Bombay Backpackers Hostel

I was there for 2 days. It is the best hotel in Mumbai at cheap rates. Rooms are clean and spacious. There are many restaurants nearby. Staff was very helpful. I recommend business travelers to visit there.

The desk place can use some more help. Other than that, a good place to chill with bunch of friends.

Wonderful experience, had two nights last year in here, so many travellers. So many nationalities. So many cultures. Common interests. Recommended absolutely -ves are there only 3 bathrooms and small lobby.

One of best short stay destinations. If you are not much of a private person and visiting for a short period of time and love to make your own breakfast as you like it, then this is the place for you. Staff is helpful and place is very clean.

Best hotel (hostel, Dorm) I have ever stayed by far. The best part is you can stay for cheapest fare and with very clean environment. You can read books, play indoor games, cook own food, listen music, watch TV talk to other tourist across the world. It's totally worth for young people at heart.

Clean place with great hospitality and on a budget. Theme is quirky and nice. You can meet new people here and socialize; especially since a lot of foreigners come to stay here. On the down side one may find it a little congested.

A very good experience of staying. No timing restrictions. Just get your stuff (Everything). Taking a point of for cleanliness…

Bad experience. Untrained staff, dingy neighborhood and dirty feeling. And a lovely lady that solved my issue and redunded my money. I booked three nights left after one. Vidya is great though, very understanding and friendly.

Affordable rent of dormaitry with very good ambience and friendly staff. They don't provide lock in given cupboard so you should cary one. Otherwise it's really good.

Helpful staff, decent breakfast. On the cheaper side in Mumbai, location is okay. Fairly social atmosphere. Could be a bit cleaner but overall a decent place to stay.

Less cramped than people make it out to be. The staff are friendly and the place is reasonably clean. I think it’s a good choice of place to stay, but I would prefer a location closer to all of the tourist sites.

It's not situated in a fun location per say, but you make lots of friends here and the staff is pretty chilled out. A guy made this caricature for me for free. Awesome for backpackers and solo travellers like myself.

I liked the hostel super. Price performance fits. Ideal for backpackers just coming from the airport. The boss of the hostel is very nice and helpful no matter what questions.

Don't be fooled by the exterior. The hostel is located next to the slums but the interiors and the people who work there are very good. The rooms are small and there is not much space between each bunk but it is good enough if as a place to sleep for the night. The bathrooms are also well maintained. You get to meet a lot of people from different parts of the world and it isn't very far from the airport. I would definitely recommend this place if you need a place to crash for the night after a busy day of roaming around the city.

It's really fun to stay here if u r travelling alone. Anf also it's cheap with breakfast and Wi-Fi. The staffs here are really caring and good.

Stayed there for 4 nights. Awesome place with good people around you. Met some amazing people. I'm staying there the next time I come to Bombay.

Good location for staying few days in Mumbai. Right next to the local train station. Lot of options to eat nearby. The lane nearby serves some yummy chats. Must try! One point less because of cramped bathroom.

Wonderful place, really friendly staff and cook. They try their best to accommodate you. Met some wonderful people from Spain, Slovakia, Japan, Nepal, Indonesia, all in the matter of a night! Security: decent, but everything I left around was just where it was the next morning. Safe enough. People: the people coming here range from students to couples to working professionals. Staff: very friendly and helpful. Cost: worth the money, and very cheap — includes Wifi (really fast, no buffering) and breakfast for under 750 bucks (~$12).

Average good, would be a 2nd or third choice for one, location not very convenient, no recharge shops or atm s within 400 metres. Average restaurants nearby only. But a fun place.

I had a 3 night stay at this hostel. The best part are some of the guests staying here long term. Wifi is great. Breakfast was ok. Location is not great but the shopping mall nearby is the best in the city! Cleanliness is questionable. The room (taxidorm 6 person) I stayed in was essentially a wide hallway/corridor that people used to pass through to get to the common area. Staff, namely Sanjee is great. Train (10INR) is a 10 minute walk and the street to walk to Kurla station is chaotic. Many Buses (20INR) 30ltd, 25ltd, 22ltd, 7ltd run by the front door of this hostel that (20INR) will drop you off close to all the museums and India gate. If arriving in Mumbai to Bandra terminus station I would recommend taking bus 303 or 310.303 will drop you off 1 block away whilst 310 will drop you off right in front of the hostel.

Nice hostel… Just missing windows… So avoid if claustrophobic.

Stayed here for two nights, great experience. Rooms were clean, most staff were super friendly, breakfast in the morning was good, and the location is okay as well (15 minutes from a metro station). Loved the red lights for people who are sleeping. AC was nice and cool, Wi-Fi worked well. Bathrooms could benefit from a bit of an upgrade.

Great help with getting the simcard officially registered. And also a very nice hostel.

Location is not so good and the rooms are crammed and dark. Bathrooms were a little dirty and damp, and the common space is small and dark. There is free breakfast though which is good and free chai at all times of the day. I know that everything is expensive and crammed in Mumbai so this may have been standard. But I wouldn't stay again, I'd pay a bit more to get my own room with a bit more space, or for a hostel in a better location near Colaba. An upside was the very friendly and helpful staff. One of the staff members let me use her debit card to book a bus when I couldn't do it using my international credit card. Really kind people.

Affordable peppy place. Don't throw tantrums here just belong to the place and you will have comfortable stay.
