Review of Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel 5*

I have been to Sheraton on two separate occasions, one for food and one for the spa services. Here is the review for both experiences. Suffice it to say that 1 star is one extra star that I want to give. 1. Food — The restaurant was empty at normal lunch hour. It was a weekday so I am assuming that they don't have many patrons in the area. We ordered our food from the menu and didn't opt for their buffet. The buffet didn't look appetizing anyway. The food was OK in taste but my husband and I both had stomach bug after the lunch there. May be because they don't get a lot of people in their restaurant, the food isn't fresh or is cooked a few days ahead. I am guessing. Not what I would expect from a Sheraton. 2. Spa — The spa is really nicely decorated. It looks like a picture from a magazine. Very pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately, the lovely experience ends there. The service was way below par. I was informed the price of my service in the waiting area and was asked if I am ok paying that amount. I was not sure why it was confirmed first. May be because their prices are much higher than similar places elsewhere. The girl who was assigned to me was new to the business. I asked her and she told me that she just started this work 1 month ago. I am amazed that a luxury hotel would chose to have newbies. It took her 2 hours to do a service that usually takes 40 minutes (and the work wasn't finished after that either). She was visibly struggling through out. In the end of 2 hours, when she was still not done, I asked her to just leave it. I literally cut my losses. I can go to another place tomorrow and finish the service. The spa uses the most basic quality products as well and doesn't have options to upgrade even if I am willing to pay extra. Overall, the decor and looks alone cannot run a luxury hotel and spa. The management needs to get the right people. I live in the neighborhood and would have loved to have a decent place nearby for my coffee and my spa needs but unfortunately, I will give this place a pass.
