Royal Safari Garden Resort & Convention in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Royal Safari Garden Resort & Convention located, and what is nearby?

The resort is located in the Cisarua area of Bogor, along Jalan Raya Puncak — Gadog. A local market, various dining options, and minimarkets are located within convenient walking distance. The hotel is close to Taman Safari Indonesia; however, guests note the lack of a dedicated complimentary shuttle to the park, requiring the use of ride-hailing services whose drivers sometimes overcharge. The air in this area is very cool and fresh thanks to the abundance of trees.

Does the hotel have parking, and what are the terms of its use?

The hotel provides two parking areas: one outside to the left of the main entrance, and another in the basement. Guests staying in certain buildings (such as Cendrawasih) have the option to park their vehicle directly in front of their room. Parking is complimentary for guests, and free helmet storage lockers are also available in the lobby. However, one guest noted that the process of obtaining complimentary exit clearance can be inconvenient, as it requires tapping an electronic card with a staff member.

How polite and prompt is the staff?

Most guests describe the staff as very friendly, helpful, and professional, specifically commending team members named Mulyana, Asep, Habibah, and Elisah. Many note that the staff are readily available to assist with luggage and property navigation. Nevertheless, there are some negative reviews: several guests complained about rude security personnel at the entrance toward public transport passengers and unfriendly internal shuttle (wara-wiri) drivers. Delays in responding to requests for extra beds or towel replacements were also mentioned.

What kind of breakfast does the hotel offer, and how varied is the food?

Breakfast is served buffet-style with a very wide selection of dishes, including an assortment of pastries, yogurts, fruits, rice, noodles, and curries. Guests note that the menu is child-friendly and generally of high quality. However, lines can form during peak periods, and some guests reported an insufficient number of high chairs. The restaurants also offer "All You Can Eat" options for dinner and Iftar, which receive high praise for their taste and variety, particularly the Middle Eastern and Indonesian dishes.

What is the quality of the Wi-Fi, and is drinking water provided in the rooms?

Guests report that the in-room Wi-Fi is very fast and stable. Regarding drinking water, bottled water and beverages (such as Teh Pucuk) are provided in the rooms, along with an electric kettle and a coffee, tea, and sugar setup.

How is the soundproofing and comfort in the rooms?

Soundproofing in some buildings, particularly Panda, is rated as poor: guests can hear neighboring conversations, televisions, and even alarm clocks. The beds and mattresses are generally described as comfortable, soft, and clean, with some rooms featuring large King-size beds. However, there are complaints regarding wear and tear on furniture and finishes: certain rooms have aging walls, dim yellow lighting, occasional spiders in the corners, and bed linens that appear slightly grayish.

Is regular housekeeping provided, and how clean are the rooms?

Many guests are pleased with the cleanliness and pleasant fragrance in the rooms, noting that the staff proactively offer housekeeping services. On the other hand, there are notable complaints regarding sanitary conditions in certain rooms, including mentions of a urine smell in the bathroom, cockroaches, and moldy pillows. Some guests also noted that towels in the older wings look worn and need replacement.

How do the air conditioning and ventilation work in the rooms?

The air conditioning system works properly; however, due to the cool climate of the Puncak region, many guests do not turn on the AC, as the rooms are naturally cool and fresh. Unpleasant odors from the ventilation systems are not mentioned in most reviews.

What amenities are provided in the rooms, and is there a safe?

Rooms are equipped with basic toiletries, a hairdryer, toothbrushes, and shaving kits; in some buildings, shampoo and soap are provided in large dispenser bottles. There is an in-room safe for valuables. A common issue raised is the absence of a handheld bidet spray in the restrooms—built-in systems are used instead, which are not always convenient for children.

What swimming pools and water activities are available on-site?

The hotel features a large water park (Splash Waterpark), which includes one deep pool, three children's pools, and one heated pool. Guests highlight the cleanliness of the pools and the entertaining foam parties, although the water in the main pools can be quite cold. Pool access is complimentary for staying guests, and towels are available at the entrance.

What entertainment and activities are available for guests?

The hotel offers a comprehensive range of leisure activities: a mini-zoo with 90 animal species, giraffe and zebra feeding, and bird feeding in an aviary. Outdoor activities include a zip line (flying fox), horseback riding, camel and elephant rides, mini-golf, bumper cars, and bumper boats. Educational animal shows are also conducted. It is important to note that many attractions require an additional fee, which can lead to significant extra expenses.

Is Royal Safari Garden Resort & Convention suitable for families with children?

It is an ideal destination for family vacations thanks to the abundance of children's zones, the water park, and the opportunity for direct interaction with animals. There is a play area in the lobby for children aged 0 to 5 years. The hotel provides a kids' menu in its restaurants, although high chairs can occasionally be in short supply during peak hours. Children thoroughly enjoy the themed rooms (Leopard, Giraffe, Elephant) and the numerous playgrounds.

What complimentary amenities and special services does the hotel offer?

The hotel offers room decoration services for birthday celebrations, which guests appreciate. Club members receive perks such as cute plush toy gifts.

One night stay for my wife b'day. Additional Special request decor for the room, and it was pretty and aesthetics! My wife got lucky bcs thanks to the hotel they upgrade our room into girrafe executives for free. Room was clean, spacious. Everything was perfect and my wife is so happy. Went to bird aviary in the afternoon, got to meet white merak and it so beautiful! Also went to reptile island and saw some snakes, phyton, even a croco. Breakfast with the animal, eating behind glass door with meerkat, dusky wallaby, zebra, even blue iconic merak! Food all taste really good. My wife love the lontong sayur so much and ate 4 omellete eggs bcs it's also really good. Got serve coffee by a very friendly Ibu Elisah, latte and cappucino is actually really good too. We had a really good time here and worth every penny.

The room was comfortable and clean, perfect for a family staycation. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices and everything tasted delicious. What I loved most is that the hotel is very kid-friendly, with plenty of play areas and activities for children, so they can have fun and won’t get bored during their stay. 😊
Overall, we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended for a family vacation! ❤️

Great experience. 1 of the staff name Anjani from F&B provided outstanding service and was exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. The entire resort team was kind and welcoming, creating a pleasant experience. The only issue was the toilet, which could have been cleaner and fresher. Aside from that, the resort delivered great hospitality overall.
