Ijen Miner Family Homestay

The rooms are humble but nicely set up, the bathroom could use some work but The hosts' hospitality more than make up for the small things. They're the best!
Also, I learned that you should avoid Booking. Com amd purchase stays directly!

Great local place close to Ijen. The family who owns the place goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. They shared food with us and guided us how to get to the crater. The owner even woke up in the middle of the night to drive with us.
Beautiful nature and garden.
Highly recommend!

I stayed here late October, Paktos and his family have proved to be fantastic hosts! It’s closer from the Ijen than staying in the city, gives your a ride through an authentic village. The family is really nice, I rented a gas mask from them, they bought the ticket to Ijen in my stead in a record time as they are miners, they know the ropes.
All in all my experience at Ijen was great thanks to them.

We booked hotel for my trip to Ijen. Arrived there in the evening. The way to get there was really difficult. The location also hard to find. When we arrived, nobody there and it was really creepy. Actually we couldn’t imagine to stay there, but still we tried to contact the number mentioned also not active. We gave up and found another place to stay. Was horrible way to find it.

Couldn’t have been a better experience.
Arrived late to the incredibly hospitable owner and his family. They had tours and gear available-we took just the gear. And they made us some delicious nasi goreng, nice and convenient as it was late at night.
We saw our host as we were doing the hike and he led us to the base camp when he was taking a tour up. If you do ijen, stay here!

Only 45min of road to go to Ijen. This place is so peaceful, Ali was so kind with me and help me to go to Ijen. I recommend this hostel!

If you are planning to go to the Ijen Volcano you should definitely go there.
It’s located in a small village full of really friendly locals. The village is in the middle of the jungle and the vegetation in the Village is just awesome. The stay there was really nice the room is clean and just awesome and the owner and his family is the topic. They are so friendly and bring you tea every morning. They just cook in their house kitchen and the food there is amazing I been two weeks in Indonesia and never had a Nasi or Me Goreng like that. They also prepared the food so sweet with crackers and other things just lovely.
They also organised a tour four us which went very well. We loved to stay there.

Nice hotel in the middle of the jungle. Rooms and bathroom are simple, but environment is very nice. You can expect cold shower and room with double bed, but everything is clean and very nice. There are no mosquitos! Owner, his Dad and mom are very kind. You can also buy one of the best mia and nasi goreng that I ate in Indonesia. It's also good start point for trek to Ijen. You can go there with owner.

This place is reasonably priced accommodation. It was the closest that we could find to the gate for the Ijen volcano climb. We left there at 3am the next morning and it almost took us an hour by scooter to get to the car park at the beginning of the climb. The entrance to the start of the climb opens at 4am, as does the ticket office, so you first have to wait in line to get a ticket. Unless it is organised as part of a tour in advance.
Beware that it is a very bumpy, narrow road to get to this accommodation. We arrived late in the dark with two people on one scooter and were lost a few times because GPS wasn't working well there. There is a little shortcut road that is not on Google maps for the very last section. We were low on fuel and exhausted but the owner helped me find fuel from one of his neighbours. The neighbours invited me in, even at the late hour. They were very welcoming — one of them is a sulfur miner — they offered me tea and biscuits. I bought fuel and they charged me the same price I'd pay at the pump.
I also hired two masks from the owner of the hotel for 50, 000 idr each.
The room has a reed wall to the neighbouring room so you could here everything from your neighbour — conversation, toilet, everything. The bathroom was pretty dirty and there was no hot water.
The owner let me hold one of his baby goats. Overall I would recommend but can't give it 5 stars.

As the name suggests, ijen miner family homestay is a place where you can stay and also learn more about the back stories of being a miner and their families. It is a good experience, and the next day, adi was our guide up ijen. He was very conscientious, kind, encouraging us every step of the way, and we experienced the beauty and magnitude of ijen — the blue fire (spectacular! ), the gas clouds (could live without), the views and really, I think I would not have enjoyed ijen that much if not for adi, so kudos to him.
Regarding ijen miner family homestay, I like that it is sited within a village where I think everyone is a miner or related to that. Very authentic and the people are warm and friendly. The landscape of the place itself is gorgeous, and while the amenities are basic, I thought it was all pretty good and it is a place I would highly recommend. Had a comfortable sleep before the hike.
