our room, a room with a view, it was spectacular, the breakfast was cooked fresh and hot, there was no shortage of choice. I would recommend this place if you are touring, staying in the ara climbing the numerous mountains in the vicinity.

Amazing views — you look out of the bedroom window and a canvas of the beautiful Irish topography appears! Clean, comfortable place with great hosts. Kristina and Gareth went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and worthwhile. If I ever return to County Donegal, I will definitely stay here again! Donamar House is within easy reach of Donegal and other places worth a visit.

Phenomenal home nestled in the countryside with lovely hosts. Located just minutes from the near by town of Donegal (if you have young children please take them to the river/fairy walk) and approx 45 min to the breathtaking Slieve League. If you are headed to the Northwest of Ireland don’t miss out on staying here; you won’t regret it! The view alone is worth every penny.

The huge picture window view from our bedroom alone was enough to make our trip! Donamar House is a real gem, the perfect balance between peaceful retreat and minutes away from the good old Irish craic of Donegal town centre. We experienced a very warm welcome, fantastic breakfasts and felt instantly at home. We have already booked our return visit!
