This place gave me great energy for the next few weeks. I came there to hike to Ijen volcano. Ben, host of the place, took care of booking place for me on that. He is the kindest host I had in Indonesia, he takes a great care of the place, guests and, he cooks delicious meals☺️ I recommend that place to every backpacker who likes places with a soul this one definitely has one 💚
My partner and I have never felt more welcome! Benny and Berry, along with the family and many friends, provided a constant stream of smiles and friendliness and true warm hospitality. Benny’s wife fed us incredible food and their daughter is an angel. Benny and Berry not only answered every question we had about Java and beyond, but they even offered their own knowledge and recommendations which contributed to our incredible Banyuwangi stay. They helped us organize a scooter, where to find the best spicy food, how to get to the train station at 4:00AM, and more and more. Our trip to Ijen was a breeze thanks to Berry and his tips. I 100% recommend staying with them as well as taking a tour, you won’t regret it. Benny and Berry speak excellent English and we had amazing conversations, which I’m still thinking about and dwelling on the lessons that I learned from these truly wonderful people. Not only did we feel safe and comfortable, but we also had a great time and felt like we made true friends.

Staying here feels like visiting a good friend. Benn and his family make you feel like at home. He organizes an Ijen tour for you, his aunt makes breakfast and also dinner if you like. And we just had the best conversations.
The accommodation is basic, but with all we needed. The Wi-Fi works well. There is a mosque nearby that you will hear, but that’s the most normal thing on Java.
