Review of Hotel Sea Princess 4*

Arrived on Jan 2, 2018 from Ahmedabad. We had 4 rooms booked. My kids and I were put into interconnecting rooms. I asked for my brother and parents to be on same floor and they put my parents into an old part of the hotel where the room smelled musty and damp. My mum found a cockroach in her shower so housekeeping took it away and I asked reception to move her. They said they could move her next morning. Fine thought I would give them a chance. We had a quick bite in restaurant where it looks old and tired. Maybe we thought this is typical price/ amenities for Mumbai hotel and for 3/4/5 star hotel. Next morning after breakfast I asked my daughter to tell my mum to get her bags ready and when my daughter went into corridor more cockroach. My daughter ran back in and I stepped out. The housekeeper was right there and before I could take a picture he had out a towel on it. That was the last straw. We asked to leave and check out. They wasted another hour saying they would upgrade us move us to another floor etc but I said cockroaches don’t know to stop at the second floor and not go up! After much more time wasting they finally refunded part payment of the monies that were paid. The other part payment was on an older credit card and I had to return back to the hotel on Jan 4 once I got all the numbers from my Visa card company. Not only was this all time wasted from a previous family vacation in India but to add insult they charged us for a night also. They made excuses that a disturbed pipe was to blame for the cockroaches (? at 10.30pm and at 9 am? ) initially they said there was no problem and this was the first of it. One of receptionist muttered that there was no problem anymore. Just everything in this hotel is old, dusty and a health hazard with cockroaches around. Fact is we saw at least 3 on the second floor. One in my mums bathroom, one outside our room and again by my mum in the corridor near her room. Don’t stay here and if you do choose to do so then beware of paying for your full stay in advance as once you have done that you are stuck with trying to extract a refund from them. Beware of anywhere that asks for prepayment as it usually means that they know u will not be happy and likely to move so they ask for prepayment so you are stuck with fighting for a refund. Any normal hotel knowing the circumstances of our departure would have said there are no charges, we are sorry that this has happened and let us make this as easy on you and we will take care of your inconvenience. This is at best a 2/3 star hotel that is old, tired and at the moment has cockroaches. Could not recommend at all!
