Very disappointed was there today for afternoon tea to treat my friend the afternoon tea at self as nice some of the Bread was very hard we were offered tea and coffee and when I pay the bill I thought I'd gone very expensive but I was told that prosecco was part of the deal we were never asked if we want to prosecco we were never told I was very very disappointed as the price has gone up so much and they don't tell you what on the deal would have afternoon tea at least once every 6 weeks I'm afraid we will never go back very very disappointed looking forward to hearing from you.

Beautifully newly refurbished, always the best service. Afternoon tea was elegant and delicious.

We had afternoon tea today and staff were so good and very helpfull would so reccomend this hotel the staff went above and beyond we had a baby shower and everything we so smoothly we were well looked after well done just sorry we diddent get the girls name who was looking after us so poliet and helpfull but hopefully the manger nos who who she is. Well done finnstown castle for a auper day.

Attended a wedding. Was a fantastic experience although the weather was very bad but that's not the fault of the hotel.

Thank you for a wonderful stay, the room in the manor house was lovely, spacious, warm and atmospheric. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent, menu had a great choice and the food was delicious. Lovely well kept gardens as well.

Bad customer service experience with receptionist and reservation staff.
Also not 4* worthy hotel due to bad buffet style breakfast and average room and bathroom.

We thought we were staying in the castle but ended up staying in an out building across from the castle. The place was falling apart & in need of repairs. The service staff was inattentive & just seemed to be going thru the motions. My wife dropped some post cards off at the front desk to be mailed, weeks later they still haven’t arrived (maybe got tossed? ) Next time I visit Dublin, I will seek other accommodations.

My son's room has been robbed.
they were moved to another room this morning as the room was flooded. New room had not been cleaned, it also did not have a safe (the other room did). They promised to clean it. My son hid his money, but when they came back to room the money was gone but also other personal items. We are waiting for the manager to sort this out, if not I've advised my son to call the police.

Stayed in many hotels, but on first impressions this hotel is excellent, full of little nooks and bars. Room very good, sky sports in the room. Several restaurants and the gardens are superb.

My husband and I stayed at Finnstown recently on our first night in Ireland. What a beautiful hotel! Very friendly people and wonderful service, from having tea in the garden to dinner in the bar. The room was the perfect size for a single night stay and very well maintained. It was close enough to Dublin that even jet-lagged and tired, we were able to drive there with no issue. We would definitely stay again.

A super hotel the staff are fantastic and the food is very nice. Hotel manager Barry, a top guy very welcoming and helpful.

Lovely room (407). Service good. Breakfast very nice. Room needs a bit of TLC in the bathroom otherwise lovely.

It was a splendid stay! Very quiet, Incredibly scenic and beautiful. A great place to get peace of mind! I only had one moment with a gentleman concierge who was super impatient and rude at the very end of what was otherwise a brilliant stay. I was simply asking him to call a cab, but he couldn't be bothered, so I called using data I don't have. Any who, I didn't get the chance to experience all amenities as I was only there for a day, but I got to stay in the main house, and it was the best. I'd surely stay again.

I was performing drinks reception music today for a wedding and the staff were Fantastic, they are so attentive and helpful. A beautifully presented venue throughout. Definately 5 stars from me ✨

Stunning building in a beautiful location. We arrived a bit early for a function for about 30 people "most" staff were ok about this, but we could feel their discontent about this. Although the majority were helpful and received is well. Walking around the gardens is very pleasant with many places to sit in or out of the shade. Just outside the secondary gates are animals enclosure for ostriches, lamas and other animals Food was beautiful. Nothing too fancy at our function but all served perfectly. Would visit again to stay or for a meal or function.

Went there for breakfast at short notice. Everyone was polite and helpful. It was a buffet and the food was varied and plentiful. Well worth the 12 euro price.

Stayed overnight here before flight from Dublin airport. Easy 20 minute journey away. Lovely country house and grounds, easy parking, good service and delicious food.

This is a grand hotel with almost everything in it. Very helpful staffs. If you're looking for a place to hold a wedding or anything in groups, this is it. I saw an Ostrich, 2 Lama and 2 Peacocks. Can you believe this? Awesome!

A gorgeous place, a gem of a place and extremely close to Dublin and all major routes. The hotel is lovely, staff are very friendly and I’d recommend it for anyone thinking of a wedding venue or any other special occasion.

Hotel is in a quieter area you can drive to and an ostrich and peacock call the hotel ground home. Some of the weddings can carry on late but it is a great hotel.

Great accommodation outside of the city. Room was spacious and we'll appointed and the on-site restaurant was great for dinner in the evening.

Over all very nice. Night desk man was very nice and funny… bar tender Niles was so amazing and funny. Good man. First time out of the states and love the people and culture of Ireland. Thank you!. Oh an Ice machine in the hotel would be grand… again thank you!

I went to a Chistmas party here and it was fabulous! A beautiful building with the decor to match. All plush red carpet and paintings in gilt frames. The food is excellent and was hot when it came to the table. The staff are helpful and skilled. There was a very well stocked bar but it was really civilised. Altogether a really classy joint.

