Cheap Inn - Hostel Cheap Inn Banyuwangi

The GOAT of budget accomodation in Banyuwangi!
I stayed in private room which provided me more than enough comfort I needed, I finally rested after long hours of traveling.
High ceiling, coming with the table and a chair, works wonders to finish what you have on your device. Bathroom included with the western type of toilet bowl (in case you struggle with squatting).
Big window to let the air circulate and of course, the AC so you don't have to sweat while you sleep, even if it's not so scortchy in the evening. As from Ive seen from bunk beds they're even better, strong frames, and you don't need to worry if the bed is gonna fall apart (backpackers know what I'm talking about).
Reception staff is very friendly, I've lost my phone at 2am in the morning one day, which means life to me and they helped me successfully find it even if the hours were deep in the night time and everyone sleeps.
I guess it all depends on how you look at things.
My priority was not to worry about expenses but to feel free and go out and explore the nature and local street food vendors. For the price it comes, trust me, you will not find anything like this.
So yeah staffs hospitality is highly professional, easy to get along with, will help you with trips, can help you organize going to Bali, Ijen, Red Islands… will def come back again.

This was some of the best service I’ve ever had in my life! I had to be up at 2am to make it to Ijen so I picked this place because it rented it’s own motorbikes to save time and get more sleep. They were all rented out, yet the operator went all over town looking for a third party to rent me one and have it waiting for me at the train station so I didn’t need a taxi and could just crash. He didn’t charge at all for this I couldn’t believe it! The room could be upgraded and cleaned but I paid next to nothing and it was private!

I think it’s the first time in my life that I will be sharing a bad review regarding an accommodation, but I don’t understand how this place can be rated so high!
It is very dirty and even for a night you don’t want to stay here while there are so many other places and home stays in the area.
We booked (online) 2 nights here, when we arrived no one was expecting us and the room was not ready…
After 15 minutes we got the keys to the room: no sheets on the bed so we asked if we could get some sheets. It was accepted but we had to pay extra for it (same for towels).
After staying 5 minutes inside the room we had to move out: The whole room was damp and smelt damp. This is what we call substandard housing. I really couldn’t breathe although I don’t have Asma.
The person who was there kindly tried to find us another room but it was the same in other rooms. In addition, we checked the bathroom and it looked like it has never been cleaned 😕…
Honestly, first time traveling that I moved out from an hotel that was already paid.
When we asked for a compensation, they refused!
I am sorry I didn’t take any picture but it was not my intention to leave this review except that I think it can be useful for futur travelers.
