Excellent place managed by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. Probably at one amongst the better locations. Facilities are good but can surely be improved to meet the growing expectation of tourists.

We booked a standard golf view room here. Room is below average. Not worth for money. Less parking area. The surrounding view and local is very nice. Good location. If you like to stay in good location in Kochi, you can choose this. But room is expensive comparing to other hotels. Food also costly. There is no other hotels or shops outside this hotel.

One the best island to have a private party. Also good for conducting engagement and wedding reception at night also has a good restaurant and a great swimming pool. Also able to see the great view of the backwaters.

Bolgatty palace is fantabulous. A large palace like structure, with beautiful grounds and covered in all sides by the sea. It has several cottages available at optimum rates, a magnificent diner, and a modest hall. It is truly an excellent place to spend time with family.

Purely a great place. Cannot speak enough about this. Lots of movie shootings take place here. This was a quiet getaway once upon a time but now it is a buzzing with lots of excitement and heavily commercialised. Secondly Lulu convention centre has come up and so has Grand Hyatt. I would suggest you to try this resort instead of a stay over at the Hyatt. Hyatt is totally different but if you want to experience Kerala hospitality then visit here. You won't be disappointed one bit.

There's so many choices of halls we can pick. Its a great place to conduct weddings and other functions if you are ready to pay money. It's a very calm place there is hardly no sounds from the road. The place is very well maintained. The price we pay for it is worth and at night u will get a very good view of the backwater.

Very nice hotel, and good staff. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. One of the bathrooms had a couple of small issues (like a glitchy shower), but nothing too major. The stay was very comfortable. The restaurant has buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Would have been nice if they also had à-la-carte service (only for room service, they said). No big deal though, the buffet was very nice and well stocked. All in all, my family and I had a very good time there. Would definitely visit there again!

Heritage property with excellent waterfront on both sides. Lot of greenery. A quiet place for romantic couples and people who want to escape from the noise and din of city life. However be warned that mosquitoes may bother you.

This is quiet famous for its heritage for being an ancient Dutch palace converted into a commercial hotel. However, the rooms are not at par with the other hotels But the location and the decor makes up for it. This is also a perfect spot to enjoy a drink by the bay. The property is spread across nearly 3 acres which allows it to host events, marriages etc for couples who would love to get married by the bay overlooking the sunset.

Bolgatty Palace Island Resort is located at a very scenic atmosphere. Love to be there in that atmosphere which can rejuvenate our mind and body. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. In total the stay at Bolgatty Palace Resort is worth for what it costs.

Beautiful location, clean hotel, though slightly upscale. Stayed here twice and had no issues except for communication problems. As a tourist, it's a task to communicate with anyone from the staff because nobody speaks any language apart from Malayalam! It took me more than half an hour to get them to understand my booking details before I got the room :) but no complaints apart from the below average food. Eat out when you stay here and you are sorted.

Very nice place surrounded on three sides by water. Attended a conference there. Venue was good. Evening banquet was awesome. But service at bolgatty marina was very bad. Ordered for a tea at 4.30 pm and got it only after 6.30 pm that too after reminding 4 times. Else the stay was good. Rooms are good. Swimming pool is good.

Awesome backwater property in Cochin. Perfect for Riverside weddings and a scenic place for wedding photography. Palace is not very old but yet gives a traditional ambience. A quiet and elegant resort.

Used to visit occasionally. With palace, backwaters and nature the island resort was best suited for a comfortable and relaxed stay with tantalizing memories. Traditional style spacious rooms were charm, neat, clean, well furnished and properly maintained. There were excellent amenities and facilities. Facing the backwaters the balcony refreshed with breeze, melodious sound of singing birds, vegetable cultivation, beautiful sunset and city views. The restaurant was specialized with delicious dishes having varieties of selections and professional services. Hospitality was the best. Natural healing, Pool and Golf facilities were excellent.

Beautiful place with great views! Attended a few functions last week. Perfect to host big and small functions. Plenty of parking spaces available. Just make sure to have some fans or coolers for your function because it may get really hot and humid.

Very clean nice room with a view of the marina. Wow woke up to the view of a big gorgeous red sun. See my photo. This is a great place. They kept it as it was when it was built back in 1744. By a Dutch trader. I am impressed.

The place is so calm and quite where we can enjoy the sea next to it and very beautiful view. A good side to walk and a best day to enjoy the weekend. From the Container Road take right and straight from there is very easy to find the place. The service is splendid, the food and everything around there is just awesome.

With its ancient pride and value, this place has been a memory in my mind. This place offer's you with variety of food course and facilities. Of course the boat ride is one of those. Has a very good view all around. But the tourist board of Kerala state can certainly improve with the landscape of this truly majestic palace. Had wonderful time in here.

