The green hotel is basically an old palace converted into a hotel. They have done a really good job of maintaining the property and it has a classic feel to it. The place is quite and awesome for a conversation over a cup of coffee or with a plate of pie :)

The ambience is very peaceful. You will get a feel of old buildings and sculpture. The food lacks variety. Also, the service is not that great. Over all, good for one time for the ambience only.

The rooms are just about OK. Quite pricey. Does not offer commensurate value. Bed coffee in the morning is not part of the package and is ridiculously expensive. The breakfast is average. We were hoping to experience the old-world ambience and it was underwhelming. I would probably not return to the place. The newer hotels in the city offer better quality of accommodation for a similar or lesser tariff. Srini.

Lovely place. Very calm. Vast garden outside rooms. Great walking paths as well for those conscious about the steps goal. Very courteous and friendly staff.

A good restaurant with outdoor seating. The waiter was helpful and kind. However, the food was average and there were many cats walking around.

Good place to have great food. When you step in you can feel the difference. Construction of the hotel is old but elegant. When it comes to food, I can easily say its one of the better preparing and better serving hotels around. You can come here with your family and friends for lunch or dinner. Service is good and rate is also not so high. Overall a very good restaurant. Recommended for quality, peaceful dinner with family.

Nice, old world hotel. Simple. Non fussy. No ac. Not fancy rooms. No tv. No fridge. No tea/coffee facilities. Good food. Friendly staff. Good location.

One of the best places in mysore. So rich in history. Food is simply fabulous. The place is so open, green and huge. Rooms r simple, nothing fancy. My favorite part was the plastic free environment. Even the buckets and mugs are old fashioned steel.

An antique building with a heritage. Well maintained and good service and food options. Conveniently located off the highway with good parking facilities. The staff too is friendly and attentive. Menu is reasonably prices. Eventhough it's right next to the highway it's amazingly calm and quite. You can have a wonderful gathering with friends and family or a group here. Good amount of space for kids to run around and if you are a gardening enthusiast you can buy plants and bushes at a very cheap rate here.

It's a nice place to stay, rooms are well furnished & interior is also good. Service is little bit delayed but good place.

A casual yet an upscale restaurant in Mysore. Tasty food and lovely ambiance at the lawn couple each other.

The inner courtyard is entirely charming. The perfect place to meet a friend. Simple, tasty food. A mix of fast food prepared from scratch and some South Indian items and a selection of cakes and pastries. The restaurant — it's more of a coffee house — is owned and run by a group of women.

We had a table reserved in the lawn area of the restaurant. It was such a beautifully lit place with an amazing ambience. Candle light dinner made it even better. Our waiter was a very Cooperative and soft spoken man. The food was okay; not excellent, not bad either. The prices were reasonable.

Beautiful vintage hotel, that I have visited since fifteen years and it has been able to keep it's charm alive and prices the same. Beautiful ambience especially if you choose to dine in the lawns in the evening. Their food has nrver disappointed, always good quantities and right prices. Service is a little slow, but would recommend this for anyone visiting Mysore for a lazy lunch or dinner.

A wonderful place for a date. Old British style architecture. Garden dining and candle light dinner. Polite staff. Not very costly.

This hotel has a vintage atmosphere to it. Quaint and serene. I don't know much if it's history but everyone I enter this place, it take me back in time. Feels like it belonged to someone in the nobility circuit. It's coffee shop drags me to this hotel everytime we cross Mysore. It's amazing cakes and brownies are worth stopping for and taking that extra detour.

I know this is India but this place really needs updating. The covered restaurant was just not clean. Some of the restaurant staff were simply not interested. The hotel is towards the edge of the city and drivers in India sound their horns habitually so even at midnight it was difficult to sleep. The mattress that we slept on had distinct odour of urine which was unpleasant. To top it off 4 out of 5 of us picked up a bug during our stay. My advice be to avoid.

Want a feel of stay in a palace? then this could be a place to mark in your dairy. Open dining if you prefer. Nice food and service.

Just visited this hotel with my dad. Very disappointed with their seating arrangement b — if there is one to mention of. No one to book table. Had to talk to couple of serving staff too be seated. We were waiting with no one to guide us to a table. After a long wait a temporary table was and 2 chairs were randomly put up. Table was wobbly and chairs seemed more like a temp stool. We walked out! Very badly managed.

This used to be a favourite destination to dine out in Mysore. Sadly, on the last three visits, the service was consistently poor. They appear to be understaffed, with far too few waiters to manage tables across such a large area. To make matters worse, the waiters are a bit racist, in the sense that they are only interested in attending to tables with Caucasian guests. For instance, on one occasion, we placed our orders and 35 minutes later, we were still waiting for our food while the table of foreigners next to ours (who got there much later after we did) were already on their second course. A fork that we asked for took 17 minutes to be provided — and all the while, the waiters were strolling back and forth right past our table, plying the 'white tables' with food. I can sympathise with the fact that Indians are often not good tippers, but with terrible service like this, even the few generous tippers become disinclined to tip, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy for waiters. All this is a shame, because this place does have good food and very pleasant ambience. If you're white, you have nothing to worry about. If you're brown, choose a time when there aren't many white guests.

