Bellinter House Hotel & Spa

My daughters booked me a night here as a birthday treat. We had our own pod in the spa area complete with hot tub, seaweed baths, massage chairs ans prosecco. It was so relaxing and great fun along with a gorgeous view. Our top floor room in the main house was charming and dinner in the restaurant was very nice with impeccable service. We had a really lovely night.
To top all that off, I got home to realise I had left my glasses there. On contacting the hotel, they found them promptly and put them in the post for me. A few days later they arrived safe and in perfect condition after been packaged perfectly. ☺️

Food and food service amazing! Rooms clean. Spa lovely, but heated pool felt cold but I think it may have been down to it being 0 degrees outside. All very clean and new.
Only small improvement that would’ve helped us was when we arrived it was dark and we were staying in the school house. We struggled to find it in the dark. Maybe a sign would be helpful. We went back to ask the guy at Reception for directions again and it seemed like we were a real inconvenience to him. We found it eventually. Thanks for a lovely time.

My two friends and I visited the Bellinter House Outdoor Spa over the weekend, and it was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Every detail is so thoughtfully considered. From the umbrellas and towel warmers to the bobbins and under-eye patches. The spa itself is spotless, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, which really adds to the experience.
The staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, making us feel relaxed and welcome throughout our visit. A special mention to Kevin. You can genuinely tell he enjoys his job, and his positive energy really stood out. We left feeling completely refreshed and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

We had a quick overnight visit to Bellinter House but it was very enjoyable. Our room was very clean. In fact, the whole place was immaculate. Bar food was excellent. We could not fault the atmosphere either. We sat in front of a big log fire with a Christmas tree, soft lighting and Christmas tunes playing away. If there was an issue then it was that we were not aware that we had to prebook the Spa. It was unfortunately booked out so we did not get to use all the facilities so make sure it you are going to rebook. Unlikely we'll be back. This was a treat to ourselves and what a treat.

Went for afternoon tea and the experience was lovely, the room it takes place in has a lovely atmosphere and great views of the gardens, the afternoon tea itself was affordable and the food enjoyable. However the teapot was chipped, the service could have been better and the selection of tea was disappointing — especially for it being afternoon tea. Overall I do recommend the experience as it is affordable compared to many afternoon tea experiences. Bellinter house itself is lovely both inside and outside, there is life size chess to play outside and inside the atmosphere is cozy and luxurious, would definitely recommend a visit and would be eager to check out their spa offers the future.

Absolutely loved my get away from it all before Christmas and Bellinter was perfect. Wonderful, friendly and very helpful staff. The new thermal area was exactly what I needed to relax and the food at dinner was delicious. The attention to detail from the doggy welcome stand, robes, towels, flip flops, nespresso in the room, you name it, it was the perfect recharge.
I stayed in the 'Stables' with my old pug and explored the area which is so rich in our ancient heritage.
Fantastic place and genuinely dog friendly. It’s the kind of place that feels special whether you’re there to fully switch off or to share a quiet, romantic escape. Highly recommend and definitely will be back for both.

We recently stayed here to celebrate an anniversary and overall had a really lovely experience. The setting is absolutely fabulous, especially at Christmas — the hotel is beautifully decorated and has such a festive, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly throughout our stay. We had dinner in Preston’s, which was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed.
We also tried the new outdoor spa trail, which was a real highlight. It’s been done so well and felt relaxing and special.
A few small details stopped the stay from being quite as exceptional as it could be. Our room wasn’t ready at 4pm and there were a number of guests waiting, which, while not a long delay, was a little inconvenient for a hotel of this standard.
Before dinner we hoped to enjoy a drink, but all tables were reserved, so there wasn’t anywhere to sit. For a hotel of this size, it would be nice to have a few more casual or cosy seating areas for guests just popping in for drinks.
There are also a handful of minor touches that could elevate the experience further — things like lighting candles, a bit more attention to staff presence in public areas, and updating some of the spa facilities (the hairdryers in particular).
Also a note to those booking the Bellinter Express, it is located on the main driveway coming in so you can hear every car going in an out as staff leave and arrive during the night — and the hot tub is not private.

I recently visited Bellinter House and had such a wonderful experience. I used the new thermal area, which is beautifully designed and felt like a true oasis of relaxation. The setting is peaceful, the atmosphere is soothing, and the location itself is stunning.
Everything was thoughtfully provided—towels, slippers, and the loveliest robes. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. I also enjoyed a light lunch in the café beside the spa, which was a perfect addition to the day.
Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for a personal treat, a couples’ escape, or a relaxing get-together with friends. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Bellinter House on Friday and Saturday and were genuinely blown away by the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome — not just us, but even our dog Sooty, who was treated like an honoured guest.
Every member of staff we met, from the front desk to the restaurant team to the management, went above and beyond to make our stay special. A particular thank you to Kevin, the General Manager, whose warmth and attentiveness set the tone for the whole property, and to Jill, who looked after us so thoughtfully at dinner.
The newly opened spa and infinity pool were a highlight — beautifully designed, relaxing, and genuinely exceptional. The estate itself is stunning; the grounds are peaceful and immaculate, and the house has so much character. The food throughout our stay was also absolutely delicious.
We left feeling rested, cared for, and already planning our next visit. Thank you to the entire Bellinter House team for such a memorable stay!

