Penida Bambu Green Villas

We had a wonderful stay at Penida Bambu Green Villas! The staff were absolutely amazing – very welcoming, friendly, and always accommodating to our needs. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and the massage service was excellent – so relaxing!
We stayed in Room 10, which was a bit small but perfectly comfortable, so it really wasn’t an issue. Just a heads up for future guests: this place is set right in the jungle, so you’ll hear plenty of nature sounds. The hotel makes this clear at check-in and even provides mosquito plug-ins and earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch.
Overall, we loved our stay – peaceful, authentic, and such warm hospitality. Highly recommend! 🌿

Nothing to like about this Property. It was a disaster staying with them. The Rooms were tiny, filled with lizards, geckos and other animals. Too noisy in the morning with so many animals and wild bird noises that it is immpossible to sleep. The food was shit. The hotel is far away from the centre. Too expensiver to book taxi with them and overall it was a nightmare.

We were here for 4 nights. The concept of the hotel is great, but the execution leaves much to be desired.
Set in a very remote region of Nusa Penida, the resort has outstanding mountain views and virtually no light / noise pollution. The remoteness does come at a cost. It takes at least 20mins (taxi) to get to the main streets with restaurants and shops and ATMs etc, so you often find yourself often stuck inside the resort, if you cannot be bothered to go through the hassle.
Each villa takes the form of a hut based on traditional Javanese vernacular architecture. The huts are rather small, but beautifully designed nonetheless. Sadly, the huts are a little wobbly and not fully sealed, so AC escapes constantly and you can hear each step your neighbours make. The open air bathroom is also charming and nicely landscaped. However, there is insufficient cover from the eaves, so when it rains (which it did, when we were there), the toilet becomes unuseable.
The bed is comfortable, but located directly in front of the AC console, so you constantly get the full blast of the AC. Personally, this did not bother me but my partner could not tolerate it at all.
There were also A LOT of roosters and they seem to have trouble knowing when is dawn, so they crowed through the evenings. Earplugs are a must!
The pool is nice and the garden is well maintained and designed.

Nice rooms and atmosphere. Great service, location is good if you want an escape from everywhere.
Staff were lovely. Very clear communication, tended to all of our needs, provided good and timely service for all food. Helped quickly to provide transportation both to Nusa Penida and the property as well as around the island.
Food was great, always made on time and you can eat it at the public eating area or at your villa.
The massage was a bit of a miss, it is performed out in the open (under a shaded roof), but anyone can see the therapy.
Room left much to be desired. We had the one closest to the reception/public eating area, and with outside showers/toilets, it meant at times there was only 5m of air separating you from the rest of the guests and staff. Entire rooms are made from bamboo (with floors of wood), but no sealing of gaps or insulation, so lots of air flow and loss of A/C. The steps wobbled a little and one was half-broken. There are multiple, uneven steps down then up to leave the villa and go to the toilet — so not a great place for anyone with difficulties walking or climbing stairs. Rooms are a little small, with not much space around the bed to move or put luggage.
Lots of nature around you. They do warn you that you might wake up to the sounds of roaming farm animals (cows, chickens/roosters). You can also hear the mosque's call to prayer at most times of the day (may have been because we visited during Eid).
The location is far away from everything.

Really nice hotel, more in the wilderness. Rooms are not soundproof but that adds to the experience. No need to set your alarm since the chickens will wake you. Great service of Prisma.

The place is beautiful located in the middle of the jungle. If you are afraid of insects this is definitely not your place.
Food is average. At night you have to stay in the hotel because it is dangerous to be out in the bike due to the fact that there is no light in the streets. And the hotel offers spa services till 7 pm only. So not much to do at night.
Receptionist is very helpful.

Amazing hotel with an excellent service & room service! Wirti & Julie were very welcoming, helpful & super knowledgeable about what to do in Nusa Penida. Food was great with a delicious breakfast (thanks Rate). We also had very much fun exploring the island with our great driver Gudi, who showed us around & taught us some words in Indonesian! Great experience, I highly recommend!

Pros:
— Very professional staff, good service.
— Helped us organise an amazing private Manta Point snorkel tour (1million rupiah = perhaps bit more expensive than some other tour companies but good value for money) and good private drivers.
— I’d highly recommend Waijaya, ask for him as your private driver to take you where you want to go around the island; he was lovely very patient, thoughtful, obliging, with enough English to have good conversation.
— Nice grounds, beautiful pool with view of mountains.
— Interesting bamboo rooms, with outdoor enclosed shower/bathroom.
— A/C.
— room service.
— mango trees around — I ate some that had freshly dropped (in wet season)
— we stayed in the normal villas. But I reckon staying in the treehouse would be even better!
Cons:
— shower at times poor hot water and/or flow pressure.
— mozzies in wet season (sooo many in the room when we arrived! But they provide a repellent pad thing and good mozzie net over bed so it wasn’t too problematic)
— location a bit out of the way so would only recommend if you’re happy to pay a bit extra $$ for private taxis (we spent significantly more on taxis than the accomodation itself. Note they have set prices for getting to each destination around the island), or if you are a confident scooter rider who can handle the very steep narrow rough roads around there (very cheap to hire your own scooter!

Sean (myself) and Carissa had an amazing experience due largely to an amazing host attendant and his team.
Being out in the sounds of nature with all the birds and chickens and lush trees was great. The pool was lovely under the sun. The food was also great, including even their Caesar salad which is better than I ever thought a salad could be.
Above all the service was attentive, hospitable, and friendly and helped organize everything we asked for, alongside other small touches such as breakfast served at our personal porch.
They also set up a beautiful swan towel arrangement in the shape of a heart with flower petals adorning the bed for a romantic welcome.

The accommodation at Penida Bambu Green Villas is beautiful, set in the heart of nature with stunning views of the ocean and Mount Agung. The bamboo houses in the jungle with outdoor bathrooms are an experience in themselves. You can hear the sounds of animals at night. Overall, a pleasant environment with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is served on the terrace of the house. An ideal place for relaxation, exploring the island, and snorkeling. Highly recommend!

So let’s start with the rooms and view:
View is amazing. I was blown away. It’s like you arrive in paradise.
The rooms were very clean and had a AC and a mosquito net.
The location.
A bit hard to reach but a with a cab no problem. A footrest ride down from the hotel to the “city” is also very fun.
But Nusa penisa is not easy to manage for beginners in the scooter. Be aware of the danger.
Animals.
Many dogs. But not near the hotel beside one or two. Chicken and the rest what a jingle has to offer. The night is magical between gecko sounds and chirping cicadas.
You have animals running around but that’s nothing scary or so.
Service.
Great guys. Available at any time. Always kind. Always on time.
Once you have an agreement with them they organize it and are never too late on providing the requested service.
Stay.
We stayed 3 nights. That was enough for us. We took a boat organized by the staff for us. It was all perfect.

Was an amazing experience. Sales assistant contact you Before of check in and explain everything, after check in there is a butler, and she's really professional, kind and helpful.
Hotel is wonderful, you can wake up with many different types bird songs on middle of the jungle.
Wiev of upstairs was magnificent with jungle and ocean.
Foods, massage, pool are also good.
We find peace and calmness there. Thank you to all workers who make flawless there.