Beautiful location, decent food, but the service can use an upgrade. It was sad to see that the water was clogging in the best room in the resort. Considering that the place is managed by Kerela tourism, it's not at all bad. I will highly recommended the place if someone is looking for a budget travel yet a nice place to stay. Try to book a palace suite. If money is not an issue, there are better resorts out there.

Stunning location. Friendly and flexible staff. Would like to share this good experience to prove the point. Our guests flight arrived late and there wasn't many good options to dine. Bolgaty Kitchen closes at 10.30 pm and by the time the guests reach it would be well past 11pm. They requested us to give the order by phone which we did and they served the ordered food in the room well into the night. Hats off to the service mentality.

This is a very good place. You should visit atleast once here. Environment friendly location with a nice ambience. We can breathe clean air here. Car parking facility is also very good. We should appreciate it. We can conduct functions here. Budgeted people never afford this place as it is very costly. We can even enjoy a boat riding here.

Excellent place with great view and feel. The govt should take enough steps to maintain this great place too. This historic structure is not well maintained by the authority which is otherwise a heavenly place.

It's an idyllic place. But very thinly populated. And well maintained. Food is almost good. Only downside is that the restaurants and bar follow military discipline of timing!

We stayed in golfview room, which was not very clean with traces of cigarette ashes on the balcony, had to complain to get it cleaned. Overall, the service we received was not satisfactory… The property is in a very good location, the only thing is that, there were some crowd gathering inside the property as a part of the property is often rented out for other functions…

Peaceful location in the midst of lake. Wonderful view of the city of Kochi, Vallarpadam container terminal and other small islands. I stayed there thrice… Good lake view rooms, aesthetically built swimming pool and and a nice restaurant. The property is so vast that one can walk around to spend a relaxed days and nights.

A palace in an island in the middle of the city. And what scenic beauty. What silence. One can simply merge with nature. An elite hotel with good hospitality and top of the board facility.

Convenient ferry jetty on the grounds. Staff are very helpful. Surroundings are beautiful.

Amazing views and a coz place to lodge, the sea is just close to your door and the food is good. Every service, taxis avaliable nearby, good places to visit are nearby.

I had recently been there to attend my dear friends wedding, the place is just awesome with all its natural beauty, as the name says it's an island near the City of Ernakulam. It was a palace renovated to luxurious hotel with suits and rooms. You have good ambience, boat ride, golf, gym ECT… It's a good place to spend some calm time enjoying the nature's beauty. The service is also good. The pictures I share will give you their idea. Note the pictures were taken from balcony of my room.

Amazing property with a 300-year-old history. Great views. Helpful staff. Has a good restaurant and a coffee shop too. Will recommend this to all Kochi visitors.

Beautiful ambiance. Great scenery. Well maintained 4 star quality rooms. Clean swimming pool. Decent food. Good variety on breakfast, lunch, dinner buffet. They offer Ayurvedic massages too.

This hotel is located on a small quiet island. The biggest downside were the rooms which were very large, however also dark and old, smelled strongly of mold and AC did not work well. 79 degrees in room the second morning with AC on all night (down from 82). Was told AC was better in another building however they did not have a room with two twin beds in that building. Wifi did not work well at all. The grounds are beautiful with nice sunset views and a peaceful setting. Pool water was hot and not very refreshing but set in a pretty quiet garden setting. A bit of a pain to get to Fort Cochin having to take multiple ferries or rickshaw and one ferry. Staff was very friendly and accommodating however communication was a bit difficult as most of the staff were not fluent in English. Included breakfast was simple yet good. Weekend dinner buffet was very good…

Best place for clean and tidy, cool breeze from Arabian sea will surely make you pleasure.

An important tourist spot in Kerala, this place has a very scenic landscape around it. It overlooks the backwaters. Must visit.

A beautiful place to roam around. The place is too quiet and peaceful so that you'll enjoy it. Clean and tidy as well.

I went there for a marriage party… It WS awesome … but I'm feeling scared when I walk in the hall of the palace.

Stayed in Marina view room for 3 days. Room ambience was average with a verandah with wonderful view of Lake separated by Marine Drive. Night view was awesome. Restaurant at the Bolgatty palace building was also ok. Complimentary breakfast was average with only few items.

The location is awesome, esp. The lakefront rooms. The upkeep of such a nice place with such an interesting heritage should be a lot better. Please be warned that the rooms don't have Wi-Fi. You have to pay a very hefty price (Rs. 600 + tax) for Wi-Fi and it is limited to the lounge. The buffet at night left me unsatisfied — — — a feeling that worsened when I later realized that it costs Rs. 550. Many things in the room (telephone, remote controls for both TV and AC) were not working properly. It feels more like a guest house run by a government organization rather than a resort. There is a nice pool suitable for kids.

It's too bad that a heritage place is taken away from public.
