Very good value for money, one night with dinner and breakfast.

Myself and my family went to Caseys bar and bistro today, the worst service EVER. (although we waited for over 40 minutes and got no service) this was after asking several VERY RUDE members of staff, the last being what seemed like the manager, she was so rude and unpleasent, we just got up and walked out. untrained, useless rude staff from the bar to the restaraunt. avoid this place at all costs!

The place is a dive. There was dead flys on the tea and coffee tray in the room. The bath leaked through the wall into the room making the hole room stink of damp. And then to top it all off the windows in the place are about 60 years old and hold no heat and don't lock. The rad was undersized for the room there for the hole weekend the room was freezing I couldn't even take my jacket off to relax. Stear well clear off this place or honestly there is a hostel up the road that will probably be warmer and friendlier. Anyway I won't be back here again. And BTW I stayed in the bridal sweet think it be the best room well if that's the best I don't wanna see the rest. Feels like I was scammed out of my money.

My boyfriend and I had booked to stay for the October bank holiday weekend and unfortunately halfway through a hike on the Saturday he tore several tendons in his ankle and by the time we made it back is was quite painful and swollen. The staff was fantastic, found us extra pillows, loads of ice, a bucket (for the ice), and even sent up one of the staff members who'd previously had a similar injury to make sure we were doing ok. We had to check out a day early to go to A&E and it was no issue at all, the receptionist even asked if we needed directions or any information for health services nearby. They also didn't charge us for the last night we were meant to stay. Not the best turn of the weekend but we're thankful the staff was so accommodating. We'll definitely be back at some point for another stay — minus the hike.

The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that our stay wasn’t long enough! We stayed for one night and from the very minute we walked in the doors I immediately loved it. I loved the old style feeling of it, the lady on reception was very helpful and friendly, the staff on duty while we had our dinner were helpful and friendly. The location is something like a little piece of heaven on earth. I couldn’t say enough good things about it and I cannot wait to stay again. I didn’t want to leave. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere.

Hotel itself is lovely and staff are nice and helpful but unfortunately we had to keep requesting basics for the room, no towels, no milk and no tea, the evening meal was nice very basic menu but breakfast was the worst I've ever had it would stop me from returning.

Can not recommend this hotel enough. We had our wedding reception here back in 2005 and decided to stay over again for our 15th anniversary. The service right from the start was 110% and could not have been better. The staff were so friendly and helpful while the food was delicious in a beautiful surrounding. I have to say the stay could not have been better and we would not change a thing. It’s a credit to the hard working staff and management. If you are reading this and are nervous about staying somewhere in the current climate you will have your mind put as ease here as it’s spotless and well organised. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you Glendalough Hotel.

Lovely location. Room was not up to scratch. Simple things plugs at the bedside, TV covering the mirror. Food ok but overpriced service is the worst ive experienced. Could have been poisoned with the underdone eggs and numerous times the staff had to be called for basic things teabags butter. Unfortunately the location is all it has going for it.

Great for what it is, a cheap hostel with basic dormitory accommodation. The valley nearby is spectacular and there are brilliant walks from the hostel. Bit far from any food shopping though, so bring all you need. And if you want luxury… don't come to a hostel. Having said this, beds were comfy enough. Beware the Irish midges in the summer…

Lovely staff. Great self service area. Clean rooms. Beds very hard but that's expected in a hostel. Showers not great.

Really nice my daughter came back from an overnightstay and had a excellent reception and lovely staff. Lots of room to play.

Check in was easy and staff helpful. Price for a nigh 18€ without breakfast. Kitchen is well equipped and free to use. There is a Wending coffee machine. But beds are rock-hard, the multi bed room was smelly even after I opened the windows for a a decent amount of time. There was a big night light and some slightly noisy machine running in front of our window so the room didnt get dark enough to fall asleep well… Toilets and bathroom were not clean. Probably wont come back for another night. Sorry.

Location was perfect. Access to hotel, shops, and all hiking trails. Room was spacious and clean. Service was helpful and nice. Kitchen had very few supplies besides utensils and cookware so come prepared.

The showers are small, standing room only. The food was not exactly what I wanted but everyone I was with really enjoyed it. The staff was very accommodating.

