Huma Yogyakarta Hostel

Beautiful hostel in a quiet neighbourhood close to the centre of Yogyakarta. The rooms were immaculate and there are lots of cosy common areas to chill out. The bathrooms were clean, spacious and always available. The staff were very friendly and were happy to assist us with recommendations.
The dorm room is configured in very private single beds and is far more private than a usual hostel dorm. The AC is set by reception and is comfortable for sleep. The lockers are spacious enough for all of your valuables.
Would highly recommend for a relaxing stay in Yogyakarta!

As a local, this was my first time staying at a hostel in Indonesia. Don’t worry about your privacy even though it’s a mixed dorm. The bathrooms are very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I really liked the smell of their soap — it’s so unique. I only stayed for one night, but they still allowed me to keep my suitcase there until the evening and even let me use their bathroom afterward. Put this place on your list — you should definitely stay here!

We absolutely loved our stay at Huma and even had to extend it because we loved Huma and Jojga so much. The staff are amazing and so helpful, there is always someone at the front desk, so whenever you need something they are there.
They recommended us some great places to eat and things to do.
The rooms are great, spacious and very clean.
The common spaces are great and it’s awesome to have a kitchen and a table to eat at. There is a huge table upstairs with beanbags, and is the perfect place to read a book.
The location is amazing! Everything is accessible and easy to access, there is a huge wall that surrounds that part of the city, so you need to walk around it, thankfully a gate is pretty close.

After 7 months of backpacking I found my favorite hostel. Huma is amazing! It’s beautiful, super clean, well equipped and the staff are phenomenal. Everything about it is great and I wish I could stay here everywhere I go.
The beds are comfy and cozy and allow for more privacy than in a standard dorm room. I slept so well here. There is ample common space to relax in and socialize with other travelers. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. There’s separate toilets, showers and sinks! The kitchen has everything you need to properly cook — stove, pots, pans, etc. There’s free coffee and tea every morning. Every staff member was so kind and helpful. One staff member even brought in cookies homemade by her parents. The check in process was great. I was greeted with a cold drink, a great attitude, and relaxed atmosphere.
If all this weren’t enough, it’s probably the best value for money hostel I’ve stayed at. Definitely stay here while in Yogyakarta!

Best hostel I've stayed in while I've been in Indonesia! Rooms were lovely with excellent Aircon, and the staff were all lovely and provided a bunch of good recommendation for things to do and places to eat in Yogya. Will deffo stay here again when I'm next in Indonesia.

Huma is a hostel with one of the best services. At an affordable price, they provide various facilities that can be shared with other residents. All staff are friendly, and what's most impressive is they implement a "pre-arrival check-in" procedure to ensure guest comfort. Excellent!

Small but clean and eco-friendly hostel with very friendly staff. The bathroom was impressive, surrounded by lots of trees, giving a really relaxing, nature-filled feeling. The area is peaceful and full of greenery. There’s also a lovely local garden coffee nearby. Great experience overall.

It was the right decision to stay in HUMA. It really feels like home. Even in shared dorm, room are spotless, structure very well organized and you can even got international friends. Toilets, room structures are well organized and cleaned. Customer services always responsive to help us whatever we need. What I really like is kitchen area. There are various staff if you want to cook or fried. Huma is also in a strategic location to go around Jogja. Don’t think twice just go and stay in HUMA when you are in Jogja.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Each bed is separated by walls, which provides a lot of privacy. Both the dorm and the bathroom were spotless, and the place was very quiet. It’s also easy to get around Yogyakarta from there using Grab or Gojek. Overall, it’s excellent value for money.

This place is super clean and very well maintained.
All the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, it truly feels like coming back to your hometown.
The air conditioning is cold, the Wi-Fi is fast, and everything just works perfectly.
Overall, an amazing stay with a warm, homey vibe. Highly recommended!

Huma Hostel feels like home, or at least the kind of home you wish you had. I stayed here for two nights for some me-time. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, yet it’s conveniently close to the center of Yogyakarta. The bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and common areas are all comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly, caring, and always on guard, which made me feel safe and at ease. I will definitely stay here again whenever I visit Yogyakarta.

The best hostel I’ve stayed at in Indonesia. The staff were the most welcoming, helpful and attentive bunch you could wish for. They made a slight mistake with my booking which meant I had to take a private room for one night instead of one of the dorm beds. I didn’t mind this as the private room was absolutely amazing, with the most beautiful jungle outside en-suite toilet and shower room. I was contacted personally by the owner and staff who made the mistake to apologise. The hostel was spotless and the beds really comfortable and felt secure and safe as a solo traveller. The common areas are lovely and comfortable and fit for someone looking for a sociable yet chill hostel experience. Definitely stay here if you come to Yogyakarta! The dorms were also incredible value at only £4.54 (roughly) per night.

I had a pleasant stay in Huma during my trip to Jogja last week. Originally planned to stay only for 2 days, I decided to extend my stay to almost a week because I simply had a great time there. Shout out to all Huma's staffs for always so welcoming and friendly, and I love how they always kept the facilities clean throughout the day. I also enjoyed the common areas that you can use to eat your takeaways, read books, or simply mingle with other travellers. Huma is located in a quiet neighbourbood but close to touristy spots and hip cafes, so you can do your own walking tour haha. Anyway, please keep up the great work Huma! Looking forward to stay there again soon 😄
