From 5*s down to 2*s because of the restaurant!
Located close to the mall and numerous restaurants which is lucky because the hotel restaurant is a poor joke!

We came to the restaurant on the first night, a special night when I proposed to my partner. (He said yes 🥰)
The whole evening was poor and ruined our night! The menu was sold out of many items.
We both ordered starters and mains. My partners choices were available, mine were not. I had to order twice.
THEN my partners foods (yes both starter and main) were served at the same time while I had nothing, waiting for 2nd choice order. We came for dinner to EAT TOGETHER, NOT SEPERATELY. So my partners meals were sent back until my order was ready and AGAIN the kitchen sent ALL food at the same time!. By the time we finished our starters our mains were COLD! So, AGAIN we sent them back to the kitchen, NO-ONE wants to eat cold food unless it is advertised as a cold dish.
My partners main, Beef Ribs were like RUBBER and my Nasi Goreng Seafood was tasteless, lacking seasoning and the small amount of seafood was a joke, there was even an extra prawn head by itself! No quality control on the pass.
I had a meeting with the manager on duty (and also the Executive Chef) and was assured it was not the normal…

So I thought I would try the restaurant again, alone on this occasion. And guess what! The same story… out of this and out of that with poor excuses. This is Indonesia and Satay is a national staple, yet they were sold out of Satay yet again! So I cancelled my orders, drank my juice and left.
I walked around the corner and found this wonderful little cafe, Tanagori Cafe & Resto (see separate review), casual but very very good, and with live guitarist duo, excellent.
A much safer choice, forget the hotel restaurant and look elsewhere…
The ONLY plus (and I mean ONLY) is the suite (218) with a comfortable bed and a relaxing lounge area and balcony (suite)
We will come back for the suite ONLY but never again will we set foot in the restaurant, it is a disgraceful joke, sad but true.
I do not sugar coat my revews (see the other 2000+ reviews I have written), if something is good I will praise it and if something is bad, well this review speaks those words.
As a 5* Executive Chef (of 35+ years) with a world renowned hotel group, I know my job and it is a shame that Batiqua do not.
Lift your game Batiqa.
Too my 1000's of readers and followers, don't waste your time in the restaurant.
