The room is okay, well equipped with smart tv. Breakfast is okay. Three points that need to be improved:
1. Need curtains to cover the windows. We don't wanna wake up at 5 am due to sunlight.
2. The onsen water needs to be freeflowing, and not follow a fixed time. And the water needs to be HOTTER, at least 4 degrees hotter. Or make it adjustable.
3. Too MANY flies, hygiene is an issue, especially at the restaurant. There seems to be an issue with waste management with that many flies flying around.
Staying at The Onsen Resort Batu was an amazing and relaxing experience. The Japanese concept is felt from the moment you arrive, with its peaceful atmosphere and simple yet elegant design. The onsen area was my favorite part—it was clean, warm, and incredibly calming, especially after a long day of activities. The room was comfortable, tidy, and thoughtfully designed with Japanese-style details that made it feel special. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this resort is perfect for anyone who wants to unwind, enjoy a unique Japanese vibe, and have a comfortable stay in Batu.

(+) Love the rooms, I stayed in Shinjuku cottage. It was so cozy and clean. The natural air is about 25-18 Celsius, cool and very fresh mountain air enough for me. No need air conditioner but they provide an air cooler unit in the room.
(+) Buggy car is always ready to pickup and deliver the guests to and from public area to the cottage.
(+) Wide & clean area, so tempting for jogging although the terain was up & downhill, quite challenging.
(-) The onsen tub automatically filled up on 20.00 and emptied out on 23.00 guests cannot use the onsen other than those hours.
(-) The onsen tub is small, max cap 4 adults sitting shoulder to shoulder. I wish they remove the make shift boulder 🪨 at the corner to make more room for soaking and it would make it cleaner and safer. Honestly that boulder corner was rough, it's not comfortable and may scratch your toes. Why don't they make the onsen clean square like spa jacuzzi.
There's a public onsen that opened only in Saturday. I wish I can enjoy that onsen because I expected bigger onsen pool.
(-) Occasionally there's awful smells of manures passing by. Probably from the surrounding farms.
