Review of Grand Edge Hotel Semarang 3*

At first, I didn't expect much since I saw the overall rating on Google Maps was only 4.4/5.0. But it turned out to be beyond my expectations.
When I first arrived, I was welcomed by the staff (security) and they helped me with my belongings and looked after my daughter as I checked in and my husband parked the car.
Right after I checked in, I went to the playground first for around 15 minutes to play with my daughter. The playground was generally okay; even though it felt old and some toys were broken, the cleanliness was quite good.
Then, I entered my room on level 5 (non-smoking floor). I booked a Grand Deluxe room; the room was clean and nice. Since I stayed here for my daughter's birthday, I requested a birthday complimentary, and I got mirror greetings and a free cake with wording.
In the afternoon, our little family went for a swim. The pool was overall clean and well-maintained. They also provided towels for the guests.
The breakfast was quite complete for a 4-star hotel. My favorites were their sweet treats, especially brownies & doughnuts. Their soto was tasty as well. Sadly, I only spent less than 30 minutes (around 07:00-07:30) on breakfast and couldn't explore more menu options. This was because my daughter was under the weather and couldn't swallow any food properly.
Then, we went back to the room to get our daughter some rest. Moreover, I asked if there was any chance for my daughter to have her breakfast sent to the room. I then asked the staff if it was possible to have porridge and fruit delivered to our room, and with less than 10 minutes, the restaurant staff was at our door. It was so thoughtful and I really appreciate that!
I couldn't say any better hospitality than I have ever experienced before than at Grand Edge Hotel Semarang. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful from the very beginning.
I hope they can maintain the service, and I will undoubtedly recommend this hotel to my family and friends when they visit Semarang.
