We had 2 nights on Nusa Penida and were really excited to stay in the cute huts at Batan Sabo. The complex was very nice with great views and in a peaceful part of the island. Unfortunately for us, we had money stolen from our room. And unfortunately for Batan Sabo they handled the situation extremely unprofessionally. Bali was our final stop of a year of travel and it’s fair to say we had become well trained at dealing with our money, especially cash. As the rooms do not provide safes we had put 2 lots of cash in different parts of the room. Upon arriving back on our last night we had realised money was missing from one of the piles. We thought maybe it was our mistake… however we then checked the other amount and that also had a missing amount (smarts thieves to take small amount from two locations). The staff completely denied any accusations and it wasn’t until we heard from the boss that we got this money reimbursed. But that’s only where is started. Upon leaving the island the man we hired a scooter from tried to get more money from us, claiming we took the scooter for longer than he thought we agreed and for “breaking” his bike stand which we had no problems with when riding around the island for 2 days.

We stayed here last weekend. The cooking are the best in penida, the view is majestic. We have a very comfortable sleep, the place is clean, and there is a friendly dog that follows me around, I miss the dog already! at night, you can see a sea of stars, it's really beautiful, calming, and peaceful. I highly recommend this place to those who come to nusa penida! we'll be coming back definitely.

Well design cottages making it a very unique place to stay. At clear night, there's benches right in front of the cottages where you can just sit, relax while enjoying a starry night. But above all, the owner & staffs are superbly friendly and very helpful. Truly recommend Batan Sabo when visiting Nusa Penida and definitely will stay here whenever I go back there.

Batan sabo cottage gives us peaceful space, and absolute comfort, everyone here is very friendly and sincere.
Food is also great.

The view is amazing! On a clear night, you can see the milky way from your porch. Clean & comfortable beds. There is no hot water in the room, and no complementary water bottle, you can ask the kitchen staff to fill in yours but they also occasionally run out of water temporarily due to the rare chance of rain throughout the island. The road leading to the cottage can be a bit rocky but it's not too far apart from the main road. Plenty of parking space for both motorbiked & cars. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

Tempatnya sangat tenang, jauh dr keramaian. Akses jalan menuju lokasi sekitar 1km dari jalan utama, kondisi jalanan sebagian ada yg kurang bagus. Bisa lihat sunset disini, alternatif lain selain sunset di crystal bay. Resto buka sampai jam 10 malam. Kalau kelaparan tengah malam, ya harus turun ke daerah kota yang lebih ramai. You can really feel the hill vibes here. Tidak ada televisi, jadi selamat menikmati suasana tenang sepanjang hari.

We had a pleasant stay in Batan Sabo Cottage when we visited nusa penida last week. The cabin (cottage) is very clean, the staff (owner) like our own family, the breakfast so good, the view so beautiful, for sure we will return to Batan Sabo Cottage again if we have any chance to visit nusa penida in the future.

2nd stay at the Batan Sabo Cottage in 2 months. Always great to be here. The staff here have immediately become like a second family. The cottages are very cozy and the beds are really comfortable. I would readily recommend this place!

Good place, excellent food — bad part, they dont accept nor debit or credit card.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. To Crystal Bay beach and back about 300 rupees. Excursion to all the main attractions around 700 rupees. There is only one strangeness, blankets without duvet covers.

Really enjoyed our stay here — workers were so friendly. The breakfast omelette was delicious. Great place to relax and has such a nice view.