Great service. No soap at the basin in the room though… and the rooms are quite a walk from the main hotel and it is so popular that the pub should have more waiters at peak hours. The leisure center should have small bags for the wet clothes and a jazuzzi. But overall it was great and we would recommend it to anyone.

Really nice building and setting. Great bar downstairs and fantastic food in the restaurant. Rooms have everything you need and the staff are more than happy to help with anything you need. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting!

Looks lovely, but the bed should have been changed 3 years ago resulting in a poor nights sleep. Rooms are large and very clean and the house has good facilities. Charging points for the car outside the door. For this reason the hotel got 3 stars. A new mattress and it would be 4.5

I really want to give it a higher rating! The ambiance is so nice and food is amazing, but everything was so dirty. I could see dirt/dust build-up on the decorative moldings. The carpet had stains throughout the hotel. The bed was hard and misshapen (from being too old and needing replacement). My key card didn't work 3 days in a row, so I had to visit the front desk to get into my room until they finally gave me a physical key. They had a wonderful "masonry-layout" of paintings on the wall (paintings and prints in frames covering the wall), but where they would have some very classy prints/paintings, around them they would have photos in cheap frames or what looked like magazine cutouts in some places. It was like someone saw a cool wall decor layout in a magazine and tried to recreate it, then ran out of prints to fill the gaps and just used what they could. I get the challenge, but it just felt cheap. Location is wonderful, the grounds are beautiful, the food is amazing, the gym is very nice.

Went here yesterday afternoon with my family for food, we were left waiting for 45 minutes with no one coming over to us that my cousin then had to go ask for menus, finally when they came to us and took our orders, we were left waiting ages for our food & drinks and tea again for some time when they finally arrived the tea pot was half full they had to refill it, they had no ingredients to make strawberry daquri's even Doe it was on the drinks menu, the minestrone soup was only luke Warm, was again left waiting nearly 20 minutes for a drink, asked for water the waiter Brought 1 Glass instead of a jug, they food was lovely it was just a let down to have to wait so long for food especially having a 85 year old woman with us.

Lovely for the family and our wee ones enjoyed it very much. They loved walking around the grounds and the notion of staying in a castle. The staff are very helpful. The food options for the kids were not good that we could see so we went elsewhere. The room was very spacious and the staff were very accommodating for us (2 adults and 4 kids). Also the carpet in the room could have done with a better hovering under beds and behind presses etc. Despite this I would definitely go back again with the family or as a couple.

My room was located in the outside building of the Castle (lateral area), It has a good size. The bad thing is that there is a lot humidity smell in the room, the bathroom extractor does not work… All the place needs to be renovated as looks very old and musty…

Wish I could give this no stars. My husband and I were very excited to stay here and then we're very unhappy. We paid a lot of money to stay in the castle and got sent out back to this run down old building with old room. The toilet kept running, there was no hott water we had to use a different bathroom to shower. We told them there had to be a mess up with our room and they told us that their wedding guests got priority over other guest staying at the hotel. I have never written I review ever but this must be said so other guest don't get tricked by the beautiful pictures of the castle and not where you actually get sent to sleep. Don't stay here.

So excited to have found this awesome hotel! We stayed in a garden suite which didn't have the castle "charm" but was a clean and modern hotel room instead which was a nice surprise. Biggest bathroom in all of Ireland! Tons of complementary parking, a huge and delicious brealfast buffet (well worth the money). The bar is a great place to have dinner! The Fish and Chips was the best I had in all of Ireland! I will happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to have a unique experience in Dublin. We could have easily spent our whole trip just relaxing in the gardens and walking the grounds. Very beautiful! I can't imagine a better place to have an event either. Delicious breakfast, fancy hotel. Had to leave really early one morning before breakfast was served, the staff worked with us to get us some food before we left. Would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were outdated, beds are hard. Dining room service was very rude and sparse. Two stars only because they have a pony and a couple donkeys in the yard that you can give apples to.

Beautiful setting. Classic rooms without more in the modern annex. Bar with friendly meal service. Honest price.

Hotel is very nice. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! My only complaint was that they did not and do not provide face cloths. Other than that, I would highly recommend it to.

A lovely, charming hotel with excellent staff. Go for a walk in the park, feed the peacock, have an afternoon tea! Relaxing. Many different room types in 4 different buildings, all the way from Victorian style to more modern ones.

Finally getting a minute to come on and say a huge thank you on behalf of myself, my husband and my family to all the staff at Finnstown Castle Hotel for making our wedding day such an amazing and memorable day. All throughout the planning process they were nothing but helpful and accommodating. Always at the end of the phone to answer queries or reassure. We were treated like royalty on our menu tasting night and it was just a taster of the service that was to come on the day itself. From the time myself and my bridesmaid's arrived on Friday 28th and all throughout the big day itself on the 29th of July the staff couldn't have done any more to make us feel welcome and at ease. A special thank you to Elaine, the wedding coordinator who was there to make sure every detail was just perfect and as it was supposed to be, even made sure to find a French flag to put up in honour of my husband and his family :) and of course to Jason, the Food and Beverage manger who went above and beyond any of our expectations. He was so calm and in control and put everyone at ease on the morning and directed everything to perfection for the whole day. He was still there serving drinks at 3am, The man never sleeps! To anyone considering this hotel for their wedding it really is the ideal venue. We had an outdoor ceremony and it was just magical. Everyone of our guests commented on the beautiful grounds and the fabulous food and service. I can not recommend it enough. Thanks again Finnstown.

