The best chef you have Mr Kiran Kumar, and amazing banquet service, Mr Madan, Mrs Dorothy, and entire crew is super warm and welcoming; our family function went super successful; FOOD IS THE BEST PART! :)

Good standard of hotel for the area. They have a decent gym and the 18 degree North restaurant is excellent.

Nobody response here one of the worst staff, they don't clean the room also.

In urgent need of renovation. Everything in the room needs to be replaced cos it shows age or is ruined. The rooms are huge though. The bathroom is really cramped and that too requires a lot of work. When requested for an ironing board, they got us the most dilapidated ironing board. The cover and the padding was burnt through. It was not usable. It’s remarkable how they can give their guests something that ruined! But on a positive note, The iron box they provided was good! The only time I would advise you to get this room is if you absolutely need a large room and don’t care about anything else.

Positive: Good Hotel at cheap price. Not far from Marina Beach. Swimming pool available. Gym available. Spacious. Negative: Poor service. Did not get even the bell boy to carry our luggages. Food is very very costly. Conclusion: Comparing other hotels nearby, I will still choose this hotel cause it is still worth the price.

Good place… to stay. Liked my 3 stay here. Rooms are big, staff are cooperative. Helped me in check in early. Though I waited for 30-45 min. Walkable distance from Marina beach.

It's a very old well known location, some rooms are well maintained while few not up to the mark. If the booking done through any online marketplace, then you may not good rooms, however if directly booked then they give top notch rooms; this is based on my few booking in both modes in recent past. Food served in their restaurant is really awesome, but the team over there is stressed due to covering the entire floor with minimal people and for water too you will have to wait for a long time. If something requested to prepare, then for sure without follow-up you will not be served. The most attraction is the location.

Clarion was not definitely our first choice to conduct our annual corporate get-together. Our team members were interacting with the hotel staff and felt the responses were very professional. We thought we would try them for the meeting and it turned out to a very good decision. The staff members were available inside our hall through out the event and took care of the requirements. We would definitely do our next meeting here.

Large and well furnished accommodation. Ample space for parking. Located near US consulate. Round the clock restaurant serves delicious food.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is at a walking distance from Marina beach, Chennai Citi Centre Mall (Inox multiplex, etc). The rooms were clean, comfortable, well-serviced. The food at the restaurant was good. The swimming pool was a bit small for more than around 5 people, but it served the purpose. Overall, my stay here was great, and I would love to stay again!

Have been here a couple of times and the hospitality is really good. Lighting and ambience is perfect. Only feedback is that the staff require some training in English. Managers are perfect, only the on ground staff needs some training in communication.

I don't know how it got 4 star hotel certification. Poor service. There is very less man power. If anything you order to room, they take ages to get it. And politely says sorry. Management is not concerned about it's customers.

Situated close to US consulate and City Centre Mall, this hotel offers a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. However the service quality needs to be improved a lot. The room I was offered was quite spacious, had comfortable bed & nice centralized A/C and thus I had a present sleep. The attached bathroom was also big and clean. However the hand as well as bath towels seems to be pretty old and turned blackish. Bed covers also contained few stains, so as the table top and floor carpet. Morning breakfast was good with decent varieties, the food served in room service were tasty and quantity was sufficient. Overall it was a pleasant stay for me.

Had the opportunity to stay here for a couple of days. Was very happy with the overall ambuiance of the hotel The refurbished rooms had a contemporary decor and were comfortable. The staff were helpful, courteous, with pleasing personality. Would love to stay there again.

They will make customer wait instead of providing an early checkin even if the rooms are ready. We checked out in morning and later when we came to pick our luggage we asked to use our own room for few minutes. They initially denied saying the room is being cleaned which was a lie. Then they gave us the room. Their luggage storage and pickup guys don't care about your time. I was running late once and showed them my luggage and told them to give it to me and they did not bother. They took their own sweet time. They will not get my business next time.

Very good hotel for the price we paid. Was on business trip. Breakfast was good and food in north indian restaurant is fine, but little oily and spicy. Staff is very friendly and housekeeping is done immediately when I asked for cleaning the room. Good view, as located close to Marina beach also at walking distance.

Booked a luxury room for 2 days over the weekend. Rooms are good with decent view, hotel is located close to the marina beach and walkable. We landed early at 9am, check-in was at 2pm and they agreed to give us early check-in only after 11.30am. And of we needed it earlier it would be charged 2000v something + taxes. We preferred to walk to the beach and be back. Rooms included breakfast buffet, however, buffet didn't include a basic egg omelette! And when asked for one they said it's chargeable. This is the first time I've been asked to pay for egg omelettes at a buffet! Was absurd! Swimming pool on the 2nd floor is really small in size approx 20x10 ft. Overall experience average, could have been better.

