I loved my stay at the Snooze Hostel Ijen!
The employees were really lovely, always super welcoming, smiling and kind from start to finish. We feel directly at ease and well received.
The hostel was very clean, the common areas as well as the rooms were well maintained, and the decoration is beautiful with a very chill and warm atmosphere.
They even accepted that I wait after my Check out.

I had a very pleasant stay at Snooze. The facilities are very complete. The kitchen has a stove and plenty of kitchenware that guests can use. Plates and glasses are also fully provided. They offer free coffee and tea, and there is even ice and a refrigerator available.
Even after checkout, they allow guests to continue using shared facilities like the toilet, shower, and common area, which is very convenient.
They also offer car and motorcycle rentals, as well as trips to Ijen and another place 😍
The staff welcomed us very kindly.
I will definitely come back.

Just finished the Ijen tour offered by Snooze. Very smooth organization, great people and guides thank you! They also let me use their facilities (shower, storage of my luggage, …) even though I wasn’t a guest and was just doing the tour through them. Thank you to all the staff for your help and always positive attitude. Will definitely stay here in the future:)

As many others here have said, this is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in.
The staff are incredible! So friendly and go out of their way to help arrange trips, travels and recommend good spots.
The hostel itself is spotlessly clean with free coffee and water and you can see that thought has gone into every details.
Cannot recommend enough.

I found this hostel through a Thai backpacker YouTuber who gave it a great review, and that’s what made me decide to stay here.
I can honestly say this hostel has some of the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced in Indonesia. The service was excellent, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the room was perfect, even though it was “just” a bed.
Everything felt comfortable, welcoming, and well taken care of. I’d definitely stay here again!

We did not stay at Snooze Hostel in Banyuwangi because they were fully booked, but we would like to highlight how friendly the ladies at the reception were. They helped us find another place to stay and later organised a trip to Ijen for us. The ladies always offered us something to drink and patiently answered all our questions about the Ijen trip, Banyuwangi and Java in general. Thank you very much for your warm welcome and kind help, dear Snooze Hostel team – even though we unfortunately were not able to stay at your hostel.

This is an amazing place to stay! The staff do a great job at keep everything neat and clean the whole time. They also make sure that you have a good plan while in Java and will provide help if needed. Each and every staff member was very kind and thoughtful. Viola especially, as she went out of her way to help me with my plan and even helped me when I was feeling sick. 10/10

Awesome Hostel sihhhh, what I needed basically provided:
1. Bed is clean. This is important for comfort.
2. Shower is perfect, warm or hot no problem.
3. The aura is like my home & I am very comfortable.
4. Kitchen, clean, everyone can use. Completely perfect.
5. Wifi connection strong and fast enough.
Aku semalam saja hanya transit untuk ke bali. This is the best hostel. Everyone must come here. Kebersihan number 1 di hostel ini. Suka banget bersihnya dan harumnya.

What a beautiful place to stay!
Everything was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped us organize our trip to Mt. Ijen – which I honestly can’t recommend enough – and even assisted us with booking train tickets to Probolinggo. Overall, it was the perfect place to stay. I would 100% recommend this place!
The only downside was the air conditioning in the room. We were told it only had a fan, but there actually was an aircon – just without a remote. No one mentioned that we could use it if we paid an extra 100k, so the first night was pretty rough since it felt like 100 degrees in there.

Snooze Ijen is an immaculate hostel — the rooms and shared spaces are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, and their partnered activity provider, ‘Explore Our Indonesia’ is brilliant.
We did the sunrise Ijen trek through EOI, which was great fun, and worth every penny. The guides were so kind and took lots of great photos.
We also took the shuttle service from Banyuwangi to Malang, which was great value. Our driver ‘Dino’ was lovely, and we stopped frequently for bathroom breaks. We stopped at a nice place for lunch too, and he recommended dishes for us. When we arrived at our hostel in Malang, I soon found that I had lost my wallet. The driver was quick to respond and searched his car, sending a video. It was not there, but he reached out to the place we had stopped for lunch (where I had last had it) and they had found it!
I was so sure I would never see my wallet again — Snooze and EOI have exceeded my expectations in every regard. Thank you to all of the staff for looking after us 🙏

Great stay at snooze Ijen for a very affordable price.
We stayed at snooze Ijen for 2 nights, and we were wonderfully received. The rooms are comfortable and the common spaces are great.
Staff is kind and very helpful, and always present.
No food / restaurant on site but guest fridge available and restaurants nearby.
The private room with fan got really hot, and the towels smelled quite bad, other than that it was perfect.

I stayed in a private room with AC and shared bathroom at Snooze Hostel for four nights – and honestly, it was one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had as a solo traveler.
What really stood out was the proactive and super helpful communication. Traveling solo in Indonesia can sometimes be a bit challenging in terms of logistics and reliable information – but here, I felt fully supported. The team was genuinely welcoming and always available to help organize things, answer questions, or give useful tips.
The cleanliness was outstanding – everything spotless, from the bathrooms to the common areas. Value for money is excellent. The hostel provides everything you need as an independent traveler:
– a well-equipped kitchen.
– free water refill, tea, coffee, even a French press.
– utensils, dishes, and fridge space.
– cozy communal areas and great Wi-Fi.
I also booked the Ijen tour through them – everything went smoothly. The only downside was the tour guide, who rushed up the crater too fast and didn’t really communicate much during the hike. But I feel this might be a more general issue with local guides and not something the hostel can control.
Only a few small suggestions:
1. A washing machine to do your laundry by yourself would be the cherry on top – though they do recommend Optimum Laundry nearby, which I can also highly recommend (very clean and professional, unlike many Southeast Asia laundry places).

I bumped into Snooze Ijen by chance as this stop was part of a bigger excursion. I didn’t know what to expect but when I arrived there I immediately realized how good and chill was this space. The staff is lovely, always ready to improve your stay. I’ve got a bed in a dormitory and the disposition of the room was functional and guaranteed my privacy (every bed is a single bad divided by walls from the others).
Common spaces are lovely with lots of plants and you can really tell the mood is definitely chill over there! Bathrooms were really clean with everything you need.

The people who work at this hostel are all wonderful people.
They will literally help you with anything you need so if it's your first time in Indonesia or travelling abroad in general then come here because the people here helped me out more than once.
The rooms, facilities and hostel itself are also very nice, clean and just overall such a vibe.
If I ever come back to Banyuwangi I will definitely be staying here, its a cut above the rest.
