Lovely hotel. We stayed there for a weekend for my sister's birthday. The hotel it self from the outside was so pretty, big land around it perfect for a wedding. The inside was lovely clean tidy room s, good food and nice staff. There was health spa we got treatment there was do relaxing and the girls where just lovely which made even better. We also went swimming which was so relaxing. It finished off our weekend. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

We had a lovely family room overlooking benbulben. Room was clean and very spacious with great blackout curtains, very important for small children! My son really loved the pool and the bouncy castle dragon. I had a very enjoyable facial at the spa. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly. Also plenty of parking in front of the hotel. A good base to explore lovely county Sligo.

Stayed hear for a wedding and it was great. I had a massage and facial which I booked in advance and the spa facilities were excellent. I had a huge room which was very clean, extremely spacious and comfortable and was so quiet I slept like a baby. All the staff were helpful and polite and made the wedding feel extra special. The food at the reception was delicious and the table settings and room was beautiful. I couldn't fault the hotel and I would definitely stay again and again.

Enjoyed the Clayton hotel in Sligo. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The room we got was ideal as we have older children, so for them to have a separate room meant we all had a bit of privacy. The food was fabulous in both the main restaurant and the bar. The pool faciltiies were great. My kids loved being in the pool. The only comment I would make is that the room for Breakfast was roasting and you could see people constantly fanning themselves with the heat. This was from early in the morning and in the evening.

I stayed one night in May. My room was down endless corridors and took ages to get to. As a single woman I felt very vulnerable going down corridor after corridor after corridor (I timed it: it took 2 min 20 seconds to get to reception) and I think women travelling alone should not be placed at the extremities of the hotel. Also the TV in my room kept going blank, this happened about 5 times during a 2 hour period. I needed to switch it off and on each time which was very annoying. I had seafood chowder in the bar and there was NO seafood in my chowder, however when I mentioned this to staff they took it back and replaced with a very fishy chowder. It was a very warm night and bed had only duvet, would have been good to have an oversheet. Overall good, not great.

Nice hotel with very good size family suite — 2 adjoining rooms with plenty of space for our family of 5. A few negatives; got some misinformation upon arrival from reception. We were told that kids could stay in the pool until 8pm — it is actually 7pm so we got only 40 minutes in the pool. Also told that breakfast was served until 11am (Monday morning). We arrived at breakfast 10.30am and initially were told breakfast was over and only after a bit of protest staff did accommodate us and arrange cooked breakfast. Last complaint, TV signal stopped working on Sunday night and was still not working when we were leaving on Monday. I'll put these issues down to misinformation and bad luck! However overall a very nice hotel with friendly staff.

Hotel is beautiful from outside. Customer service below average. No air con in rooms. Beds small with doors between rooms. Cater for hen parties and stag parties. Food is supposed to be nice but the wait was too long. In close proximity to the city.

Our accommodation was perfect. Family room very spacious. Dinner in Bar was very enjoyable and had a good selection on menu for children. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Lovely hotel. More like a castle. Only reason not 5 stars is the 45 min wait for my dinner. It was just fish and chips. But in saying that was some of the nicest I have ever had. But a little too long to wait. Rooms are huge. Two separate rooms with a shared bathroom. Staff are very nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

Had a very enjoyable stay, great for kiddies, lovely VIP bag given. Pool was great for tiring them out. Rooms were a good size and loved the fact we had 2 rooms (1 for kids and 1 for adults), made it feel like we were on a holiday. Bar food lovely however wouldn't be keen on food in the restaurant. One of the staff said yes to everything, no problem, but wasn't listening and everything came out wrong. Another staff rectified which was fine. Ice cream cart wasn't open anytime we went to it and was closed all day on the Saturday, kids dissapointed. Would recommend to friends and family and have already.

Great place to stay with kids. The rooms are big, well equipped and not too expensive. There's a swimming pool and a paddling (and also sauna, jaccuzi and hot steam). There's a place for the kids to play with toys, coloring … and they can mind them from 4pm to 8pm. There are 2 reasonably priced restaurants with children's menu with good choice (and they are flexible, we switched chips for vegetables or pasta). The staff is friendly. Only issue, the breakfast is full price for the kids!

I have submitted a review on Trip Advisor, but just to mention to you here also that your staff are a credit to you. The ladies on reception were so lovely and even provided us with a printout of the history of the building. Two members of staff stood out for us, Cillian and Conor in the bar, they gave us such a warm welcome. Every member of staff that we encountered in the hotel, from the lady who cleaned our room to the young lad who fetched our poached eggs at breakfast were just super!