Good bedding, dubious cleanliness, roaches, bad smells, pool unusable because in the shade most of the day.

I would give no stars if possible. Came here to stay as we have stayed here couple of times in the past, some years back, and it had been pleasant. However this time I totally repent coming here. The rooms provided look so dirty and weren't cleaned before handing over. The same thing repeated even for other rooms shown. Never going to come back. Extremely poor maintenance. Why is it a 4 star again?

Our Stay here was great and very helpful staff. Room service and cleaning was extraordinary. We stayed here for 6 nights. But, I will not recommend Clarions Pearl hall for a function though. Management was quite rude to our guests and told them to leave straightaway because our booked time was over. They could have given a Grace period or told the us (who booked) to vacate the hall and not to the guests. They also promised us that there are fixtures to attach our decoration but we were left with nothing. Had to decorate the hall from scratch. The in charge Ms. Rajeshwary did not answer the calls either when we needed help prior to the function. Very bad experience with the banquet hall. (Pearl hall)

The hotel located very near to Marina Beach. Has all the facilities but needs some makeover and better maintenance. The free breakfast was very average with limited varieties. The luxury room was very spacious with very good view of the city and beach. Room air-conditioning was perfect. Overall a decent stay and value for money if you want to just spend some nights.

Room, breakfast and location are good. They have a pool too. Wi-Fi is good and generally works for 2 devices only. They made an exception when I requested, which was very nice of them. Mineral water and nice tea are also complimentary. Overall very good value for money.

Just an amazing experience staying there. The room service staff were pretty responsive when asked for some things that we needed and to have the room cleaned. The room was well equipped, a mini fridge, a pressing table, a nice cozy chair and the unbelievably soft bed. It just was an amazing experience staying there.

Good hotel near city centre. The restaurant in ground floor is very nice. One of the oldest hotel of Madras now renovated to serve the needs of modern Chennai. The conference halls are neat and good. The old style can be smelled in some part of the hotel. The bar is very near to the reception. Rooms are well maintained and seems good.

Stayed for a brief period. The stay was very good. Staff is very helpful and the food at the inhouse restaurants was very good. It's very close to marina beach and our room had a perfect City view.

Pros: amenities are good. Location is excellent, perfect for stay if you are visiting for American Visa interview as the consulate is nearby. cons: very slow service. Lack of staff. Even after having made prior reservations, we had to wait for almost an hour to get our room. There were plenty of people waiting for their rooms as well. The rooms looked very old.

Had a good stay here, the place is bit costly. Staff needs to be more proactive. Ambiance was excellent. Good vicinity around hotel.

Our first visit to clarion, it was amazing. The natural flowers enhanced the beauty. Morning breakfast I loved. Maybe the swimming pool was small but enough for enjoyment and having fun. due to rain there was a bad smell but still it was royal feel to be there. Morning view from our glass window was just mesmerizing. The beauty of open sky n nature was as romantic as I never felt. Services were awesome, All staff's are so humble, kind and helpful.

Room so far ok, bathroom has almost transparent walls light mold.

Very bad it's only two star hotel do not have center table in room to seat and eat. Had dinner on bed only. Hotel Manager is also rude.

Good food and reasonable prices. But service need to b improved bit more. People are very friendly. I will definitely recommend and me and my family are going atleast once a month. Good.

Would not stay here again. The front desk staff is unprofessional at best, operations extremely inefficient and ineffective. The rooms are well appointed, bathrooms are mediocre, not completely clean. The restaurant on the ground floor is understaffed. The hotel manager indicated that he's aware of the problems, but considering that they've positioned the property as a "business hotel", the impact on their star rating was irrelevant. Despite the great location, I would stay elsewhere next time.

Well maintained hotel for ages. Renovated around 5-6 years back. Started with being one of the big hotels of city and now managing good with current competition. Small hall at the 1st floor for around 150 — 200. Nice rooms with a view of city. Rooms — 4 Staff — 4 Food — 4

Everything was good in this hotel except Check-in and check out process time. They people took 30 to 40 mins for this process but yes room service was extremely well. Near to Marina beach and 1km from US consultant. We have booked 2 rooms in this hotel from MakeMyTrip which comes under ₹6000/day including breakfast only.