Very nice although older main building. We stayed in a room in the Spring Gardens. Nice, comfortable rooms and the bathroom was spacious. The staff are all friendly and attentive. Would certainly stay here again.

Older Hotel with lots of charm. Even if in some Places the paint is peeling a little, at the important areas, renovated and modernized! Extremely good food in the in-house Restaurant for an incredibly good price. I think I've eaten for price/performance never looked so good. (3-course menu at high level for 26, 50)

We loved it here. Beautiful grounds, great live music in the evening, large rooms, and a delicious breakfast. The hotel was clearly old, so don't expect The Ritz, but upgraded where it matters: the bathrooms were spacious and well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The common areas aren't modern or flashing, but charming, tasteful, and appropriate for large groups. I would definitely stay there again.

I did not stay in the hotel but was here for afternoon tea. Several things you should know: — The quality of the food served for afternoon tea is quite poor. Sandwiches are plain and tasteless, the cakes were too warm and melting, and frankly not nice at all. — The tea is generic — They only provide you with one option for coffee, which is Americano and that's it. — The service is unfortunate: they placed us at a table supposedly for 6 people but one chair was missing, so we had to cram on the couch since they were unable to provide an extra chair. — The worse is the price: for what you pay, anywhere else you get much better food, plenty of tea and coffee choices and an amazing service with pretty cutlery. It's a pity because the building itself is beautiful and it could have so much going on for it.

The rooms in the main hotel are very nice but very very dark, and the lights are not bright enough to make up for this. I think the rooms in the other buildings are brighter. The showers in the rooms are great — very powerful. I had the vegetarian option at a function event here and it was very bland, plain tomato pasta. I had rang in advance to ask about the veggie option so they were aware there would be a few vegetarian meals required at the function so there could have been more planning gone into it.

We were a party of 9 for my mums 80th birthday for Sunday dinner. I have been to finnstowns on a good few occassions as I live in Lucan so I suggested we go there to celebrate my mums special day. We had requested a table near the entrance because of my Mums age which we got but unfortunately with both doors to the restaurant and the main door open there was a dreadful breeze coming in and we all had to leave our jackets/jumpers on. We ordered our meal and our starters arrived quite promptly, though we weren't asked if we wanted my daughters children's meal early, and it arrived with our starters so she was finished her meal v early which wasn't ideal. Then we had to wait nearly an hour for our main course. I said it to the waitress twice about the delay, she eventually went to check, came back to say sorry it will be here soon, which it wasn't. When it eventually arrived the food was only so so, the beef was overcooked, burnt at the edges. This is totally unacceptable really, its not a cheap restaurant so I would be expecting better food and service. Very disappointed, especially as it was a special day for my mum, we wont be back in a hurry which is such a pity because the house and grounds are beautiful. Just to say the waiter who served us near the end of our meal was lovely.

I felt this hotel exceded my expectations. From the price of the room and how it was marketed on Trivago, I was under the impression it may be a bit seedy. It was not at all seedy. I couldn't fault the room which is unusual, perhaps my only qualm was that a fairground was slightly audible in the early evening. However I felt very carefree and there was certainly a relaxing ambience around the place, It was a great place to retire after a day of travelling or business. The peacock that was patrolling the perimeter added a very slight tinge of class resulting with a very comfortable 4/5 ****.

Great when it's beer garden weather. The front of the hotel has a good amount of picnic tables. These have table service for food and drink. Inside is old fashioned design to suit the style of the house. Lots of small areas to get a seat and around 3 bars. Theres also a good variety of food ranging from pub grub to a la carte.

Quite unhappy with so many aspects. Parking is a pain during busy check in hours. Check in is listed online as 4pm but apparently is 3pm, which would have been so much better. Seems most of the rooms are in a very modern building that is not a part of nor anything like a castle. The fitness facility with steam room closes at 6pm on a Saturday, so by the time you're checked in you have to race to relax in it. That's ridiculous. You can also hear EVERYTHING from the hallway outside of the guest room and a great deal from other rooms. I could go on and on…

Fantastic wedding for my friends! Can't fault it.

Occasionally I will drop in with some clients and customers for a spot of lunch. Delicious fresh food and great value for money. The staff are very attentive and friendly. My favorite dish is Baked Supreme of Free Range Chicken, mouth watering :). Client are always impressed by the food and the venue. Highly Recommended and deserves the 5 Star Rating.

Excellent wedding venue. Always enjoy this location for shooting Wedding Photography and Video. Grounds are kept in great condition. Gazebo, fountain and hotel exterior are great for atmosphere. It was good but very very bad toast.

Very happy with our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Nice to have a pool. Food was good. Only an hour on the bus to Dublin. Far enough away to relax, close enough to site-see! No complaints!