Good facilities; pool was nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. It needs refurbishing though. The link corridors leading to rooms look shabby, the room itself much the same. Worst part of experience was the bed and pillows, very uncomfortable. Furthermore the front door is very tight, we had to squeeze our daughters buggy through before realising there is a bigger door round the side — no signs to indicate this. Would make more sense to lock this door and exclusively use the large one. Automatic doors would be welcome especially for wheelchair access and families with buggies. Would not recommend hotel because of bed situation, that’s the most important part of hotel stay is to get quality rest. If this was sorted I would stay again.

Thank you to the clayton especially the staff Jenny Conor Killian and Tracey who were very friendly and accommodating. We were treated very well throughout our stay last weekend. Staff were professional and brought a friendly positive customer service to residents. Thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. Would highly recommend it. Thank you for everything.

Nice staff. Nice building. Clean toilets. Food wasn't great but it was a wedding I was attending so it was mass cooked. Ate there maybe 2 years ago and it was nice.

Stayed for two nights. It is a very busy but well run the staff are very good at their jobs. Was there with the family a 3 year old and a 9 year old. Have to say I was surprised at the size of. The room we got, it was the biggest room I ever seen as a family room which was great. Would highly recommend great experience thank you.

We enjoyed the fabulous space of the two bed suite and the layout was excellent. The pool and gym are fab and dinner on Friday night was a highlight with the charming staff and excellent food. Breakfast was a little chaotic on both days with lack of glasses at times and the kitchen running out of various options. However staff were efficient and helpful throughout. Given the very handy kitchenette in our suite it would have been nice to have some basic utensils cutlery or Bowls. The area was rendered almost useless when it should have been a great asset over a busy weekend. It might be useful to say that these items are not provided and we would have brought them with us. Overall however a most enjoyable visit and a great experience.

We stayed in one of the large family suites which was great for our family of 4. The rooms have a fresh, modern decor and were very comfortable, spotlessly clean and deliciously warm even though it was snowing outside. The breakfast each morning was plentiful and the variety and quality of choice was second to none. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay and very pleasant to deal with. Noel, in particular, saved the day when we left our son's much loved toy behind us in the room after our departure and he ensured it was reunited with us! Many thanks Noel. We look forward to staying again soon.

My Room: Standard The Hotel: Clean but nothing special My experience: I booked for a wedding anniversary, tried to book into the spa originally they let me down had to make last minute arrangements elsewhere, Spa staff ignorant and unhelpful. During my stay at 12am leaving the bar I left my wife for a minute at reception while I went to check the car. I returned 2 minutes later to find "Noel" a staff member offering to take my wife to view hotel rooms alone with him. She told him she was married he walked away smurking. The hotel were aware we were on our anniversary as they sent a happy anniversary wish to us on arrival. Yet the member of staff denies this now it spoiled our anniversary. Unprofessional and the management are unable to resolve the issue. No apology, hearing the same response 3rd week now.   Disappointed in this hotel its staff and level of service. Who approaches a young female at 12am to invite them to view bedrooms. Stood outside the bar obviously the staff member "Noe (-) " Is his name apparently. In the service industry this type of behavior has no place!

From the minute we arrived we had a very enjoyable stay, all the staff were wonderful and friendly, very chatty, our evening meal in restaurant was lovely, breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs very tasty and good choice. The hotel itself is a beautiful building, it's about 15/20 minutes of a walk to town, where there are some lovely eateries, pubs and shops. There are plenty of places within a short distance to explore, intend to revisit in a few months.

Beautifully situated. Rooms are simple but very clean and on the mattresses you sleep fantastically. Showers are ok. Food is very good for me anyway. The people in the monastery are all very nice and courteous.

Staff were lovely. The pamper package was very good. However, the bar food was poor and service for breakfast was hit and miss, with raw fried potatoes! The main room in our family room was lovely as was the additional joining room but unfortunately we were able to hear our next door neighbours to this room loud and clear!. Overall, it served the purpose but there are a few areas that could be improved upon.

Attended a Wedding here Stayed in a family suite. Great facilities including leisure facilities. Good Food especially breakfast. Very Friendly Staff Fantastic Building Grounds and Wedding Venue The only thing I would recommend is there was only two of us staying in the suite. If I was with a young family there was a lot of wasted space in the hallway where some armchairs could be placed for the adults while the kids went to sleep. I have been in that situation and it would be very helpful.

