Review of Club Mahindra Munnar 5*

The one bed room resort and the surrounding nature is beautiful. The sofa that doubles as bed in living room is horrible. Hurts the back. They don't have enough towels and enough storage for their supplies to provide for guests. Have to wait three hours to get towels, til the dirty ones dry. The activity room is really bad, like a very low class school computer room. The equipment is bad, no chairs and practically no games, lucky to not see cockroaches and mice. The restaurant ala carte options, some of them are really bad. The buffet is good, even though the price is high. The chefs dont seem to have much training in individual dishesi n the menu. No pool or hot tub. Employs a lot of girls from. North east who barely speak English. The male staff and the local Kerala staff is OK. Lot of taxis outside with published rates for tourists. Everything is about commission here. Wonder if you eat at their restaurant once and come back somebody gets comission. Since the customers are north Indians they cannot get away with too much fleecing and have to try to fleece the occasional ones they can get away with. There are basically no activities in the resort. Just come with family and spend peaceful days looking at the hills and beauty. Do not do the taxi thing more than once. Take the government bus to Munnar, they will not tell you the time of it, it goes from power house one km away. The Kerala govt bus is more comfortable and less back breaking. This place is a beautiful spot. If you do not have a good view, don't know what is there to enjoy here. The kilukkumalai taxi charge was 300 extra because this one had to give 300 commission. The union osystem of Kerala is on display here. So Kerala means union, inside Kerala. Go to suryanelli and see the poverty of the place and how bad the roads are. Most of the male staff is housed here.
