Hotel employees are described as very friendly, patient, responsive, and professional. Guests praise the team for their honesty: in several instances, staff found and returned forgotten items (batteries and children's swimwear). High efficiency in rebooking stay dates was also noted. However, some guests complained about insufficient training of the restaurant staff, where employees (likely interns) occasionally appeared confused.

The hotel offers a buffet breakfast with a diverse menu including appetizers, main courses, and desserts, ranging from Western dishes to traditional sweets. Many guests are satisfied with the taste and variety; however, there are some negative reviews. Some visitors complained about cold food (porridges, soups), slow replenishment of dishes during peak hours, and even the presence of insects in the food.

The cleanliness situation is inconsistent. Many guests praise the cleanliness of the pools and the freshness of the bed linens. On the other hand, there are serious complaints regarding dirty bathrooms (presence of lizard droppings and rodent traces in the glampings), dust on air conditioners, dirty mirrors, and unpleasant smells from the sewage system. The prayer room (musala) was also mentioned as being dusty.

Most guests note that the air conditioners work well and keep the rooms cool. However, there are occasional complaints about non-functioning air conditioners in some rooms.

Standard toiletries, towels, a kettle, an electric kettle, and a mini-fridge are available in the rooms. Villas are equipped with a kitchen featuring a stove and gas; however, guests noted a lack of or dirty kitchenware and cutlery. Some rooms are missing hair dryers.

The hotel has clean pools, including dedicated areas for children. Pools with clear depth markings are considered safe and suitable for family vacations. Guests note that the pools are kept clean throughout the day.

The hotel has direct access to its own sandy beach with a gentle slope, free of corals and sharp rocks, making it very convenient for children. The sea is calm with pleasant waves. However, some guests complained about the presence of debris (branches, coconuts) and nails brought in by the current in the mornings, as well as the absence of lifeguards on the beach.

Horison Resort Pondok Layung Anyer is very family-oriented and is considered "kids friendly." Many activities are organized for children: cooking lessons (clay modeling), sessions with firefighters, drawing, gymnastics, and animal feeding. Teenagers and adults can enjoy a BBQ dinner accompanied by live music. Children are delighted with the opportunity to play in the sand and swim in the pool.

The hotel is accommodating for guests on special occasions; for example, upon request, a congratulatory message for an anniversary was prepared in the room.
