They were absolutely unprofessional. They cancelled threw days before the booking lying it's under construction… when we went booking some other hotel during the same dates, they were taking fresh bookings on higher rates and had no construction going on… they are cheaters.

One of the oldest cafes in the manali. When we entered this place the aura was lively as Live singing performance was going on. Amidst of that we took our seats slightly interior as we want some peace. Ordered drinks and food. Pasta had won our hearts. Also this place has impressive ambience. Seems that owner might be a hunter in his old days.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights in total. It has a great bed which made the stay worth it (some mattresses in India are too thin but these were great). We were a bit disappointed because when we booked the room, it said we would have an upstairs room with a balcony, when we checked in however we were given a room downstairs. It had a terrace outside but was shared between the rooms downstairs. When we asked about the room we had booked, we were told all the upstairs rooms were full and we weren't offered a discount. Wi-Fi was also non existent in the room. It was a bit over priced for what you get. On a positive note, we ordered room service a few times and the staff were really nice and it does have a beautiful garden to relax in.

Johnson's Lodge & Spa is located in the middle of Manali town, 400m from the mall road. With a lovely ambience and serene surroundings, the lodge provides you all to make your evening worth. The staff is humble and polite and the service is prompt. It offers you a wide variety of cuisine ranging from Indian to Italian to Chinese and Continental. The rooms are pretty cozy and not too much priced, ranging from 2, 000 to 3, 000 Rs per night for a couple. All in all, this is an awesome place to stay for a vacation in Manali. Value for money.

Awesome hotel. Manager in the desk is a very good and helpful person. Quality of foods are great and reasonable in price. View from balcony both in night and morning can make your day. Staffs are very helpful and well mannered.

Went in the evening on a Thursday night. Big spacious place. Had a couple of drinks, Whiskey Sour & Cuba Libre, and a lamb burger and some bacon. Delicious food. Has indoor and outdoor seating areas. Has a spa and lodging too. Staff was polite and courteous.

It was truly an amazing experience. The place is such that one tends to fall in love with the ambiance. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. The food was delicious. Full marks to the staff especially. Will surely love to visit again. Highly recommended.

The decor has an organic feel. I felt the salad was ordinary compared to ones at the lazy dog lounge. The rest of the food was good. There is this hot beverage — apple cinnamon tea that you should try if the weather necessitates one or if you're feeling under the weather.

5 stars for ambience. The place is an absolute visual treat. 5 stars for the excellent service. 4 stars for food — The good thing is that the portions are very generous. The slight let down was the inflexibility to make customisations — I did not want aubergine in the bruchetta but I was informed that it wouldn't be possible to replace it. So I was forced to order flat bread which was just average.

Absolutely loved it. Probably the best restaurant and lodging in Manali. It has a beautiful garden with seasonal flowers blooming in the garden. It also has a very spacious bonfire area with comfortable chairs. Restaurant menu is just right. You'll find everything you need from healthy to tasty food. Staff were very helpful and cooperative. Lighting of the restaurant and the view outside the window makes it a picture perfect location as well.

You can enjoy the weather with music. Reasonable rates. Just love the pizza it's totally yummy. And cold coffee is amazing… Amazing sitting place … U can enjoy the place with family and friends.

Writing a critical review of the food and service here. In terms of the food quality, presentation and culinary experience, it's a restaurant at fine dining cadre. In terms of service though, there are certain glitches. Whether it's the speed of service or other amenities like availability of a separate washroom, these are certain unsaid needs from a restaurant of such a level. Overall I would give it a 4 stars leaving some room for improvement.

Excellent ambience. It's an island of luxury accommodation and the best food amidst the sea of traffic in peak season Manali. The staff staffs courteous, polite and extremely helpful. The food is superb and with so many choices you keep wanting to come back again and again. A must go for all food lovers. They have a live band playing too and small bonfires all over the place in the evenings. All in all a great place to rest after hectic sight seeing in Manali.

Nice, clean. The right place to head after a strenuous drive through Spiti valley. Price on the high range, but negotiable. We paid 5000 Rs for a double with extra bed. The garden is cozy and neat and the next door sister hotel, is no less good and has a spa.

I booked this hotel based on the good reviews and everything. The location and the whole ambience of the lodge is good. You can enjoy the live music in the night. My main complain is about the taste of the food. The food is not according to its price… I think it is very overpriced.

Pros: — Best place in Manali to chill out, quality service, we tried thier fresh river water fish and it was quite good. Cons: — you always find traffic in the day time because of it's on the way of hidimba temple. Not so pocket friendly for the budget keepers.

I was at Johnson's cottage in the month of March (some good yrs ago) and what a scintillating place is this. I was supposed to check in at 12 but had reached early 7a. M and to my surprise the staff were so courteous they accommodated us. The one storey cottage with 4 rooms brings that old charm and has also got a common kitchen. M*** ji (name withheld) was kind of caretaker and he prepared us some lip smacking breakfast and dinner for us. All and above at measly rates. We were also helped with cab arrangements and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Infact loved it. Thanks to R***** and V**** for being our guide. This place is very near to Mall road and you can spend plenty of your time wandering streets, corner to corner. There is also a park that you can go and spend quality time. Yes, I 'ld love to visit here again.

