La Mangrove Hotel

Love, love, love this place! A little area of calm after the hecticness of Patnem. My wife and I were very happy just to chill out on one of the four beds overlooking the river, when we wanted to venture a bit further afield Galgibaga beach was a 12 min cycle on one of the La Mangrove bikes or a 5 mins tuk tuk. The tepee accommodation was great fun and beautifully decked out inside with wonderful outdoor bathrooms and hot showers. The owner's Thibaut & Maude were lovely and exceptionally welcoming and staff (Raj & Surun) were fantastic — can't thank them enough! The food here is excellent and we were very happy to work our way through the menu over our 6 nights stay (Pad Thai, La Mangrove rolls & Momos a particular favourite). Accommodation includes a wonderful choice of 4 different breakfasts (Set, Healthy, La Mangrove & Indian) aswell as juice and tea/coffee. It's hard to pick any negatives in this place but I suppose given the tepees this place isn't recommended for babies or anyone that has mobility problems as the entrance to get in/out is quite low. Also if you're the soft of person that wants busy and buzzing this won't be for you, but for us it was nothing short of perfect :)

Breakfasts at La Mangrove are the best — especially given the unobstructed and intimate setting of the backwaters. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, private and quiet holiday in a place that's environmentally conscious. This place is a labour of love and it shows. Congratulations Thibault and Maud. Look forward to staying with you guys again and sorry for the delay in writing this review.

What a fantastic stay here. The owner has created a beautiful haven with attention to detail. Tipis are huge w a comfy Queen sized bed, stone floor, lockable chest, fans and lights. Private open air bathrooms were clean, only complaint was no hot water (he did offer to bring some though) Motorbike and bicycles are available to borrow and explore the quiet neighborhood and turtle beach is a 10 min bike away. Food is also fantastic, try the Indian breakfast. Can't say enough how wonderful this was.

The host really has an eye for detail creating a chic feel all round. A true glamping experience. A must if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Food and service were also brilliant, I especially enjoyed the authentic Tibetan dishes.

Amazing place, peaceful, well designed boho chic tents, best for relaxation and yummy, fresh, eclectic cuisine for food lovers. Close to some of the best beaches in South Goa. Beautiful French/Dutch family will welcome you, helpful friendly hosts who know everything about the area and will make you feel at home.

Calm, serene, delicious food and kind hosts. This place in Goa is away from the hustle and bustle right next to a flowing "river". Take a dip, relax with a beer and soak in the sun. Live in teepe tents. Owners Maud and Thibault are kind and love to spend time with the guests. Food is delicious. Do try the chocolate momo.

Serene, isolated riverside makes this a special getaway from the hustle of the northern beaches. The food is western priced, but well worth it for the love that is put into each meal. Very thankful to have some nice lounges for reading during the day. Also, options to spend a night in a rustic Tipi Tent.

I visited La Mangrove with my husband in Jan end and I must admit it was one of the best experiences we have ever had while staying at a tented accommodation. The place is explicitly set up by Thibault overlooking the silent river. Onion pakodas served with chilled beer was exotic. Finally the tipis have been designed for your comfort. Just savour yourself a glass of wine, relax on the lounge in evening and experience stillness of the place. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for a night. The location of the place with the mangrove forest, and the water flowing by the side is so beautiful. I love the way the colours are chosen for the tents, the interiors, the cousions. I mean, every single detail is so well done!. The interiors of the tipi, that needs special mention for the way such a tiny space can be made luxurious. Had a few beers with thebault and was great talking to him.
