We paid extra and book the executive type room, but upon check in was got downgraded to the business room instead. Hotel blamed Agoda for display incorrect pricings.
Staff said the price we paid was actually for their "cheapest room" and they give us "upgraded" room instead of our actual room. 🤣 What a gaslight.
This was our first time experiencing a downgrade from a hotel. Definitely not our fault, but we're the one at disadvantaged.
It's not about the price, we know it's a budget hotel. But we expect to get what we chose and paid on the app. We're not asking for bonuses or any complimentary upgrades.
Actually I enjoyed my previous stay at this hotel so decided to re-book this hotel again. But this experience was definitely ruined our mood for the trip.
Sidenote : we're not blaming the reception staff who handled us with great manner and tried to help us. His manager was the one that insist to downgraded us and put him at a very difficult situation between us, but decision was made. He need to comply and we had no choice.
Sincerely hope this kind of experience won't happen again to other guests. Maybe hotel can at least check with Agoda to correct the data pricing so this mistake won't happen again to others.
