What a disappointment. Firstly, our room (no. 8) has far declined in standard of a room from 5 years ago, when we last stayed. OK, the room back in 2013 wasn't that great but was nowhere near as shabby and neglected as the room now! Tatty slanting furniture, grubby appearance and damp odour from the curtains, bedding and wardrobe, a shower cubicle door that failed to close properly, resulting in a pool of water on the floor outside with each use, a water flow control knob, although workable, just kept falling off when adjusted, antiquated plumbing, a toilet flushing system that is terribly weak, fluctuations of water temperature between hot and cold when taking a shower, a fire escape plan that is either incorrect or out of date, (it illustrates a kitchen within the room but there is no kitchen), and a mattress that has seen better days. All in need of serious attention! Surprisingly though, the communal areas were in excellent condition! On the last morning we saved half an hour to have our breakfast before our taxi came at 8.30am. Our order was taken as we arrived and we swiftly received… a dish of butter. 15 minutes later nothing else was served so I tried to get the attention of staff but they seemed to be busy concentrating on one side of the room only. We waited then at 8.28am we had no option but to give up.
