The hotel is in good condition overall, but it does look a bit old and would benefit from renovation, especially to refresh the rooms and facilities. That said, everything was functional and well maintained.
One great highlight was the parking area, which was convenient and well-organized, making our stay much easier.
With some updates and renovation, this hotel could be a much more comfortable and modern place to stay.
The rooms were well maintained and clean however the AC was a little cold. It was a full breakfast however I would have preferred a better coffee machine. Overall I was happy with the hotel.

After reserving a room with a King bed upon checking in I was told that the hotel had over booked that specific room. Instead they offered a room with 2 queen beds. I stated I preferred a room with a King bed as reserved. Reception staff offered to upgradee to a room with a King bed for a fee. I asked twice if the room in fact had 2 queen beds. They assured me that they would provide a room with 2 queen beds. They offered to arrange the room with the two beds together. That should have been a clue but we needed to eat so I agreed to the 2 queen beds and went to the restaurant to eat while they arranged the beds. After eating so late and retiring to the room we discovered two very small twin single beds that had a gap in between. Not wanting to argue with reception staff at such a late hour we spent an uncomfortable night. The next morning we approached reception and let them know their error. We requested a room with a King bed the following evening and complimentary breakfast to make up for our discomfort. Reception staff let us know we could pay full price for breakfast if we chose. They did not apologize for their error, our discomfort and their lack of providing services we arranged and paid for. While staying in Purwokerto I have been happy to stay at both the Aston and the Java Heritage. Based on this most recent experience I know where I will choose to stay moving forward.
