Ard Einne House Bed & Breakfast

A fantastic stay here. A lovely and attentive host, who's proactive and happy to help. From bike hire and transport to filling up water bottles. The breakfast was great with a choice of cooked options running from 8:30 to 9:30. Check out at 10:30.
The rooms were spacious and powerful shower was hot.
The location is around 5 minutes away from the centre and ferry port, we paid €15 for transport with Michael (Mike) and €40 for E-bike which is the best option for seeing the island fully without being worn out for the distances. We saw lots of people pushing bikes and looking tired, so we would recommend having the E-Bike to enjoy the experience (although you still have to work for the views, with places of interest in the south requiring a 20 minute walk across rugged terrain). The island is fairly big with lots to see, so choose a few things and visit them with leisure.
Overall, a great place to stay and one you'll enjoy!

Cloddagh was the best host we ever had. We got to the island around 4:30pm and she called the shop to help us get bikes so we can explore that same day. She gave us great recommendations and was truly our savior this stop in our trip. The breakfast was delicious and the house was so cute in the quiet part of the island. Definitely recommend staying here for the night on the island.

Best place near the airport. Excellent breakfast and great shower, but very cozy! A view to die for.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming bed and breakfast, the breakfast especially was a highlight!
Room.
We got a twin room (2 twin beds) with an ensuite washroom. The room itself was small but everything was clean and we had good lighting.
Breakfast.
Breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30 every morning. We had a choice of tea or coffee, got a bread basket with bread and scones with butter and jam, and were able to order breakfast from their menu. I got the full Irish breakfast and it was tasty, freshly made, and filling.
Hostess.
Our hostess was so kind and welcoming! She gave us recommendations for what to do on the island, filled our water bottles, and accommodated our early departure flight by serving breakfast an hour earlier than usual.
Location.
If I had to name one downside, it would be the location. This place is a ~3km/2mi walk from town. This means that it's a 40+ min walk from the ferry pier and nearest restaurants. When the weather is nice, the walk is actually quite nice. The roads are relatively peaceful with few cars, and you get to take in the views of the island. When the weather is bad though, it's pretty miserable to walk this long in the rain, possibly carrying a bag of woolen goods you just bought from one of the Aran sweater stores.
On the other hand though, this relatively remote location meant the area was very serene.

We had such a lovely time at Clodaghs BnB! Her and all of the ladies working there are amazing and made us feel right at home. Our room was super clean with very comfortable beds. We also loved the breakfast and fantastic the view.

A very comfortable place to stay and Cloddagh was so helpful; she took care of the taxis and the bicycle rental for me, which I especially appreciated as the day I arrived I'd been traveling for about 12 hours with very tight connection times.
Room was great; fabulous views, comfortable bed, good-sized bathroom. Felt very cozy overnight while the wind was howling outside and rain was battering at the windows. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water, which I was especially grateful for after I went for a swim and was rather chilled to the bone.
Speaking of the room — there are at least a couple of rooms on the ground floor, so if you have difficulty with stairs, you do have an option here to not have to stay on the upper floor.
Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Perfect sort of food for Irish weather, so nice to have some good porridge which someone else has prepared! I noticed that they were very accommodating of people's preferences and needs, were especially thoughtful in ensuring that children were getting what they wanted and didn't feel they had to refrain from asking to not, for example, have beans included with their full Irish. (I suppose what I really mean is that they treated the children as individuals who could make their own choices! Which maybe doesn't sound all that special but so very many adults are condescending toward children.

Clodagh was cheerfully welcoming & hospitable. She went above and beyond by helping organize our itinerary and transportation for the duration of our stay. And her breakfast selection was very generous and always served with big smiles.

The Hostess with the Mostest — I got let down by one place on the island and then I rang Clodagh and oh my god the Bean an Tí, she could not do enough for us … cinnamon toast — awesome, electric bikes sorted, taxis with Big Mike no problem and finally the view outside the Ard Einne was breath taking! I brought weather from Lanzarote but the people of the island brought the craic!

Such an amazing place! Clodagh is a top notch hostess. Clean and modern rooms, nice breakfast, and again, a wonderful owner who goes out of her way to make your stay on this beautiful island welcoming.
I gave a 5 star for location because it's wonderful if you're looking at being away from it all. If you want to be close to the main center, this isn't for you unless you get a bike. If you want to hear birds and the ocean and have a private little spot, this is definitely for you.

Great little B&B. It’s a few Km from the pier so rent a bike or get a taxi (bike is the way to go). Room was comfortable and breakfast delicious. Amazing views and a very friendly outside dog and cats. Clodagh is very accommodating and will help you with whatever you need.

Ard Einne is a wonderful place to stay on Inishmore! Highly recommend. Clodadgh is very friendly and knowledgable and she helped me plan what to do there, including a great local music show. The room was very comfortable and Irish breakfast was delicious. If you want to rent a bike, they can have one dropped off at the house for you. It’s located on the far end of the island so very peaceful and away from all the day trip tourists. Beautiful views from the house, and it’s only a short walk to the coast and to some amazing sites and hikes, including St. Edna’s monastery just across the street in the cemetery. Thank you!
