Not the most chique place, but it's the best place to relax after a day of travelling or visiting nice places nearby. The perfect spot for backpackers and openminded people.

It's one of the most amazing hostels I stayed in! The people from the hostel will help you out with everything, day trips, travel to other cities or just finding the best restaurants for youyou yogyakarta! In the amazing garden of the Sae-sae-hostel you can just chill out with other Backpackers! The hostel is clean and calm! I will come back, big thank you to everyone from the Hostel!

Stayed at SAE SAE 2 years ago and I still considered it one of the best hostels I've ever stayed it. Great rooms and really caring staff. It was more than just a feeling of home it was home.

Really nice hostel. The place is very very clean. The stuff is also very nice and helpful with great tips. As the private room is almost the same price as a dorm bed we moved. Unfortunately the private room had no air conditioning though. Still this place is great to hang and chill. No party hostel. Also the food you can buy here (avocado on toast, smoothie bowls) is very delicious, but a bit pricy. If you want to save money just go to the kitchen and cook :) I had great three nights here, besides the heat during the night, and would come again!

There are so many laugh and nice people in there. This is a cozy place to stay in jogja esspecialy for backpacker. You should try to stay in there.

Don't have much to add to the comments of other just that I agree — its a great hostel and the staff/owners have thought of pretty much everything. Had an amazing time, its the perfect location, wish I could have stayed longer. And to boy lets make your dream and my dream come true. We'll be in touch my brother! ✌❤️

Beautiful and comfortable. The garden is the best, the music playing quietly. Everything is very clean here and they provide a lot of services: Wi-Fi, free tea and coffee, hot shower… The staff is really nice to customers and they speak English very well. In front of the hostel there is a laundry.

We just left Sae Sae and we're already missing it! The rooms and shared bathrooms are very nice and clean, the garden is a great place to chill out and meet other travellers and the food you can get at the food corner is just delicious! BUT… what we will miss the most is the great atmosphere! Every single staff member was so friendly, helpfull and unique! As the owner, Boy did a great job as well! He's always in for a talk and for drinks He even took us to the movies! (Too bad Michelle wasn't there though. )

There is no 5 star hotel in the world that will provide you with the insights, love, and local contact that Sae Sae will! Boy and his team are some of the most talented open minded and amazing people I've met! Be prepared for singalong style music rounds with guitar, great food and dancing opportunities with some of the local crew they hang out with and a family like atmosphere I've never experienced before with total strangers! Sae Sae has completely changed the way I think about hostels and the way I will rate them from now on. It has been a great experience and if this beautiful country won't be enough of a reason for you to come back, be sure that Sae Sae will!

Great place to stay in Yogya — calm and friendly location designed with a lot of love. The staff can tell you a lot to do around Yogya, you can rent motorbikes for a good price and much more!

Great place to escape the hustle of Jogja. A hostel as hostels should be: warm, friendly, cheap and very gezellig, with great owners.

First hostel experience ever and I must say that it's a 10/10 for me! The location is pretty strategic, it will only take 10-15 minutes walk to a bunch of famous restaurants in Jogja. I honestly had zero expectations when a friend of mine made the reservation for us as I have never done this before but I was surprised with how homey it was. Slept in a bunk bed filled with probably around 8 to 10 beds. Each bed are facilitated with electrical sockets, reading lamp, mini bedsi…de table, towel and a blanket. It's very convenient for the price. Toilets are unexpectedly clean as well. They have around 7 toilets I think, so you don't need to wait around for other people to finish. Other than that, they made a kitchen that everyone can use. You can make your own coffee or tea 24/7. If you're not comfortable making your own breakfast or dinner, they have 2 mini restaurants as well. Both have great selections. I regret only eating there once for breakfast and on my last day because it was actually really good. The chef is also very friendly. Service wise, everyone is very kind, friendly and helpful. I would love to thank mas Boy and Michelle for being such great hosts and I wish you both good luck continuing the journey of this awesome place. All in all, if you're trying to look for a place to stay in Jogja that feels a lot more than just a place to sleep then this is it! I will most definitely revisit.
