This was our second time staying here. During our first visit, although the building was older, the air conditioning worked perfectly in both the bedroom and the living room, keeping us very comfortable. This time, because we were traveling with our 14-month-old child, we chose to pay extra for a night in a newer building, hoping for a more comfortable and cleaner environment for our family to rest.
Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. The floors were dirty, as if they hadn’t been cleaned properly. The garage was littered with dry leaves, there were many mosquitoes, ants appeared at night, and the promised four sets of cutlery turned out to be only two. The kettle was dirty, and most importantly, the air conditioning didn’t cool the room at all.
As adults, we might have been able to tolerate the lack of proper air conditioning, but our baby couldn’t. We were offered the option to move to another room, but with the amount of luggage we had as a family with a young child, this wasn’t a practical solution. When we checked the suggested room, it also had poor air conditioning, and the living room didn’t even have a fan or AC. Opening the doors for ventilation only allowed mosquitoes to come in and bite our child.
When we raised these issues with the receptionist, the staff simply stated that every villa has its own strengths and weaknesses. If that’s the case, why was the room we booked priced significantly higher?
