Rock Farm Slane - Limehouse

We stayed at the campsite with our three children under 11. Gemma was a fantastic host — answered every question, always on hand to help and extremely welcoming. The site is a gem and ideal for family camping. Small with a playground and friendly animals (seeing the donkey and feeding chickens were a hit). Very good facilities, with hot water and a kitchen (handy to eat indoors when the weather turned). Easy commute to Dublin, Newgrange and Tara.

This camping was our first stop after arriving with the ferry in Ireland. We are from Germany and wanted to vist the sightseiing points aroud Drogheda like Monasterboice, Slane Castle… we travel with a VW Bus and stayed on the camping grond. It is a very nice and quiet place, nice landscape, you can walk to Slane castle and also into the village by foot. We were the only guests on the camping ground. We can recommend this place, staff was really friendly and helpful, anyway the kitchen beside the camping ground should be cleaned, it was quite dirty and really not well maintained.

I made an error when booking and booked the wrong date, when I arrived I realised my error however Gemma and her husband were really great about it and helped to accommodate myself & my son. They were both extremely pleasant to deal with and helpful.
The accommodation itself is excellent, I love the whole cottage theme and the accommodation itself was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed, was really happy with it.
I will definitely look forward to staying at Slane Farm Hostel again.

I went to Slane Farm House with a school I teach, we stayed for one night. The girls stayed upstairs and there was thousands of flys in the two rooms, myself and my colleagues spent an hour trying to get the flys out but they kept coming out of the lights and the cracks of the windows even though they were shut closed. We had to move the girls to the game room upstairs but then it was also swarmed with flys so they all slept in one room together with two in each bed. The beds also weren’t very clean. I will not be coming here again.

Great wee campsite just outside Slane town. Thank you to Gemma for a warm welcome and letting me use the hostel facilities as well. Would highly recommend. If you’re not a great planner like me and arriving late on your bike, make sure you have a bit of food with you, as no lights on the main road into town.

I actually get where the good and bad reviews are coming from. The courtyard outside the cottages is great for a large group together and the bathrooms in the cottage look recently renovated with powerful showers. However everything is a bit shabby without the chic. There were quite a few cobwebs and the carpet threadbare with a few cracked tiles. The location is great, the communal feeling fantastic but all a bit dated. Wouldn't stop me staying again though. Can't comment on the camping side of things.

We stayed 4 nights which was not planned in our trip. But our camper van broke down. The owners were perfect. They called a mechanic to repair it. We were able to be accommodated. They are incredibly kind. The place is bucolic not far from the sites to visit.
At your disposal you have a kitchen and a living room. Everything to feel good.

A lovely place to stay very family orientated with a lovely play area for kids superb friendly staff.

Best place to park your Motorhome in County Meath! Only 20 to park and 5 for electric, plus they let you dump your waste. Great kids playground and fairy walk. Thank you!

One of the worst campsites we have stayed on. Toilets and showers old, dirty and dated. Only two level pitches and the best one was taken. After trying to pitch away from the partially covered waste water point and could not get the van level even with ramps we gave up and backed up to the waste point. Did not use facilities used our own in the van. The campers kitchen is dingy, dirty and electrically unsafe. Could not park on the grass signs said not to and also too far from electric hook up point. Also still a steep slope. Had to leave payment at reception due to no one being around when we got there or when we left. Nowhere to empty black waste either. So if you have a motorhome or caravan don't go there. In all our years of motorhoming this ranks as the worst we have stayed on and at 25 euros a night it is quite honestly a rip off.

We stayed here at the time of the worst possible weather. But, the accommodation is excellent. The two people and the dog were very happy in one of the cottages. It was very roomy and clean, with excellent facilities. The owners were very helpful, telling us where we could walk our dog around the farm.
The only things that didn't seem right, was people parking outside of the cottages where you had picnic benches and where children could have been playing. Also, the donkey and goat need shelter. Which are both small things but did not ruin our time.
I would recommend it to anyone who needs a good base and will return if staying in the area again.

I have stayed in the cottages on two occasions befoe and they were superb but I was not expecting such a brilliant set up when I booked camping for Harry Styles. It was so well organised. Nothing was missing. Food, toilets, showers, bins all provided and all really good standard. The stewards/security were very friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere onside was just really chill. We were 3 mothers (whose first Slane experiences were as teenagers in the 90s 🙈) and our 3 daughters who's first Slane experience was this trip to Harry Styles. Slane Farm Hostel added so much to whole weekend. Absolutely wonderful, thank you so much.

WE WERE MEANT TO STAY HERE FOR 2 NIGHTS, WE STAYED ONE NIGHT AND CHECKED OUT! I WOULDNT STAY HERE IF I WAS GiVEN IT FOR FREE!
I booked this as a treat for my then 7 yr old son for his bday and before he returns to school next week, myself my husband and son. To say we were disappointed is a major understatement! The bedroom carpet was filthy and all stained, place hadn't been dusted in quite a while, dust everywhere, the black mould around the shower was disgusting, just ridiculous, never seen anything like it, the bathroom mat was all discoloured and stained, skirting boards were mouldy and dirty, the smell in the bathroom was musty and unpleasant, bed covers are about 20+ yrs old, a deep clean of the entire place wouldn't go astray! Went to have a shower there was no hot water, said it to a young girl working there and she said she would sort it. It wasn't sorted! not even lukewarm, had to have a quick wash, couldn't even wash my hair! A farm!? Ya call 4 chickens, 1 goat and 1 donkey a farm? As for the playground!? There's 2 things! A wooden climbing frame and slide which was ok and then the metal seesaw and swing that both have about 20+ coats of paint on them are rusty and are probably about 40+ yrs old and not great at all. Booking. Com states there's a games room, there's not! My son was looking forward to that, it also states that there's BBQ facilities! If you call a dirty small kettle BBQ in a corner BBQ facilities!

I won an overnight stay here last year on a Facebook competition. Finally used it this year and added an extra 2 nights. What a fantastic place would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Kids loved it.

What a fantastic place to stay in ones own motorhome? So quiet, clean, beautiful scenery, and such an emphasis on re cycling. M so impressed with this place.