Love this hotel! They are eager to help and do what they can for everyone. Lots of little thoughtful torches. Food is fantastic! Coffee amazing! But the friendliness of the staff is what I will remember most ❤️ Well done Clayton Hotel, Sligo.

I stayed in the Clayton as part of a business trip. The room was nice but cold and noisy — it was also really far away from reception. I had a couple of bags with me and was met with lots of obstacles along the way — good few doors to open etc. I think there was a kids club nearby because there was screaming children for a few hours in the evening, which made it hard to do work. Apart from that the room was comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar food was nice but the bar itself was freezing cold. Breakfast was really nice with lots of fresh fruit to choose from. Poached eggs were no problem so that was great. If I had a different room with a heater this would have been a great stay.

Disappointing, huge bed castle with over 8000 rooms, dirt from the predecessors in the room … Reception not particularly friendly. Waiters in the restaurant were quite nice, but also there everything rather dirty and gloomy. Price was also expensive for the miserable quality.

The hotel is beautiful. Very comfortable. Very good breakfast.

If you love the ambience from Harry Potter film, you've come to the right place. Pleasant hotel, nice staff and beautiful big rooms.

At first… Wow! Splendid facade and park, we say, it is a 4 star.
Spacious reception with staff… Not speaking French, good despite this, everything goes well, taken care of, reservation confirmed, information useful for life in the hotel.
We are shown our room on the 3rd floor, we walk through huge corridors and barred by swinging doors, access quite sad.
Arrived in the room, what to say, room with decoration starting to date, soulless for a 4 star, but good bedding. Correct bathroom with bathtub plus toilet with a powerful and noisy extractor group.
The night will pass without any hassle, despite the slamming of doors with automatic groom.
Beautiful menu with various menus concerning the restaurant, staff to the small care with the guests; Breakfast was very nice
If you are looking for a quiet place and a good map for a meal, OK, this hotel suits you; On the other hand, if you really want a 4 star, this establishment, for me, will not do the trick.

Old psychiatric hospital converted into a hotel, superb room with kitchen, living room, separate bedroom a whole concept different from what is a normal hotel room.

Awful place, fry iN morning cold not fried though all grilled. Rooms dated and smelly. Manager very unfriendly and rude and hard to understand, as he is not from here like reception girl workers.

Stayed in a junior suite on a 3night b&b break, really enjoyed our break, suite was clean and loads of space, breakfast had a great choice and tasty, bar food was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful all round, great location will definitely be back to stay again.

Shockingly bad food in restaurant, over priced being such! I mean TERRIBLE. Hotel decor completely unsympathico to aesthetic of the building. So utterly hideous it's disturbing. Room huge but odd and upsettingly ill-thought out and ugly IMO. Pool area tack — de — lux. Yuk. The whole visual and food impact of this place horrible. Could be amazing — currently destroyed by dum dum decor, a terrible restaurant, and general low rent approach to everything. Such A Disappointment. : (on stressful trip would have appreciated something 4 star. This most definitely is not. And one more night left. Hurray! Not.

Me, my sister and my friend were celebrate my sister birthday in Clarion Hotel and just everything was perfect! We got this lovely room with comfortable beds, breakfast in the morning was really teasty with lots of options to choose from, Really nice staff who makes us feel welcome. … We were enjoy this lovely spa in the hotel where we relaxed nearly all saturday. We didn't want to leave Sunday morning but We will comeback there soon. Thank you.

Stayed in this incredible hotel in August. Only 5 mins from Sligo town and so many interesting places to visit. We went to visit were W. B Yeats, the poet and his brother Jack B. Yeats, the artist spent their teenage years writing and painting, the ruins of the house is still there. The Fleadh Cheoil festival was on while we were there, a mix of Irish music and Irish dancing and Sligo town was buzzing till the early hours with a brilliant family athmosphere. Highly recommend this little piece of Heaven in the West of Ireland, and everything from the food to the friendly staff and the great swimming facilities at the hotel were second to none. We will be back, as there was so much more to see that we didn't get time to do, in our 5 day stay.

One night stay only so didn't experience anything other than accommodation and catering — very good value for business stay. Rooms v comfortable, quiet, plenty of 'corners' to work in if you want o stay out of your room, Bar and restaurant staff efficient and pleasant. Amazing edifice, huge building.

The family suit is just gorgeus it has lovely big rooms the pool is quite dirty the castle it self is beautiful but the morning breakfast isnt as good as I hoped the bar is very good and so is the food in it. There isnt much to do in it for my kids but we go out after all I have to say the clarion hotel is beautiful.
