Rumah Eyang Guest House

The owner was very friendly and accommodated my request for a fairly late arrival. She woke me up in the morning for breakfast. The air conditioner works but it can't give me the temperature I want, maybe because the weather in the Guest House area is hot all the time. The hot water works well, the bed is very comfortable. Overall it's a good place to stay but I hope the owner improves the quality of service and breakfast.

Great place to come for a night. Immaculately clean. Air con works well. Breakfast this morning consisted of freshly cooked doughnuts and a local sweet with sesame seeds — delicious! Only marked down to a 4 for the room as I would have liked a top cotton sheet — only bottom sheet and microfibre blanket provided. Otherwise zero complaints.

Absolutely convenient and good at its price point. We were looking for somewhere clean with big rooms within walking distance to the train station. Rumah met all the needs. The train station is 260 m away. (walk out the train station go straight down the road — first right down a small lane and the guest house is at the end of the lane). Owners are retired Muslim couple and made us feel so welcome — cutting up pawpaw on arrival and give it us a totally unexpected snack for breakfast. The house is huge and there is tea and coffee in the kitchen as well as water for refilling bottles. There is a separate entance for visitors we well as a comfortable outside seating area. We took the family room — 2 queen beds and it was great. Bathroom was large. It’s one of those shower rooms so everything gets wet — but that’s standard in most parts of SE Asia. No loo paper so we used the tissues from the tables in the dining area. For dinner we walked out to the main road turned right and just over the bridge about 100m down was a small restaurant called Terasse. They had local food as well as things like French fires and burgers. (as we had the Nasi goring which was good we can’t comment on the western food).
