The Penida Project

I had a great stay at this hostel – honestly, one of the nicest I’ve visited during my trip to Bali. The atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful, with everything clean and well organized.
Special thanks to Julie, a lovely volunteer from France, who made the experience even better. She was super friendly, full of positive energy, and always made new guests feel welcome. Her presence really added a warm and lively touch to the hostel. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing stay! The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. The place is beautiful and super chill, with lots of activities to enjoy, especially in the evenings. The rooms were clean, organized, and had everything I needed. Great vibes all around, and the food was delicious too. Highly recommend!

Me and my friend were booked in to stay 2 nights — ended up extending it by 3! The rooms are lovely, nice comfy beds and the hostel offers such good food! Activites every day too — one was even a full moon party! The toilet block is clean and spacious too. We rented a bike through them which you do kind of need to get around though :). Loved it!

A great place to stay that is tucked away in nature, but transport is easily found to get to all the attractions. The team there are so friendly, and the facilities are well kept and clean! Don't even get me started on the amazing coffee and food. Will 100% come back again!

One of the best hostels I have been to. The events in the evening make it easy to connect with other guests. All of the staff is so nice and I felt really welcomed. I had to extend a few times, it's just such a nice hostel. The beds are very comfortable, I had a great sleep here. Great selection of western food and a wonderful pool. Just a lovely place!

Penida Project is the best hostel I’ve stayed at! The owners, staff, rooms, food, pool and other facilities were amazing! The location is only 10 minutes from the harbour but still feels like an oasis in the jungle. Would definitely stay here again :)

Great hostel, super nice owners and staff! They were very chill about everything and helped us when we needed help or recommendations. Facilities were awesome, the only thing that put me off in the beginning was the tiny street that we had to drive down with our bikes to get to the main road, but we got used to that quickly.
(The staff even saved us from a cockroach in our room! )

The Penida Project hostel was a vibe. The staff is one big family that welcomes you from the second you arrive. Great food, full bar, pool, and daily free activities. The beds were super cozy. Five min scooter ride to town. You can rent scooters and book excursions from the hostel. Overall, had a great experience here!

Had a great time staying at The Penida Project. The rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfy, toilets and showers are cleaned multiple times a day. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food and drink are well priced. Would definitely stay here again.

This is definitely the best hostel I have ever stayed at! 1. You have to stay in Nusa Penida 2. You have to stay at the Penida Project. Everyone working here is so friendly, so welcoming and extremely helpful. They can help arrange tours, I highly recommended scuba diving with Manta Rays, and they have all the contacts to help you get around the island. Nusa Penida is so gorgeous, you can’t see all of it in just a day trip. The hostel is a bit off the main road but you can get to it by scooter/car taxi or you can rent a scooter each day. Also highly recommend the mango chilli daiquiris, the food is also 10/10. I absolutely loved staying here 💚

Okay, let me be clear—I don’t even stay at Penida Project Hostel, but I’m basically there more than the actual guests. As an expat living on Nusa Penida, it’s become my unofficial second home. Why? Because the team is so amazing, I’m starting to think they might actually adopt me. Seriously, the staff here are so friendly and welcoming, you’ll feel like you’re crashing at your best friend’s place.
And another thing: the pizza. Oh. My. God. I’m no stranger to great food, but this pizza has me reconsidering my entire life’s priorities. I’ve been known to come for lunch and still be there at dinner… eating more pizza. It’s that good. I may or may not have briefly considered asking if they offer a “pizza residency program” for people who eat there as much as I do.
So even though I don’t sleep there, I practically live there, thanks to the chill vibes, the friendliest crew on Nusa Penida, and, of course, that legendary pizza. Whether you’re crashing for a night or just coming for a bite, this place will steal your heart—and possibly your diet plan.

If you wanna experience a fantastic stay with great people in the middle of nowhere, it’s your place!
I had an scooter and the road is a little rocky but manageable and it‘s at the perfect place and you can go everywhere easily!
The rooms were clean, same about the bathrooms!
I can also highly recommend the food and drinks here!
The only thing that would be great if it will be added is a bin in the rooms!

Sam, Josh and Adaraya are part owners. And we’re nothing but welcoming and helpful. They honestly felt like they were friends, and are worth a chat!
The staff, are incredible. Friendly and also helpful. They are also happy to embarrass you at a game of pool, or basketball. Great blokes.
The location although a little out the way really makes for a great social setting as everyone hangs out at the hostel after their activities.
Beds are comfy, rooms are clean!
Great food and cocktails! Funghi pizza was actually insane!
I could write nice things all day but just check it out yourself. You won’t regret it.

Incredible hostel. Sam, Josh, Jordy and the crew are the nicest bunch of people you'll meet and have created a super inviting environment at the hostel.
Great rooms, comfortable bedding, a lot of fun activities. You'll want to just spend the day hanging out there. A lot of fun and would recommend it to anyone.

The Penida Project is hands down the best hostel I've stayed at in Bali and beyond! The vibe here is absolutely incredible—it's one of those places that feels just like home. The food is delicious, and the amenities are top-notch with a pool table and a basketball court to keep you entertained. The beds are super comfy and clean, as are the showers. Whether you're looking to relax or have some fun, this place has everything you need. Can't recommend it enough!

10/10! This hostel is a great place to be, the staff is incredibly friendly and always there to help you! Its also amazing to socialize and meet people, because its a little off the main path and away from the other hostels, so everyone comes together in the evenings! They help you organize snorkel and other tours and you can also rent scooters from them!
The food is amazing too, just as everyone else already said ;).
Would definitely come back and am so sad to leave this place!