An old world charm filled with verdant greenery and an unhurried pace renders this an ideal spot to stay in for a holiday. Could be better maintained though and the service definitely needs to be quicker and the menu an overhaul to sustain itself amidst competition.

One of my favourite places in Mysore. I love their cinnamon and other teas. Good place to catch up with old friends, a date or even a professional meeting. It feels like from a different era but still quite comfortable and nice.

It's a bit on the expensive side. And the service is slow. The food is alright. But the ambience is good and it's not crowded.

Besutiful hotel and restaurant. The green lawn were full of blossoms and flowers marigolds daisies zinnias chrysanthemums. A feast for the eyes. The food is also very good. Kebabs were yummy and the fish was also very tasty. Would return again and again.

A very unique experience in Mysore. The green hotel has an excellent ambience for dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is excellent. The coconut rice n green peas masala is a must try. It has a smoking section as well for those who wish to smoke. The rooms are so well ventilated that they don't have fans they're not required even in summers.

Quite a good place, for north Indian south Indian, break fast, lunch and dinner, Even desserta are good Go alone, or with family friends Overall a nice place.

Wonderful stay in Mysore. This is an old palace converted to a hotel. The old building with the old furnitures ports you through time. The grand piano, old tables everything is charming. The service was good. Cost a bit to the higher side. Restaurant food is delicious. We even had cherries from a tree in the premises :-) all in all it was good.

Great ambience, heritage vibes. The place once walked by legendary film stars, popular TV serial 'The sword of Tipu' was shot here.

Place is quiet and cozy. The hotel is made in retro style. The food is good and is value for money.

A Royal Treat every single time I visit Mysore, its a must stop at the Green Hotel (Chittaranjan Palace). The entire place brings out a different feeling rather than a restaurant atmosphere. The ambiance of dining in the palace gardens is mesmerising, especially if you plan to have dinner with candle lit tables all across the lawn. The food maintains quality and value for money, the waiters courteous and patient. While you enjoy the food, you would enjoy the comfort and peaceful surroundings of the palace and the whole garden. A must visit place or shall I say an 'always' visit place!

Spacious and clean rooms. No frills (ac or TV) and eco friendly. Wonderful garden to sit out and eat. Food is not overpriced and tastes good.

Always talk to the hotel directly and do a booking only if one of the rooms in the main building is available.
Even if these rooms are expensive than online pricing, go for it!
The reason: All cheaper room options that are available in TripAdvisor, Agoda etc are for those in an auxiliary row of rooms that is disconnected from the main building and amenities in these rooms are outright bad.
It's only because of the genial and polite support staff who came promptly to address the issues, that I am giving 3* rating :-)

I loved staying at the Green Hotel. A beautiful peaceful place, gorgeous gardens, very historic buildings, extremely yummy food AND I was very inspired by its environmentally sustainable practices. Delightful helpful service and wonderful artworks everywhere. Such a joy to be there. I also made some lovely friends amongst the guests staying there.
Can't wait to return to the Green Hotel.

I love The Green Hotel. It's my favorite place to eat in Mysore. The food is good and clean, and the service and ambience make me feel like royalty. The tandoori salad is so good! The rooms are spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. It's not the fanciest place or always perfect but it is consistently lovely.

Thou went there only to have food, It's a beautiful place … rather a palace converted to a hotel… Awesome food, beautifully maintained garden. Lot of greenery around. Good staff nd not to forget their bakery is too good. Esp the cakes. My Mysore visits are incomplete if I don't visit The Green Hotel.

Very nice looking hotel where yoga students have often small farewell parties. Food price a bit upscale. However the only place in India which has left my stomach wonder if I ate something bot suitable that day.

Went there for dinner. Nice garden, decent food, yet we expected a bit more for the price. Overall I would still recommend it.

Great location. Beautiful old summer palace that has been coverted into a hotel. The food was good, contenantal, Indian and Chinese, but nothing out of this world.

Comfortable, vintage rooms and amenities. Very polite and cheerful staff. If you're expecting Royal services you won't get it here. They do tick all the right boxes on Tourist Nostalgia. Thank you Green Hotel for the "Feel at Home Experience".

Lovely ambience. A beautiful place to sit and relax. Good food too but it is over priced. If u want a relaxed lunch/dinner and dont mind spending for it, then this is the place.

The place is an oasis of peace and quiet beauty. I often stay a few nights here and always felt refreshed and recharged. The staff are courteous and efficient. The food is nice and often was customised to my liking. The interior of the palace is exquisitely decorated with refined taste. The cafe is quiet and the pastries are always fresh.

This is a hotel with a difference and the profits are ploughed back into the community. The cafe serves great snacks including various home made cakes. I did succumb to the Lemon Drissle cake. The restaurant is really good and value for money with a variety of cuisine, although I believe when in Rome etc (except for Lemon Drissle Cake). There are a variety of rooms all good but we were in main hotel and no air conditionning, but to be honest the climate in November did not need it as the nights were relatively cool and the days not too hot. The hotel has old world charm, is well looked after, with lovely gardens constantly planted. An outdoor optional dining area is charming where breakfast is served. The lobby is lovely and the carved woodwork great and the old building rooms full of charm — we stayed in a Bollywood room, but no mistaking this is not the InternContinental but something altogether more charming.

Really enjoyed the food and ambience. The candle light dinner we had was really great. The food was also tasty and affordable.
