From Malaysia, we stayed here for our trip to Kawah Ijen. Honestly this place is perfect for me. The restaurant here sangat sedap — saya order seafood soup noodles. Customer service from the restaurant staffs, receptionists and other staffs are good and really helpful. The place is beautiful with old school and classic vibes. I am mesmerized with all the paintings around this place. I ate my hot noodles soup with the cold breeze, looking at the nice decorations in the restaurant, while observing the greenery of the view in front of me — such a nice vibe. I really love it. Thank you Baratha Hotel.
We stayed here for our trip to Ijen. It was a good spot and had good food to select from. The bathroom was nice and the rooms were clean. I recommend this place for those searching for a hotel nearby.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and raised serious safety concerns.
We booked two rooms and checked in on Christmas Day, Dec 25, 2025, planning an Ijen Crater adventure. Unfortunately, I fell ill and stayed behind while my friends left for the tour at around 11:30 PM. While I was resting alone in my room, a hotel staff member suddenly entered without knocking. Startled, I immediately stood up and shouted, “Why are you opening my room? ” The staff looked shocked, clearly assuming the room was empty.
After this alarming incident, I felt unsafe and barricaded the door with my belongings, unable to sleep the entire night. The next morning, I reported the issue to the front desk, asking why someone would enter my room in the middle of the night. The receptionist casually replied, “He wanted to replace the linens. ” This explanation was unacceptable—who performs room service at midnight, especially when guests have not checked out?
To make matters worse, the incident was not escalated to management, and no one approached us to apologize. My friends had to insist on raising the complaint, and only after our conversation with the supervisor and assistant manager did we receive an apology letter and confirmation that the staff received a warning.
This experience was traumatic and completely unacceptable. We strongly suspect the staff entered the room assuming it was empty, possibly with ill intentions. If that was the case, we hope justice prevails.
