The Old Rectory Donard

Spent a lovely few days with our dog in the Old Rectory to get away from the madness of Halloween fireworks. Would highly recommend for a few days of peace and quiet in the countryside.
The cottages are lovely and cosy, with central heating. Our cottage also had a wood burning stove with free logs provided for the first night, a very nice touch. The kitchen has everything you need, but would highly recommend ordering the full Irish breakfast in advance, which gets delivered in the morning to your cottage. One of the nicest breakfasts I’ve had!
The hosts, who live in the main house, were v friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

The Old Rectory was perfect for our group of 10. The house and facilities were spotless ✅. The gardens blooming. It feels beautifully rural even though it’s only 30 mins to Naas ✅. As it’s self catering this was handy.
The whole booking process was seamless ✅ even though I changed our booking a couple of times. Delighted I added on those extra days. Thankfully I booked well in advance.
Martin and Harriet were very obliging and extremely welcoming. Thank you both so much from each and every one of us.

This place is amazing. Harriet and Martin are so welcoming and even helped us arrange an extra night when our plans suddenly changed. The cottage was comfortable, beautiful, and peaceful. We loved having coffee with the chickens (and a duck) outside the patio and it was the perfect place to rest after several long days of travel. When we very tured out again, the Wicklow Mountains were at our doorstep and we had an amazing day exploring. It was very hard to leave!

The host Harriet couldn’t have been more helpful. Accommodation is clean and in a beautiful and peaceful location.

Myself and my husband absolutely love to stay here. I cant recommend it enough. Harriet and Martin treat us like we are family.

My wife and I (newly weds) decided to make this our first stay of our honeymoon in Ireland and within the first meeting of the couple that own it I was beyond happy and excited to stay. The cottages are wonderful, but the nature of the grounds is beyond compare. All I could hear laying in bed after our long day of travel (we came from Canada) was the gentle rain and subtle chirping of the birds. We opened the door to a lovely note congratulating us our marriage along with a freshly home baked fruitcake and a wonderful bottle of sparkling wine. This place is truly beyond beautiful and I wholeheartedly suggest that if you plan on visiting Ireland that you make a stop here and spend some time.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Old Rectory in Donard, Wicklow with a group of friends from Drogheda, and it was a delightful experience. We used it as our base for a relaxing getaway and couldn't have been happier. The cozy atmosphere and serene surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind.
One of the highlights of our stay was the leisurely walk to the local pub, where we enjoyed some delicious pizza, played pool, and had great conversations. It was a wonderful way to spend our evenings.
Harriet and Martin, the owners of the Old Rectory, were incredibly welcoming and kind. They even had homemade lemon drizzle cake waiting for us, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. Their hospitality made our stay even more special.
We couldn't help but talk about returning sometime with our families to experience the charm of the pod or gypsy caravan accommodations they offer. Overall, our stay at the Old Rectory was a memorable and enjoyable experience, and we look forward to coming back in the future.

We just had the most fantastic weekend at The Old Rectory. A family get together, a birthday celebration of 15 people. What a gorgeous setting. The grounds and the accomodation are stunning. Very homely and so well loved and cared for. And every thing we needed at our finger tips and more. Harriet and Martin and family and Carol all brilliant hosts. Even Axel and Princess the fury companions. It was perfect having all the different properties and we used the Ladybird Chalet as the hub of all the activities and prepping food, great outdoor space for seating the whole family. With cover from the elements which thankfully we didnt need. Firepit was a lovely touch for sitting out late at night. From day one, enquiries to booking The Old Rectory was such a smooth process. We would 100% recommend a stay. Location is ideal also for exploring Co. Wicklow and surrounds. Also Grangecon Kitchen very kindly provided all our food for our main birthday dinner. A short spin away. Top notch food, wholesome and very tasty. We will definitely be returning… a gorgeous little oasis.
