Aston Inn Jemursari

I stayed in room 336 for 3 days 2 nights. The check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly, so first impressions were actually good. Since this hotel is part of a well-known chain, I had quite high expectations. The price is fair enough, but honestly, they could’ve done much better when it comes to maintenance.
They placed me in a corner room quite far from the elevator. I wanted to request a change but didn’t have the energy to complain, so I just went with it. When I entered the room, the air conditioning was already on, but it didn’t work properly at all. Even after setting it to 17°C for two days straight, the room stayed warm, not cool or comfortable.
Then, the hairdryer didn’t work at all. The engineering team came and replaced it, but the new one also didn’t work properly, which was disappointing. On top of that, there was no bathmat in the bathroom on the first day. I only got one after requesting a room makeup on the second day.
The only good thing about the room was the Google Assistant feature, that was actually quite nice and convenient. But aside from that, nothing really impressed me. The management seriously needs to do better in terms of maintenance and room quality.
Overall, I’m not satisfied with my stay at this property. I chose this hotel because it’s under Archipelago management, but sadly, it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was exceptionally clean throughout my visit, which really made a difference in my comfort level. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary room upgrade, which was a nice touch that showed great customer service.

The room comes with a balcony and a smoking room, since it is at level 2, there is no nice views. Room is clean. However, the toilet drainage system is not that good, caused flood. And there were no bathmat provided.
The service was great. Staff is friendly.
Location is not quite ideal. Need to take grab to go to malls. But there are marts located maybe within a 5 to 10 minutes walk.

Nice place. Comfortable and spacious room. They had forgotten to provide towels. There's a Google nest device instead of a phone which you must use to call the reception. It didn't work sometimes which was disappointing. I had to go down to lobby to request towels as the Google next wouldn't understand my command to call the operator. What's wrong with a phone to make the guest's life easier rather than expecting to be tech savvy. At least provide some guidance tutorial near the device on how to use it. Shower was also acting up. It kept changing the temperature although I didn't move the faucet. Sometimes get really hot and sometimes get really cold while having a bath which is dangerous. Pls fix this.

My first time stay here with a bad experience. Location is not the best. Room key cards did not work during check in. Had to change key cards 3 times. Some power sockets in the room did not work. Shower water pressure was inconsistent and water came out either cold at once or extremely hot. There were toilet flies (the insects) in the toilet and on bed. Won't be returning to this hotel.

As expected of Aston. The room is clean, bed is comfy but It make some noice when the kids move a lil bit hard on the bed.
I ordered a single queen bed but it turns out 2 single bed assembled as one.
As for the staffs are very friendly.
There's small gym and pool too, they're on 7th floor. Pool on your left, gym on the right.

The service was great. Parking was limited but pose no problem since the valet service was free and helpful. Bathroom drainage was a little bit clogged, but overall it was a good stay.

Great room with few minor glitch. Woke up at first morning, suddenly the AC is leaking. But the technician is pretty fast to solve it. Call restaurant twice, but nobody is picking up. Nevertheless, room is way higher quality compared to other 3 stars.
Breakfast is serving various food selection, taste good, but coffee quality can be enhanced.

We are in a vacation in Surabaya and had to choose this hotel.
The room was nice. We had granted a free upgrade from Superior to Deluxe room due to fully booked (thanks for this). However…
Mini fridge in our 620 room was not working! Bad smell was coming from the bathroom drain. There is not enough parking space for our car so they directed us to the nearest warehouse to park.
Also, the security staffs were pretty rude (no smile given and they looked at us as if we were criminal or something (objectively speaking) ). We previously stayed at ASTONinn Batu and security staff attitude was completely different 🤬🤬.
We are glad that we only booked for just a night because of this. Sorry for the bad review but I had to do this for your audit. Thanks.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff an managing personel. The location is not close to the city center but in between the city center and the airport. Breakfast and diner are good. We didn't eat lunch at the hotel.

Bad experience, room not cleaned at 3pm must be request to cleaned, towel at pool not available, and the hotel price not worthed with the service… even the baverage not worted with price, the room so noisy, parking area not available must be use request. Everythin always slow respon and the result is bad experience stay at aston in.

The hotel is small, reception took time to do registration coz we have to scan with barcode then write down our name and identity. They gave only 1 key card so there is a problem when we are staying with a familly especially when our car is handled by valet man and we left some goods in the car because they informed us that our car is parked out side of the hotel and the distance 80 meters from the hotel. We saw an empty parking place in the basement and we wanna park our car there and the valet man told us, it is mandatory to be handled by valet from the hotel so we can not park our car by ourself. For the room amenities, they only prepared 1 tooth brush, our air conditioner leaked and water everywhere and many thanks for the enginering department. The restaurant staff was so helpfull, thank you for the food and beverage department.

It was a fairly good experience with Aston Inn Surabaya. The room was good enough with their facilities, and I really appreciated the water jug and dispenser to reduce the consumption of bottled water. Breakfast was pretty good, with a mostly Asian food selection, though there were pastries, bread, and eggs.
Feedback:
I can't have a breakfast as early as 6 am because I have to catch my flight before that, so I ordered an early takeaway box for my breakfast a night before in the reception, and the staff offered to let me take it in the reception at 5 am, which is good. Eventually, in the morning, at around 5.05 am, when I get to the reception, the staff says that there was a miscommunication that the takeaway was ready by 6.30 am. Because I can't wait until that time, I just leave the card for the check-out.
I can understand that you can't have such an immediate change to the kitchen team, because they have work for food preparation as well. Hopefully, there will be better communication between departements on the next occasion.

I think the hotel is not at the main street since the road is narrow for 2 cars to pass. I ordered online taxi and decided to wait at the bank beside the hotel. At that moment, the hotel's parking area was full. The security guard at that bank was complaining and asking us to get in car at somewhere else.
The services are good like another Archipelago's standard. But it would be nice if there were a staff to help me bring luggage through the steps into the lobby.
And don't forget about the Google Nest! It's amazing and hillarious experience having it as the room's assistant. I'm not sure whether I can watch Netflix and Disney+ on TV, it asks me to log in before continue.
Some points that should take more improvements:
1. Floody floor in bathroom and you can't expect to be dry soon or over a night. The house keeping staffs are really helpful.
2. The space of balcony is too tiny. It seems dangerous if you are standing from higher floors.
3. The aircon sometimes drips. Luckily, there is carpet below so won't be so messy. I put the bin to catch the dripping water.
Anyway I stay here for transit to airport which is still okay. It takes me 25-30 minutes to reach with almost no traffic. Maybe I will experience another Archipelago's hotel for the next visit.
