Very poor room condition compare to hotel at Berastagi. Not suitable to stay for more than one night.

Inexpensive hotel for 1 night (250, 000) as we missed the last ferry. We had an internal room so the windows opened into the hall unfortunately this meant we could here the other hotel guests who had what appeared to be a party, running between rooms, shouting and singing up to midnight and starting again around 5 am, no intervention from hotel staff to get them to stop or quieten down. Poor sleep. Bathroom could have been cleaner. We were up and checked out before 7am, a first for us considering the first ferry wasn't leaving until 8.30am. I would not recommend unless you are part of a group who want to have a party with no regard for others.

Old style hotel. Very affordable and close to the ferry and smaller boats to Palau Samosir, which is why I rate OK. View of Danau Toba from patio outside. No AC, but not needed at 900 m altitude.
Even with window closed on 3rd floor, suprising late night truck noise on the narrow street. Opened the window for cooling and suffered no mosquitoes. Wifey (Indonesian) hated the squat toilet and bucket bath, but I (bule) managed. The single bed was firm but the double bed was worn to feel the springs.