Myself and my husband recently stayed in Bellinter house, actually on the day that the new thermal area officially opened, and I can't fault anything about our stay.
From check in to check out the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were extremely friendly and extremely professional, nothing was too much bother.
We ate there on the Monday night and the food and service was fabulous, as was breakfast the next morning.
We used the thermal area for a few hours before heading home having been given a tour by the general manager, what a great hands on person to have on your team. The thermal area was amazing and we can't wait to return.

Stayed two nights at this lovely hotel at the start and end of our travels in Ireland. Not far from Dublin, so an ideal stop after the Ferry journey. Travelled with our Springer Spaniel and stayed in the stables dog dog-friendly rooms, which are lovely and quiet.
We were able to eat breakfast and evening meal in the bar area with our dog. We had the fillet steak for our evening meal, and it was probably the best fillet steak that I have ever had, cooked medium-rare to perfection. The staff are also friendly and provide excellent service.
Will definitely use this hotel when travelling to Ireland again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, and am so pleased with my stay here. The hotel has a lovely snug, cosy vibe perfect for winter. Everything from the room, restaurant and bar was so beautifully decorated and had such a nice atmosphere. I found staff to be incredibly friendly, attentive and talkative which I always appreciate. The restaurant had amazing quality food (I definitely recommend the steak in particular). Furthermore, the drinks in the bar were very good and they even made drinks I suggested that weren’t on the menu which was lovely of them. Overall, I had a lovely relaxing stay here and would definitely consider returning.

I never write reviews, but this stay felt like it needed one. We booked a two-night stay for our anniversary and ended up leaving after less than four hours because the experience was so disappointing. We had paid for prosecco to be waiting in the room, and it wasn’t there. Instead, we walked into a room with spider webs across the ceiling and a dirty rag left in the toilet. The whole space felt unclean and poorly maintained from the moment we arrived.
As we had our dog with us, our room was in the stables, and the door kept banging, which made the room feel even less relaxing. The room in general felt dirty and uncomfortable. The radiators couldn’t be turned off, and the bedroom window wouldn’t open, only the bathroom one. The lights were controlled by buttons on the wall, but they were confusing and didn’t seem to work properly. For a hotel claiming to be 4-star, the standards were nowhere near acceptable.
We spoke to a manager, who offered to show us another room in the stables, but by that point our anniversary had already been ruined. Issues like these shouldn’t happen in the first place, especially on what was meant to be a special stay. Housekeeping needs serious improvement, and the stable rooms should be fully reevaluated to ensure they meet the hotel’s advertised standard.
The only positive was the reception staff and the manager we dealt with, who were genuinely lovely. Sadly, their kindness couldn’t make up for how poor the accommodation was.

Fabulous hotel and grounds. The food was lovely. The staff were really welcoming and accommodating. The service was excellent and the staff went above and beyond, all done with a smile. We look forward to coming back soon again.

Fantastic place for a relaxing break away. Food was amazing! The staff go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble. The house is beautiful and tge rooms are fabulous. There's a new thermal spa under construction (nearly finished) I can't wait to go back!

Stunning grounds and interior design gorgeous but lacking attention to detail to make it the experience expected.
Hopefully in time the little touches will improve. Bedrooms look stunning but no thought to if they functional. One room no kettle, no shampoo /conditioner toiletries in either room. Bathrooms only one shelf so no storage, both bedrooms had no dressing table or side table, so cases open on the floor. Hairdryer cable doesnt extend to allow use with mirror.
Mixed review at evening dinner, 3/4 dinners good but 4th inedible. Breakfast only average.
Female bar staff fabulous and lunch on day 1 excellent.
Gave an image of luxury but the little touches need to be reviewed.

The hotel is beautiful, mostly comfortable and the staff is extraordinary! We were two couples attending a wedding nearby, had two nights at Bellinter and I feel like it was an excellent choice for us. Our only ‘complaints’ were not enough power outlets in the rooms and no outlet near a mirror. Getting ready for the wedding took creativity and rearranging the room. But our stay was wonderful and the breakfast exceptional! We visited several nearby sights and enjoyed them all: Skyrne Tower, Bective Abbey and Trim Castle.