The kitchen was very dirty and the tables and floors were full of crumbles and dirt. The covers of the beds were dirty too. The hostel provides you with white clean sheets and pillow covers and you have to make the bed yourself. The blue fitted sheet is the same at all times (I hope they clean them sometimes, 3 of the 7 beds in thw room I slept had stains on them). There were more staff than guests the day I was there. The sofas close to the entrance smelt very bad. The Spanish girl at reception was friendly and explained us what to see in Glendalough. There were also lots of movies and books and a room with tv. I went to this hostel thinking I would find a good vibe and service but I didn't find that. I find that paying 23 euros for a night on this hostel is very dear if you compare with other hostels or even airbnb for the same price (sharing with a friend) and better hygiene and conditions. I read lots of good reviews about this place online. Maybe I just chose a bad weekend but I wouldn't repeat the experience there even the location is perfect to explore Wicklow mountains.

We went in March to Glendalough and booked two beds in a dorm. The staff seemed nice, great kitchen were you can make your own food. It was close to the hikes. We were in a room with six beds, but we were the only ones there. We were tired and wanted to go sleep early, because we had to go up early next day. We went to sleep, but 1'clock four younger people came into the room talking, bringing beers and they were drunk. Apparently they had been to a festival near by. We told them that we had to go up early in the morning and they said that they would be quiet. BUT they didn't respect it. They talked in the room, drank beers, smoked, turn of and on the light all the time, went out and into the room all the time. We asked them to be quiet and turned of the lights, but they didn't do it. It was unpleasant experience. We could here music from another rooms, people talking and drinking in the hallway. We didn't sleep before 5'clock. We couldn't wait to come away. We went up at 6.30. People were still partying and drinking. We didn't see any staff. Sorry, but this is not okay, it is the staff's responsibility that this doesn't happen. If we knew people would be partying we wouldn't book this hostel.

Price/performance Not so good, some renovation worthy.

I worked there for 1 month in 2007. Went back several times, always a pleasure staying there. The location is unbeatable aka very close to the 2 lakes and 5min walk to an Irish pub. I recommend hiking the 'White Walk' which will take you thru breathtaking secenery on top of mountains where you will be able to see a wide variety of fauna and flaura. It's a hard trek as it involves climbing theu a well-maintained path but the views along the way are truy worth it. Treat yourself to a pint of Guinness as a reward after the trek!

Very clean rooms. Price are acceptable. Very comfortable location if gonne hiking. Friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi but works only in the public area. Was a little bit uncomfortable.

It might just be me, but if I book for two people, I expect them to be able to stay in the same room. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this hostel. Furthermore, the beds were okay but the toilet kept running all night, everything was constantly noisy and the door to the room could only be closed by slamming. But hey, breakfast was fine and it was cheap.

Abbiamo soggiornato in una camera quadrupla con bagno. La camera era sufficientemente spaziosa, ma necessiterebbe di una pulizia un po' più accurata e qualche presa in più. Oltre alla possibilità di avere la propria lampada. La connessione Wi-Fi decisamente da potenziare. La cucina a disposizione era ben fornita e molto utile, nella zona infatti non ci sono molti ristoranti economici. Il posto è immerso nella natura e vicinissimo al sito monastico.

Great location right in the heart of Glendalough — near the Monastic settlement, trails and lakes. So nice to be able to explore after tourists go home and things quiet down. Free parking available. Free Wi-Fi, but it works best in the public areas. Our room had bunk beds, was in the ground floor, and was a corner view to green plants outside. Bedding isn't changed each day so they provide you with clean white pillow cases and a sheet to use as a top layer. Also will need to rent towels for a couple Euros of you don't have your own. Breakfast available but for an additional fee depending on how big of breakfast you want.

Hostel located in isolated Irish countryside. All amenities are great and prices are very good. The beds were slightly squeekey so if anyone moved the wolę room could hear it.

Clean place, helpful staff, catering was very useful and situated near a beautiful area, very good experience for a good price.

The "continental breakfast" that you can buy for €5 is a joke. You get toast, butter, 1 type of jam, some cheap cereals, milk and coffee. Definitely not worth the money.

Great place for backpacker, "hikers" and travelers.

Glendalough is an amazing place. It has several trails to explore and after a few hours of walking nothing better than to rest in a very comfortable place! In addition to a great location (just 15 minutes walking to the information center where is the starting point for all trails), the hostel has a very good infrastructure and friendly people.

With € 10 is better. Is in the midst of greenery and is a virtue and there are many trails but the livability of the rooms is uncomfortable to stay several days, electrical outlets are two in dormitories of 4, the shower is a button, the mattresses of beds are low quality, is there is a minimum of breakfast. The advice to hikers without scruples, Word of direction.
