Excellent hotel with Spa (Sauna etc), pool and gym. Rooms are new and very clean. Perfect view from the floor and out of the room.
On Sunday they offered free chocolate tasting for all members of ACCOR.
Shopping centre for electronics next to the hotel with the best bakery in town (named Bareby's).
Our recommodation: buffet dinner at the 7th floor. Very tasty food (local as well as international) and the best service by Dimas and his team. We can only congratulate the hotel and its manager to this sympathic employees. You will meet us again.

I recently stayed at Mövenpick Surabaya City and came away feeling that this is a very good value-for-money 5-star hotel. The rate was very affordable for a property in this category, yet the overall experience still felt very much like a proper 5-star stay.
As an Accor Platinum member, I was happy to receive the usual recognition, including a complimentary room upgrade to a Deluxe Room, welcome amenities, and free breakfast. Another nice touch was the complimentary afternoon tea at the Level 7 restaurant, which added extra value to the stay.
The room was modern, comfortable, and nicely designed. I liked the overall feel of the room, and it came with a work desk that, while not very large, was still just nice enough for me to set up my laptop, MacBook, and gadgets comfortably. For a short business stay, it worked well enough. I also appreciated the complimentary drinks and snacks provided in the room.
The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout the stay, which made the experience even better. Service was warm and professional, and that always makes a difference.
The gym was also quite decent. It is not huge, but the equipment looked well maintained and perfectly adequate for a proper workout. The pool area is another highlight, with a modern and relaxing atmosphere that suits the overall upscale feel of the hotel.
That said, there are a couple of points worth mentioning. For a 5-star Accor hotel, I was a little surprised that there is no executive lounge.

Affordable mid hotel if you need a room for the night before heading off for Bromo sunrise. Otherwise the hotel is due for an upgrade; you can tell it is dated and wear and tear visible. Hotel lighting is also generally dim which adds to the aged look. Note proper sound proofing seems non-existent; and you can hear the chatter and even doorbell of your neighbour; as well as traffic from 17 floors up. It definitely does not help either that a train track run right in front of the hotel and a honking train seems to pass by every 20mins.

Excellent Team Members here at Mövenpick in Surabaya City. I made sure to share this with Mr. Toat, GM, whom I met as he went about on his walks around the floors. Mr. Toat was indeed impressive as a hands-on, approachable and visible leader.
My room was excellent, and well-maintained. Housekeeping was world-class, thanks to Mr. Dian and his Manager, Mr. Kiki.
A highlight was the F&B Teams, who went the extra miles to look after me. Thank you indeed to Mr. Otto, Mr. Vidi, Mr. Dimas, and Ms. Dwi.
Front Office were very accommodating, particularly when I extended my stay. Excellent team service led by Mr. Sam, including my regular interactions with Mr. Febri, Ms. Mila and Ms. Syarifa.

Hotel have a very kind and helpful FO staff, my check in and check out process was so smooth and fast. Room is comfortable and spacious, wonderful thing is the buffet breakfast really tasteful and has various menu, the gluten free and sugar free pastry is the wonderful thing for me. Car park is good and all the staff is very helpful. Not to far with Waru Toll Road so easy access when want to go this hotel. Overall my stay here is very nice experience. Thank you.

Had a very pleasant stay in Room 1121. Special thanks to Tiara from the Reservation team and the housekeeping team for their excellent service. Tiara was very responsive, kind, and proactive—she suggested combining the 2 super single beds to make it more comfortable for our baby, which helped us a lot.
The housekeeping staff were also very helpful and efficient. He even suggested to combine the sofa to make it as a baby crib.
Overall, the service made our stay much more comfortable as parents traveling with an infant.
One small suggestion: I hope Mövenpick can consider having more baby cribs available, as there was only one crib for the entire hotel. That would be a great improvement for families with young children.

A highly recommended 5-star hotel. The room boasts a luxurious design supported by upscale facilities, including a plush mattress, a large wardrobe complete with drawers and a mini-fridge, and a cozy window seat for lounging while enjoying the view of Surabaya city.
It features a well-sized work desk and a comfortable, swivel chair. The water heater is provided, along with a selection of sachet coffee and tea. The bathroom is clean, luxurious, and well-stocked with soap and towels.
The service is exceptionally satisfying, starting from the entrance where you are greeted by friendly and helpful security guards, to the courteous and swift receptionists. The meeting rooms are excellent, featuring good lighting, a large, high-resolution videotron, and super-fast Wi-Fi.
The hotel has a strategic location.

My stay in movenopick surabaya, is not a good experience. I stay for 1 night. After check in, I found out the room was hot, AC was on but can not make the room cooler. Hotel technician came and tried to fix it but to no avail. We were waiting inside the hot room for almost 1 hour until they prepare the much better room.
I thought the hotel should prepare the room in much better way, and not selling room with trouble aircon.
I have stayed in this hotel several times, but this kind of service was not at the movenpick standard at all.
Hope they will fix it.

Upon arrival I made it clearly to the valet parking that luggage had to be taken out of the car. Valet parking was going to park the car without tskkng the luggage out of the car. I insited at the check in reception about the luggage. The lady at check in called the valet parking who finally got the message and took the luggage out if the car.
The welcome afternoon tea was excellent. We had to wait for more than 40 minutes to get the afternoon tea. The food was very good, however there was no complexity in the food preparation that would have justified to wait for 40 minutes. We were the only customers in the restaurant and there were six persons cooking in the open kitchen.
At the breakfast, I ordered an orange juice which took too long to be delivered. I finally left the breakfast room without having the orange juice.
The staff was very well aware of my Diamond Status as I was upgraded to an executive suite and I had a table reserved for the breakfast.

A warm welcome at check-in, with our Gold status recognised was a perfect start to our short stay.
The property is well situated and has a number of malls and attractions nearby.
It used to be a Grand Mercure and the renovations have enhanced the look and design of the hotel. It is modern and clean, without being cold. We felt very welcome throughout our stay.
We loved our room in both terms of decor and facilities. We can’t fault anything. It is the first hotel I can remember, where we received a “Good Night”on our television screen, which was a cute touch!
Looking forward to a longer stay next time. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my stay at Mövenpick Surabaya City. The hotel is modern, beautifully maintained, and offers a calm, relaxing atmosphere perfect for both business and leisure. The afternoon tea was a real highlight — beautifully presented with a lovely selection of sweet and savoury bites, served in a stylish setting. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the staff throughout the hotel were warm, attentive, and professional. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning on my next trip to Surabaya.

Excellent experience by Movenpick Surabaya! Nice and clean rooms, great food, awesome services from reception, room service and the restaurant, Ms Vida and team in F&B has been very helpful and care. There is much things to do including kids activity during breakfast time. Accor Plus Platinum benefit are well accomodated from beginning and during the stay.

The hotel is delightful, definitely a nice place to stay! The service is splendid. However, I personally think the breakfast is not that good, though variety of menu.

Despite the location is a bit far from city, but Im amazed with the room layout and new ambiance. Make me feel like stay at home. But one improvement, your gym is super bad.

Hotel's great — room is comfortable, amenities are sufficient and the staff is great. If I had to nitpick, I wished the buffet had a bit more variety and the gym is a little on the small side (and I wished it opened at 5am instead of 6am). Oh, also, the location is a bit of a challenge. It was right in front of the railway track so imagine the noise and there's nothing much within walking distance (though to be fair, there's nothing the hotel could do about that). All in all, still a good stay for the price paid.
