Very friendly staff and the food is delicious with very big portions definitely a 5 ⭐

We stayed in Hotel Newport recently… while the staff bar 1 manager were very nice and helpful and the room very clean and comfortable… the food left a lot to be desired … I ordered a burger on the first night … the meat was mashed rather than minced … I ordered a medium streak the following night … it arrived very well done … our waiter was very courteous but refused me the opportunity to speak with the chief… the following morning I spoke with the manager, who argued with me, contradicted himself n was down right rude … it is fair to say while Newport is a very charming village we will never stay in that hotel again …

Loved staying here — so much so that we have extended our stay!
Our room is such a surprise! Price is comparable to some fairly ordinary B&B’s we have stayed in recently, but this is a spectacular suite!
Great welcome, friendly staff, central location, a number of restaurants within 5 mins walk — can’t do better.
All round fantastic experience — cannot recommend highly enough! ❤️

Was treated to dinner in hotel Newport for Mother’s Day by my family and have only great things to say about it. Top class food and such lovely staff. From John in the bar and Angel they were so pleasant and chatty and included our young fellow in all conversations and the chef even put together a meal for him that wasn’t on the menu on the night and it was so tasty. And On our departure I was treated to a beautiful flowering plant and a box of chocolates. Thank you so much.

Great Hotel lovely atmosphere. Food lovely, staff helpful & very friendly. Rooms spacious & very clean. Newport is great plenty of pubs all do lovely food. Bike hire & greenway to achill or westport.

Lovely hotel a 10 minute drive from Westport. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and there’s plenty of parking nearby. It’s also a great place to stay to see the best parts of Mayo.

Stopped off on a Sunday afternoon in Newport and had a lovely meal in hotel Newport. The food truly was excellent. The staff were friendly but the service was a little slow due to a rush of customers. I would heartily recommend hotel Newport for the good food and a relaxed dining experience.

Really disappointing. First told there is no food as they have a function on. Then told there would be live traditional music at 10. Almost 11 and the live music hasn’t started, but the band are still outside having a smoke. Only positive is the young barman.
Bad show, we won’t be back.

Got an excellent rate last night for Hotel Newport. Thank you to Kathy for looking after our booking. Met by the Girls on the Bar2 sisters, on arrival, very professional. Package included 2 course dinner, glass of wine each and bed and breakfast. Food was good, efficient service. Breakfast this am was spot on. Server made us feel at home and was more than helpful. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

What a great couple of days we had in Newport. The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast excellent. We had dinner in the bar and it was great. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. Would definitely stay again Newport a great base for discovering the west.

Stayed for a Groupon Deal, and I have to say the experience was excellent, the breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean and spacious and the receptionist were more than helpful. It's prob worth noting, part of the deal was a dinner in their restaurant and its about the only downside, we ordered food and straight away you could tell there was something wrong. I believe there was a traffic death in the village and the restaurant was incredibly busy compared to what id call a normal Tuesday night. The guys were quick to recognise this and gave us extras to apologise. Again not taking away from an excellent stay. Will go again.

Loved this hotel first visit not my last. The room was Fantastic very clean & spacious. Food was excellent, staff were 1st class couldn't do enough for you. If you are visiting the area give them a call im glad we did. Emma on reception was so lovely and very cheerful and Alan in the bar restaurant was so efficient best barman ive seen in a while he was in total control of what was going on around him. A really lovely man. Couldnt fault this hotel and Newport is a lovely relaxing little town. Will definitely be back.

I feel bad to post this review because the staff itself was very kind and helpful. However management of the hotel left something to be desired. After a long travel, we were tired and arrived at the Newport hotel hoping for a good night sleep. Unfortunately, the very inadequate accomodations caused us to leave early. Car park was very difficult to get into. The "maze-like" layout of the hotel and multiple closed doors made getting our luggage in a terrible struggle. The condition of the rooms and interior of the hotel we're terribly dated and NOT clean. Stains dripping down the side of our mattress, mildew in the tub, heavy dust, and one broken box spring which made the second bed dip. Sorry Newport Hotel, you need major improvement.

Really loved this hotel, the room was so big and lovely food, although the fish I had for dinner was super boney but that cant be helped.

We stayed here last may for three nights and had an amazing time got an email for a web early bird offer and just had to take advantage of it. Newport Hotel is cosy comfortable and the rooms are clean and the beds are great. We are here for a two night stay the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is amazing would definitely recommend you try it for your self.

Had 2 days here for 20th anniversary been before loved it food is lovely really lovely the rooms clean and tidy the staff are great we even gate crashed the Xmas do they made us more than welcome everyone knows of Westport it's pretty no one has heard of Newport well let me tell you a little secret this is a hidden gem of mayo they people in Newport are the friendliest I have ever met I really love it and the manager is fabulous defiantly will be back they do a great 2 night 3 course evening meal on one night great value please go to NEWPORT.

A little piece of heaven, fantastic hotel the most wonderful staff and food delicious.

Just back from a long weekend. We found all the staff very friendly, helpful and the service was excellent. Lovely food and we cannot fault the hotel/staff in any way. Will definitely go back when the opportunity arises again.

We ended up in Newport after our car broke down on our way home from a few days break in Mulranny. It was raining and we were hundreds of miles from home. Luckily we found a repair garage who unfortunately gave us the bad news that our car needed a new part or we were going nowhere! He showed us the damage that was done and explained everything clearly. It would be at least a day before we would be on the road so they drove us to the nearest hotel which was very nice of them! Hotel newport were very accommodating from the moment we walked in. We asked if they had a room (bearing in mind it was only 11.30 am and we'll before check in time). They sorted us out straight away with a lovely double room. We had a very comfortable stay. The food was really nice and all the staff were lovely. We even joined in on the bingo evening in the function room and we're made very welcome.

Fantastic. That's the only way I can describe the weekend the Bridge Inn Golf Society spent at this wonderfull hotel. Every single one of the 33 golfers that stayed there have asked me to pass on their most heartfelt thanks to Michelle, Pat & all of the staff at Hotel Newport for their outstandingly warm welcome and friendly and helpfull attiudes, nothing was ever to much trouble for anyone all weekend. The chef also needs a special thank you too, as the food was exceptional, always hot, on time and plenty of it. The hospitality was second to none, the rooms were top quality and the Guinness as promised was superb. So once again thank you all for making our weekend a FANTASTIC one.

Price performance is top. Free breakfast and parking which is not so typical in Ireland.

Great hotel, staff, service and food too! We stayed at a B&B down the street the first night and then we had dinner at the Hotel Newport. The hotel was only €20 more but the experience was 10 times better! Thanks!

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Newport recently. Their family rooms are fantastic! Spacious, split level, spotlessly clean and very modern. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The bistro food is lovely and has a great selection especially for kids. We will definitely be returning!

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. I came in very late looking for a room and I was looked after so well. The room was gorgeous, and the staff were unbelievably accommodating. They even made gluten free chowder from scratch for lunch the next day. I'd take a trip to Newport just to stay there!

We had business in Achill and Westport so Newport was the most convenient stopping place. From the minute we booked in we were impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the reception staff (Kathy in particular). The room was spacious and well laid out with all the facilities one would expect. The only slight drawback was the absence of UK television. Dinner was superb, the standard of cooking was way above what one would expect from a 3 star and the menu was impressive in its variety of choices. Breakfast was excellent and the eggs were cooked exactly as requested (that doesn't often happen! ) All in all our stay was a delight.

Visited the pub on an early afternoon and were very pleased. The food was delicious and priced similar to other establishments. The best part was the attentive service we received, which has been rather poor since arriving in Ireland. I highly recommend the Hotel Newport.
