Super OYO 598 Udan Mas Guesthouse& Gallery in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

How polite is the staff, and how are booking issues handled at Super OYO 598 Udan Mas Guesthouse & Gallery?

Guests describe the staff as unfriendly and note a lack of basic etiquette. Serious booking issues arise, including instances where rooms paid for through an app were given to other people. When guests attempted to resolve cancellation issues, staff behaved unprofessionally and offered inappropriate compensation options.

Are there any hidden fees at the hotel, and what payment methods are accepted?

Many visitors report systematic price deception. Despite paying through apps like Traveloka or Agoda, the management demands an additional fee of 50,000 IDR per room upon check-in, claiming that the prices on the apps are understated. In some cases, guests are asked to switch to manual payment on-site, with staff claiming the hotel no longer works with the OYO system.

What is the condition of the rooms and furniture, and do they match the photos?

The rooms at Super OYO 598 Udan Mas Guesthouse & Gallery do not match the photos and are in poor condition. Guests complain about dirt, dust, and worn-out interiors. The bedding is dirty and causes itching, the furniture is old, and some rooms lack necessary power outlets.

How is the ventilation, and are there any unpleasant odors in the rooms?

The rooms are very stuffy due to a lack of ventilation, and the installed fans are often out of order. Visitors complain of a strong smell of urine in the rooms and a sharp, foul odor from the sewage system in the bathrooms, resembling a septic tank leak.

How clean are the rooms and bathrooms?

The level of cleanliness is rated extremely low: there is a lot of dust in the rooms, and trash is left uncollected. Bathrooms are described as the most off-putting areas—they are dirty, with holes and cracks in the walls. In some rooms, the bathroom door locks do not work, and the water supply may suddenly cut off while showering.

Is the Wi-Fi reliable, and do the appliances work in the rooms?

The technical amenities in the rooms function poorly. Guests report that the Wi-Fi fails to connect, and the TVs in the rooms are either turned off or broken.

What is the atmosphere in the hotel like, and is outside noise audible?

The atmosphere at the guesthouse is described as gloomy, scary, and even eerie due to an abundance of statues and a collection of antique spears and daggers outside the rooms. It is very noisy inside: due to large groups of people gathering outside, noise can be heard almost until dawn, disturbing guests' rest.

Is the hotel pet-friendly, or are there animals on the property?

Reviews mention the presence of dogs on the hotel grounds, which proved to be a negative factor for some guests.
