Most definitely lovely place to eat in staff realy friendly 2 I know Anne Marie and Finley 2 pure ladies all the others staff very nice too!

Mum and Dad checked in on 12th Sept 2019 staying overnight for a wedding the following day. They were treated like royalty. They booked a triple room and when the receptionist saw there was just the 2 of them, she immediately discounted the room rate. She sorted a taxi for them for the following day and overall made them feel so special. They were so impressed. There was copious amounts of food at breakfast and they even offered to send breakfast to my Mum in bed at no extra charge and after the allotted time. Thank you so much guys for making 2 pensioners so happy. Return visit is on the cards x.

Absolutely dreadful service, received on 6th August. I have tried to get some response from you privately without resorting to public shaming.
My husband and I came in at 18.30. We ordered two starters and two main courses as well as a couple of drinks. There was a family sitting just beside us at one of the tables and they ordered just before us. Two more families then came in after us. As the first family was being served their mains around 7.10ish, the waitress came up to us to apologise that we were being kept waiting as there had been a mix-up in the kitchen with the dockets. Our docket had been pushed back behind the two other family tables by mistake, so our meal was going to be delayed. She offered us a complimentary drink and desert for the inconvenience which was fine by us as we had assumed that our meal was now progressing through the kitchen. Four young men then arrived and were seated at the next high table behind us, followed by another couple. About 10 mins later, our starters arrived and were very nice. However, by 8.05pm our mains still had not arrived. The four guys behind us had now had their mains, as had the couple who came in after them. The waitress had not come near us since our starters were served, the bar man had taken away the empty plates – I’m guessing that the waitress (who was completely rushed off her feet) was embarrassed at how bad the kitchen service was and just couldn’t face telling us that there was another delay.

Lovely food n very reasonable.

Nice wee hotel right in middle of town. Bar was nice, staff very friendly and helpful. Music not too loud, nice clientele. Very pricey for the food and drink though. Especially considering that it was basic choice and not in my opinion of a standard that should command the price we paid. Saying that it was very edible and well cooked served promptly and hot. I hail from Derry direction so maybe I'm being unrealistic about price as up our way we get better grub at half the price. Would still rate this place on the favourable side because the staff were very good.

We were in Oldcastle Hotel for lunch today and it was perfect. We just had sandwiches and tea but the excellent and very friendly barman made us feel like we were having the works. He was so attentive and nice and made us very welcome. My open brown soda with chicken and peppers was lovely and the bread was so fresh and really nice. Hubby had chicken and ham again it was so fresh. Lovely side salad with both. Our lovely barman offerd chips or other side's if we wanted. Plenty of tea and topped up readily — all in all a great experience. We will be back soon and will have dinner next time. Thank you the food and especially the welcome and the service were ten out of ten. Sorry I didn't get the barman's name.

We asked when would they start serving food, they said 4.30pm as it was just gone 4pm we thought this was ok. After purchasing a drink then found out it would be 6pm! This is the 2nd time we said we'd try it, 1st time the food wasn't great and the service was very slow. We waited over half an hour to even place our order.

Spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms. Beautifully made beds. Super-friendly and welcoming staff. A very relaxing experience.

Excellent quality rooms with excellent facilities. The restaurant menu was varied and all our meals were cooked by the chef to the highest standard. The staff were amazing and looked after us like family, Johnjo in particular needs a special mention. We would highly recommend the Oldcastle House Hotel for a holiday.

Brought the family for a Sunday meal. Food and staff was top class. First visit since it reopened and the place is lively and trendy. Definitely returning.

We held a function upstairs for our u12girls when they won the final last weekend. The staff could not have done anymore for us and not to mention sponsored the food for the girls and also helped out with a raffle prizes. They really got behind the team for Oldcastle ladies so huge thank you to Tommy and Staff. Food is second to none and the whole team really enjoyed themselfs. Also our senior girls team had a great night in nans bar the weekend before were the DJ played anything we asked for. Great buzz for all and great team night out. Great job.

We recently held a function here and I just want to thank all the management and staff of the oldcastle house hotel for looking after us so well. They honestly couldn't do enough for us — special mention for Damien and Celine. The only negative was I had to go downstairs to order drinks as I was paying by card but after all the food I ate I could of done with the exercise. A few comments from people were around the food not been hot enough but I guess this will be one to watch when catering for larger groups in the future.
