I had a pleasant stay at Syariah Hotel Solo. The property is spacious and carries a strong Islamic atmosphere while still feeling comfortable and relaxing for all guests. One unique touch is the soft murottal recitation played through the hotel speakers. Thankfully, the volume is well managed and not disturbing at all. Each floor also has its own musholla, which is very convenient.
I heard the hotel was previously used to accommodate Hajj pilgrims, which explains the large scale of the building and facilities. On the top floor, there is a large ballroom suitable for graduations, weddings, seminars, and other events. The hotel has four elevators, and even during busy hours the waiting time was still reasonable, around 3–5 minutes.
The parking area is very spacious. Another advantage is that the hotel is connected to the nearby Lorin Solo Hotel group, so guests can also access the swimming pool there.
The room facilities are standard but complete: flat-screen TV, comfortable bed, wardrobe, amenities, tea and coffee setup, plus Islamic essentials such as a prayer mat, sarong, and Al-Qur’an. One small downside is that the air conditioning in some rooms could be colder.
Breakfast was enjoyable with good variety. Besides the usual menu, there were also local favorites such as siomay and bubur kacang hijau. Near the lobby, there are massage chairs available for guests, which was a nice extra touch.