The property is centrally located, very approachable from the mall road, old Manali, etc. The outdoor seating is a delight. The nicely maintained garden is a great place to sit on a nice sunny day. The bar is always well stocked. The staff is polite and helpful. The food is great! The rooms are clean, neat and well set up. The bathrooms are spotless. All in all a recommended experience!

Went here for a dinner with the guys, chose this over the Johnson's cafe nearby due to the variety of cuisines being offered. The place is neat, homely with a fireplace and great for conversations. The lodge does host a bar, and the place serves great vegetarian and non vegetarian food. Absolutely loved their masala trout and lamb, which were amazingly fresh. A bit on the expensive side, but worth every penny. The banoffee pie and almond cake were quite good too! Pro tip: Finish appetizers, grab a few beers and go sit outside in the garden, come back for dinner near the fireplace.

Amazing feelings like heaven… I didn't expect that weather will also follow us. So this trip is all upon on weather… if weather is good than u r lucky… & Ofcourse we are lucky one.

It was a late night pizza with my friend when I went there. The ambiance was really nice. We had a table infront of the fireplace… was enjoying the heat, wine and pizza however, it was quick. Bec it was already their closing time. Food was perfect but a little bit pricey.

A one of a kind experience is simply very hard to get. Have visited Manali before but had a lot of time at hand this time so though I'd do a bit of roaming around in the city and explore a few new restaurants. Just around the corner of the famous 'Harry Potter Forest' just as my friend would call it, a bit toward your right from Mall Road (You'd better trust Google Maps than me on this :-P) you'd get to a narrow road going up hill. On your left you'd be greeted by this fancy rock wall leading to a pretty rustic looking door. As you'd walk inside be prepared to be amazed by its interiors and decor. The experience is just too good to be true. A brilliantly lit place, natural light filling every corner of the area, colors that complement each other along with plush comfy furniture and a view that overlooks snow capped mountain peaks and and beautiful garden that you'd see in movies :-D. Eye candy! Coming to the food, I would say one of the best ever. I've had a lot of trout in many places in Manali but this one would beat all of em combined… The tandoori, garlic and butter Trout's are truly delicious. Another few dishes you would want to try are the pasta and spaghetti, you can decide which one to try. My personal favorite would be the Arrabiata. A tangy mix of tomato and spices. Simply yum! If you're fond of trout, this would be your best bet. To sum it all, a very nice and cosy destination for delicious food and lip smacking beverages…

I have been at their restaurant twice now. Its an amazing place to just listen to some good music by the fire place and have amazing food. Me and my mother was catered by Vineet each time we were their and he was so humble and courteous to us. Thank you for the amazing time. We will sure be visiting again and again.

Had a Fresh Lemon Soda that was loaded with salt, and despite informing the waiter to inform the kitchen to make our pizza with less cheese got a pizza loaded with rubbery cheese! Terrible experience so be careful to make sure the waiter understands and repeats your order and instructions for the kitchen.

This place is one of a kind in the Himalayan Hills. Awesome cocktails served. Staff is at their best behaviour. Special shout out to Mr. Vineet Sharma, he made sure that we have the most comfortable and best experience. Excellent place to stay at Manali. Mall road is about 5 minutes walking distance from here but still this place is away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded area. The property including the rooms provide very good view of the snow capped mountain peaks. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Windows are big allowing lot of natural light and mountain views. Room amenities include tea / coffee maker and heater. Small garden is well maintained with colourful flower trees and there is also sitting area in the open. Lawn is well manicured. The restaurant is contemporary and also has a fire place. Food is very tasty but the rates are a bit expensive. Overall there is lot of use of wood in the interiors of the property which gives it an old world and royal feel. All in all a very good place to stay at Manali.

Love the food but you have to wait as service is tooo slow. For slow service only they lost 1 star. Try trout fish… One of the best you will get here.

Now the best part is Food. U ll find variety of taste here… And trust me u won't regret on spending some bucks on food.! We are here for 3 nights and tonight's our last. It's a wonderful property. The rooms have the old world charm. The in house restaurant serves excellent food and have live music playing which livens up your dining experience. I will stay here every time I come to visit Manali.

This place is just awesome. Bar, food and the staff service is amazing. Well behavior of the people working there. The most exciting feature of the place is live music. Incredibly melodious musicians play music every week. What a treat!

Perhaps the best contemporary and quaint lodging / resort in Manali. Great bar, excellent food, great ambience, great rooms. Had lunch there, baked trout was amazing. Prices are on the higher side but then one has to pay for the surroundings and gentry. Overall excellent, except for parking…

I stayed at the johnson lodge and spa last week, the ambience and decor of the room, the services all are exceptionally good. The rooms are much prettier than what they look in the pictures. And its location is perfect too, not amidst the hustle of the mall road and not much away from it. Each night had special arrangements that made my stay at johnson memorable!

Awesome place to stay in Manali. Very good rooms, nice and comfortable bed. Stayed there last March during heavy snowfall. The scenery from the window was just breathtaking. Very good service from the hotel guys especially Chamanlal. Book without a doubt.

I was there in February I love it nothing is wrong up there I was there on Valentine's Day I was very snowy in manali, I was tired, hands were freezing, then we reached there I love just when I enter there warm log of woods very burning, we took seat next to that then food was sticked to taste buds, Please try their pizza and fish solomon. They have nice bar I make some good friends over there. Must go for dinner at least once if you are in manali.
