It was my first time in bali and I stayed at kamafari surf camp for a week. The awesome surfinstructors made it possible for me to catch some waves on my first day ever standing on a board!
I fell in love with surfing and the country itself, staying at kamafari is like gaining a new family. Every staff member is really friendly and welcoming, especially the evenings, when everyone from camp joins at the big table and eats the amazing food served at the camp.
It doesn‘t matter if you are a beginner or a pro in surfing, kamafari will handle it so everyone gets some sparkling eyes and a smile on their lips!

The perfect surf camp to explore the surroundings in the south and above all to learn to surf. A family environment and a very clean and well-maintained facility characterize the picture. Cool drinks (check off by line list, awesome! ), a huge couch in the covered outdoors and a billiard table also invite you to relax in the camp.
The staff is super nice and always for a chat or tips for exploring the surrounding area — that's how it should be!
I'd love to come back!

My boyfriend and I had a really nice 4 day stay at Kamafari surf camp. The surf instructors are super friendly, expert and patient. We were both beginners but we managed to improve and catch some waves in a very short period of time. Also the staff at the camp was very helpful and the food included in the price was basic but good. We really had a very good time! Totally recommended.

Super nice Camp. Very friendly Staff and fair prices. We had the ocean View room with Air condition. Air condition = no moscito ;) very nice stay. We will Come Back.

I spent one week here and had the best time! The staff is really lovely, everybody is friendly and helpful. You normally have breakfast and dinner together with the other guests (if you wish) which gives the whole camp this Kamafari family feeling ❤
Getting vegetarian meals at the camp is not a problem, even vegan is mostly feasible. There's also plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants close by that you reach best with a scooter (can be rented at the camp, about 3€/day).
I had never surfed before and took only 3 lessons but thanks to the instructors and the good conditions for beginners I stood on the board on day one and was able to catch some waves. Even though I'm not the sportiest it was really fun!
We stayed at one of the Ocean View Rooms with AC and a separate bathroom. All was very clean and tidy and in good condition.

I was 3 times, for a total of 9 weeks, at the Kamafari Surf Camp & it has almost become my second home.
The authentic Balinese & lovingly furnished camp is a small evergreen oasis with a unique view and in addition it is perfectly located. Whether you want to surf or just explore the Bukit Peninsula, from the camp you can reach all the breaks, beaches, cafes, shopping and sights, such as the Uluwatu Temple, in a few minutes with the scooter.
But above all the family atmosphere and the friendly Balinese staff make the camp for me, because here you are not just a number… Here we laugh, eat, surf, help each other, whether young or old, Balinese or traveller — you always meet nice, grounded people and make new friends.
Also not to be missed is the delicious food at the camp — a good mix of typical Indonesian and Western cuisine — and the large, always well-stocked beverage fridge, as well as the easy-to-come pool table, where especially an ' after-dinner ' play, at A cool Bintang, always really fun.
And for all those who just want to start surfing and wonder if Bali is anything for beginners?
Definitely! Here there are perfect waves for every skill level and that pretty much the whole year.

You are welcomed into a family from the beginning and feel at home! All the staff are very nice and strive to fulfill all wishes. The food is super tasty, the rooms beautiful and you immediately close new acquaintances through the common dining/living area. Kamafari is something for everyone, whether travelling alone or multiplying. Also the surf lessons are well done, the surf instructors are super relaxed and have fun while they give you new tips every time and improve you step by step and if you need a short break from the many paddles, you can watch them while surfing. I can only recommend Kamafari and will definitely come back!

For the second time I have been able to experience the charm and coziness of the Kamafari surf camps.
The camp shows itself as in the photos, absolutely clean, extremely cozy, with a great view and very relaxing. The friendly staff is always for fun, the meals are varied and a good mix between European food and Balinese fare.
In the large living area you can relax and the close of acquaintances with other guests takes place automatically, the camp is like a big family.
With the scooter you can reach within a short time various surf spots, cultural sights as well as local restaurants, shops and coffees.
The surf spots Padang Padang and Balangan are great for beginners, but they also offer advanced ideal conditions.

Everything wonderful, as described, clean and friendly. Food is also delicious. In the vicinity you can always find something to eat, drink, waves and with one of the scooters you are flexible and fast everywhere you want to go.

My time at the camp was very pleasant and the other guests (all Germans) were open and nice.
However, the location and quality of the camp is incompatible with the price. There is no pool, no rental scooter is practically not on the beach and the huts are not worth their money either.

Such a lovely place surrounded by lots of greenery, wide view, clean and cozy bungalows. Giving you chance to meet lots of diverse people from everywhere and to get some insights in the Balinese culture from the super friendly and funny guys working there. Patient and professional surf trainer, close to Padang Padang and Bingin Beach and the best banana pancake ever. Thank you!

If you don't want to ride a scooter, are regular all-inclusive 5* luxury hotel holidaymakers, then don't book the Kamafari, but go to the resort! For everyone else, whether backpackers, globetrotters or people who like to try something new probably the coolest thing you can do in Bali.
Now to the facts: for 200€! you get one week of accommodation, 6 days group surfing course, 6 times dinner and breakfast. This is actually mega cheap for the entire package compared to other surf camps. For beginners I found the lessons optimal. Pro Super should perhaps take a guide as the instructors are quite busy with all the starters.
If someone complains about the fact that there is no food on Sunday and at the same time serves the restaurant around the corner fresh tuna for 3€, I can't quite understand that.
The only criticism: I would make the Wlan "for free".
The staff and the two bosses, Sonder and Simon were super nice and you were welcomed like in a big family. Simon accompanied us for a day as an instructor and then gave theory lessons in the evening.
So combined a great surf camp, better than any hostel in Bali but no 5* hotel. So always keep an eye on the price-performance ratio and the Kamafari is simply world class!
Here I learned to surf and since then I have been on the board as often as possible, for which I would like to thank you Kamafari!