The worst pub to hangout in Chennai… The staff is literally the most illiterate bunch who have their own derogatory manner of talking… Also… the place is really small… the lighting is gloomy, and my phone has a better set of speakers in terms of clarity and modulation. Worst part, its like a dead walk in there… everything dull and boring with the overpriced menu of items. I would recommend this place to people who really want to ruin their evening.

It's a nice quiet place. Not very well known of when compared to other hotels but that's not a bad thing. Has nice looking rooms and overall good looks. I felt that the Price should be a little lower thou when I compared it to other hotels of the same facilities.

Already had State in Chennai, to tell truth was even Madras, but returned by the wedding of my friend Deepak and found a hotel completely renovated and different, without better. I love the change.

Its hotel president renovated and renamed as hotel clarion. Staff is very lazy. Even for a cup of tea for in room dining they keep you wait for 45mins and they get you bill for 2 cups instead if one. They don't follow customer instructions properly. We tried both north Indian thali and buffet. We liked north Indian thali, but don't keep many expectations. Buffet doesn't have many options for veg. Staff is lazy and very few people are available for service. Even for roti they keep you waiting for 30mins. Rooms aren't that great. You can see stains all over washrooms. Wi-Fi not provided though mentioned in basic amenities. They charge you ₹250 per device per day. Overall average stay.

Had a one night stay. Smooth and seamless check-in/check-out. Very comfortable room. Excellent dinner options and sumptuous breakfast spread. Highly supportive, smiling, helpful staff. Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable experience.

Very good ambiance. Soothing music. Not at all crowded… In fact I was the only one Now the food… Awesome is the word. In fact better than most in north India. I had ordered a mushroom dish (don't ask the name) and onion kulcha and I am bowled over.

Posh atmosphere, nice area, courteous staff, good food (if slightly on the expensive side). Spacious room, bathroom with smoked glass (which could be an inconvenience depending on the people staying). Ok-sized swimming pool, restaurant & bar. Overall an enjoyable stay.

If you want non helpful staff and cheating policies then this is the place to stay. Have made the booking for my parents for 3 nights (Feb 14th to 16th). Unfortunately I had made the booking saying 1 person instead of 2 and at 12 midnight they are saying they won't allow two people to stay unless they pay another 1000 per night. When I talked to the Duty Manager Mohan he said there is a price differential between 1 person v/s 2. I checked online and there is hardly any rate difference which Mohan is conveniently ignoring to accept. He said he can't check it now on your website. All of this is after I had called and confirmed the booking 3 days back with them and after being asked did confirm that 2 people were staying there and was told nothing of the extra charge at that time. Also I had booked through Goibibo, even the person there acknowledged that this doesn't make any sense. He even called and tried to talk to someone over there who again was not helpful. So in the middle of the night my parents didn't have an option but to pay.

We stayed here for 2 days on our visit to chennai it is very clean, staff is well behaved, food quality is great room has all facilities like weighing scale, dryer etc highly recommended.

Booked it through makemytrip and stayed 2 nights here. This is an excellent hotel with international standards. Staff very courteous and helpful. Only minor issue was I didn't get the room as soon as I arrived as they were waiting on many rooms to get cleaned/ checked out. Many were waiting just like me. I had to keep my bags and come back later to claim my room. I didn't consider it for the review as the hotel is really nice. Breakfast is excellent too and suits everyone. I am not sure about the restaurant food as I did not try.

It was good, rooms are awesome. Wifi was not good.

The stay was good. Hassle free. The best part was the morning buffet breakfast. My wife and I were planning to meet the chef to get the recipe of the "Karupatti Pongal". Apparently, that was the best pongal I have ever had.

THE CONS OUT WEIGH THE PROS A few good things were the decent food and ambiance. But on the downside the Wi-Fi connection to was really bad and to top it all you can connect only 2 devices from a room. Come on guys, are we in the 90's. The taxes were way too high. The final bill you pay for for your food will be nowhere near the menu card prices. This a'int a 4 star hotel.

Good hotel, value for money.

The rooms are amazing but the Wi-Fi is terrible. They provide complimentary internet but it is extremely slow and the paid price is expensive. Slow service.

There are items very taest. What you see is part of a wonderful new restaurant suitable for family celebrations and other bigger events. Famous for being one of the first Balkan republics and the highest town in Macedonia. It developed food items thank u many many so much.

Had a pleasant stay at Clarion Hotel in Chennai. Staff was nice, room was chill, food was good (had the buffet and a cappuccino) for lunch. There's a gym available to guests and a nightclub as well.
