Losmanos Hostel

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in during my travels. It accommodates for a smaller amount of travellers (and books out sometimes! ) so there’s a great sense of community, it’s easy to meet other people as a solo traveller. The area has a cool vibe, very artsy and warm, and it supports local artists. There’s even a tattoo studio on site, got a piece on my arm that looks epic. Thank you Aldy, Aldo, Eddy, Ray and the wonderful staff.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Losmanos, and I cannot recommend it enough! This hostel is a true gem—clean, cozy, and full of artistic charm that makes it feel like a home away from home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for social butterflies. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to answer any question and assist with whatever you need. They truly make you feel like part of the Losmanos family, going above and beyond to ensure you’re comfortable and having a great time.
The hostel offers delicious coffee and drinks, as well as amazing breakfast options like fruit granola bowls and fresh omelets. If you’re looking for a place to relax, meet new people, or get involved in daily activities, Losmanos has it all. They have social events every day, making it easy to find interesting conversations and connect with fellow travelers. Plus, they have two adorable dogs—Mokka and Kanye—that you’ll fall in love with and never want to leave behind!
I also had the chance to take a bike-driving lesson with Aldor, who was hands-down the best teacher I’ve ever had. His calm and patient approach made me feel completely at ease as I learned to navigate the bustling streets of Yogyakarta. Aldor gradually increased the difficulty of the lessons, which helped me gain confidence, and by the end, I felt safe riding through the crazy traffic (as safe as you can feel in Yogyakarta’s streets, haha!

Got what you paid for, cheap and cheerful. Didn’t seem to ru many activities/ wasn’t very social.
The pool was really nice in this heat. They have beer here and offer some food. The room was basic with a fan for 2 beds but it was okay for a night or two.
Their dog can be a bit much.

Very social hostel, with activities (beer pong, dinner, bars etc) every night. Nice pool that they cleaned regularly. Lockers for valuables. The non-AC dorm had more beds than fans — not an issue as it was half empty when I visited, but I could see that being problematic if it is very hot and busy.

Losmanos is a great hostel: clean, comfortable, calm and relaxed, great location and great service. The artsy decoration and leafy pool area add to the charm of the place. Group activities like going out for dinner or drinks are on offer if you feel like meeting people. We had the twin bed room and it was clean and comfortable.
But what we enjoyed most were our long and interesting conversation with the owners Aldy, Aldo and their staff. We would have stayed longer and we would go there again and again!

Intersting activity everyday. Owner and staff are local artists. They light you up everyday. The room is decorated with art. And the house is made of wood in traditional way. You can rent scooter and explore this beautiful city.

Wanted to stay for 2 Nights originally, eventually had been stuck for 3 Weeks. Love them guys working there, great place!

Friendly staff, and a chill place. The bathrooms could use some work, and they are outside and "far" from the rooms, but that's just a minor inconvenience.
The ac isn't really working, but it's was cold enough.

This hostel is so fun with great people! You can even get tattood for a good price and the artists are really professional. I had an amazing time and would love to come back some day.

The hostel is very social and nice to chill out for a bit. They offer to do tours with you and help you to book them as well. They also have mosquito netz for each bed to protect against the mosquitos. I planned to stay there for a week but extended and stayed for two weeks.

Accommodation was great, it was nice being able to cool down in the pool during the excruciating heat. What made this hostel golden was it beautiful staff! They made sure that everyone had a good time. I'm for sure going back when I'm in Yogya again.

The place feels super cozy, with every spot looking nice and pretty, and the guards are really friendly too, definitely deserving five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed there for 3 nights, and I had the best time!
The owners/staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a great time with them, and they create a special social environment between them and the guests. There are many activities you can participate in, and you can also just chill at the hostel.
They also have a sweet dog:)
It is one of our favourite hostels ever, it’s definitely worth a visit!

During my stay at Losmanos Hostel in Indonesia, I had a mixed experience, but overall, it was a memorable one.

On the bright side, the service provided by the staff and the interactions with fellow guests were excellent, earning a solid 5 out of 5. The hostel's staff was friendly, accommodating, and always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. Moreover, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly people staying at the hostel made it a pleasant social experience.
In terms of amenities and offerings, I would rate Losmanos Hostel 4 out of 5. The hostel provided a decent range of facilities and services that catered to travelers' needs. From communal areas to relax and socialize to useful amenities such as free Wi-Fi, it offered most of the essentials for a comfortable stay.
Despite the minor drawbacks, my overall stay at Losmanos Hostel was enjoyable. The positive aspects, such as the friendly service and the opportunity to meet fellow travelers, outweighed the room's shortcomings. If you're looking for a budget-friendly and social accommodation option in Indonesia, Losmanos Hostel could be an appealing choice.
