Nice place… Have swimming pool (4 feet) … calm and good ambience. We stayed in cottage. Allowed 4 people and for one person extra fare taken. Breakfast is free with sufficient food vareties and is buffet. Unable to see beach but about 3 min walkable distance. Staffs are good. Freedom also appreciable… Overall good experience.

Enjoyed the stay here… The environment was lovely and staff were really friendly. Mr. Sajin was very helpful throughout our stay. The food was also good. We enjoyed our max at the pool. The beach is also nearby. You can even hire a motorbike and ride around.

Pool is really bad. Staff is friendly. Rooms are really dark with a noisy air conditioning. Not worth the money.

The resort is worth every penny you pay. Neat and tidy. The staff is extremely friendly and helping. The food is also pretty good. The pool is clean and accessible at almost any time of the day. The complimentary breakfast was filling and delicious.

This is our third stay at Deshadan Backwater Resort, and travelling to Kerala every year from abroad, I would never stay elsewhere. From our arrival to departure service was exceptional. The staff at every level went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Food was always fresh and delicious, and the staff and chefs really know how to treat guests!

All the hotel staff are very polite and helpful. Service is very good. They took the time to explain me all the specifics of each resort location. Coming from abroad, all the info provided was very useful to me.

Loved the place for the hospitality, food and the proximity to the beach. The rooms are decent and features a beautiful swimming pool in the center. The food is a must try here. We were served with some excellent Chinese and Indian cuisine for the dinner. Overall a great place.

A quaint, idyllic resort on the North Cliff of Varkala. Around 200 m from the beach (not visible from resort), it's got bit of a vintage ambience to it. A swimming pool bang in the centre of the place is the eye catcher. Nice place to relax, hangout and just soak in the ambience of the place. Wifi wasn't consistent in the rooms. The small restaurant gives you quite good food too.

Wonderful hotel with beautiful garden.

We had to spend 2 nights in a dorm and noticed before we went to bed that there were ants in the room (yes a window stalled it does not help), two three on the ground is not disturbing on the other hand on the bed and the walls it's average. But we thank the manager or receptionist who has shown professionalism. We may have fallen ill!

I am having very good experience. I will refer this for stay. Food quality was very good. Service is also good. Polite staff. Nice location, it's nearby beach. Only 200m from beach.

Good for the price we are paying. Its walking distance from the beach. I hope they had complimentary tea and coffee with kettle in the room esp for tea addicts like us. Rooms are fine and spacious. Pool was clean and decent sized. Have not tasted the food here so not sure on that.

A good resort in Varkala. Cottage is okay. They serve a delicious and scrumptious breakfast.

This resort is NOT actually on cliff. But near by cliff. Pocket friendly resort. With basic amenities like swimming pool and small garden. Food quality is also good.

I had a great experience with Deshadan Beach resort. Awesome rooms Hygienic and a great place to stay for a holiday. The staff behave is very good the manager Mr Sajin valsan is very helpful for those days the beach just 250 meters only from here (3 minutes walk) awesome food, pool, ambiance, as a frequent traveler I suggest this property for who interested to visit varkkala.

Great staff and food. A simple hotel with all the key facilities you would expect. Beech is bit far, but if your not bothered about the walk it is ok.

Had a memorable stay at the resort, the staff was very humble and friendly, they never said no to any requests, appreciate their commitment to keep the guests happy. Ambience is good with clean rooms, as we had booked 3 rooms directly, the tariff seems to be little over priced.

A good place to stay. I find this resort is very clean and spacious staff are very nice and prompt. Resort Need to work little on food quality and room order service. But overall I would recommend this resort.

Neatly maintained rooms, comfortable beds, silent ambience. The pool is neat and had a jacuzzi. The staff said that the pool was just recently re opened after maintenance. The restaurant although was simple, the food quality was good. Value for money. The pool side rooms are better than the cottages. I could take my nephew on an elephant ride in a farm half hour from the resort.

Its a calm simple place with a nice outdoor restaurant and neat pool. The rooms are just adequate. Staff are well mannered. Overall experience will be better than a normal hotel but not up to the mark of a resort. However, given its very low rate and good amenities, most of the normal tourists will enjoy the place.

Nice place to stay at. Excellent food and service. Pool side rooms have good facilities like AC, TV with cable connection, 24 hour hot water availability, etc.

You should, but foodn't! The location is just spot on. A short walk through narrow 'documentary style' path to the cliff and that is the place to be. The room was clean and the pool was literally a jump away from the front door. Food was a big let down. They didn't have a lot of what they had on the menu. And what was available was mediocre at best. Ask them for the beef dishes and be listen to all the interesting excuses they have about why they don't serve it. Choose them for the stay. Great food is available at the cliff and that is only a walk away.

Hotel and staff is nice people, nice build in style of separate cottage with nice bathrooms and cleanness is well. Recommended for stay.

Pricey but great … An idyllic stay. The restaurant is nothing to rave about. Important to note: sea facing accommodations are pricey and may not be available through online booking portals.
