Dayuh House

I’m giving this place one star only because the 4.9 rating on Google is completely misleading. In reality, this hotel deserves somewhere between two and three stars. It’s not all bad: there’s a nice view from the bungalow entrance, a comfortable large bed with clean linens, a reliably working air conditioner, and stable hot water pressure.
BUT! If you’re coming to Nusa Penida to relax, unwind, and get some rest — avoid this place.
Now to the main downsides: insects and other creatures. When I checked into the room, it was full of giant mosquitoes. And if you turn on the mosquito repellent device, by morning you’ll wake up with ants in your bed — apparently falling from the ceiling due to the repellent’s effect. After just two days, the floor was littered with dead ants.
When I asked the staff to clean the room, they said they would only do it after I checked out. Only after I showed them the state of the floor did they finally clean it.
Also, for all three days of my stay, a tokay gecko (Tukkee) was living with me. I personally didn’t mind, but some people might not enjoy having this kind of roommate.
And then there are the roosters — crowing right outside your wall at 5 a. M. Every morning, like clockwork. When I was falling asleep around midnight, I constantly heard scratching or rustling sounds on the roof — either from insects or the gecko running around, I couldn’t tell.
Another downside was the room setup: there was literally nowhere to put my clothes.

Excellent place for a couple of day stay at Penida. Centrally located and a nearby Delhi 6 indian restaurant was just perfect for us. Explored both sides of the island from this hotel. Highly recommend.

The place is strategic to explore nusa penida, I relaxed and enjoyed during my stay. The staff is friendly and allows to borrow a helmet, and also many friendly stray dogs. The price is affordable. The breakfast was good, I ate fried rice with a large portion 😂. I hope to stay again.
