This is the fourth resort of Club Mahindra that we visited. So far, in terms of location and beauty, it is amazing. However, there are some serious concerns as well. Location and Property: Amazing location. Few kilometers away from Madikeri. The road is hilly two lane without divider with no street lights. So, reaching there during day time is best unless you have a seasoned driver with you who knows the roads very well. The property is very well maintained in spite of all the odds of the terrain. There is coffee plantation inside the resort itself. Tonnes of greenery which almost looks like a forest. A lot of walking space inside the resort. The adventure zone is great with a variety of options in terms of activities. Rooms: All the buildings have some name based on a local berry like Lakoocha, Jojoba, Kokum etc. And are equipped with a kitchenette besides the double bed, sofa, bathroom and a balcony. The rooms are good and well maintained with good level of cleanliness. The towel art were amazing to see everyday. Staff and Service: The staff, in general in reception and housekeeping, is very good and helpful. They did a good job of ensuring that the stay was pleasant and that we face least problems. Our Holiday Consultant, Sachin Daviah, was very humble and gave a good tour of the resort, explaining things in very detail and suggesting options to move around in Madikeri. However, there were two instances where Club Mahindra staff became a nightmare for us. Jubin Joseph, the manager of the spa (Svaastha), started spamming my mailbox with his promotional emails a month before our schedules travel. Towards the end, few days before our travel, the frequency of the mail increased. I responded him asking to stop spamming my mailbox and also registered a complaint to Club Mahindra Member Relations but no action has been taken. Even after registering a complaint and telling him to stop, he did not stop doing that and kept spamming my mailbox. I could have blocked his mail ID but I didn't do it as I wanted to see how desperate he is going to get. In addition, the chef at the Gourmet Express has some ego issues and needs some training on taking feedback and talking with customers. The food, in general, was good. But once I got food poisoning in the night after having dinner. I had fever the next day. When we informed to the reception about this, they got the chef on line. However, instead of listening to us, he said that he had sent ten portions of the same meal the earlier day and no complaints were received so there cannot be anything wrong in the food and maybe I experienced it due to change in the weather (it was our fifth day in the resort) or something else. We tried to explain him that something may have gone wrong in that particular portion and that he should check his kitchen. However, he didn't budge and instead asked us if we want something and he won't charge for it. It is stupid to assume that people are there for free food after paying lakhs as membership fees for Club Mahindra. Food: The food, in general, was good. Planters Club is a great place to hang out and relax — be it a bright sunny day or a rainy day. For once, we had food at Coffee Blossoms and it was great. The waiter was very helpful in suggesting a local cuisine that one must try and it was a right suggestion. There is a grocery store inside the resort itself so that one doesn't need to go outside to buy things to make something in the kitchen. Overall, its a good place to go but one must be prepared for marketing bombarding and a rude chef.
