The Sherpas Abode

Stayed at Sherpa's Abode during last month. What a cordial reception!.
The stay is like a honeyed jack fruit arils. Utterly butterfly smooth and sweet. Entry and exit are like jack fruit spines especially for elders and slightly unclean.
However, this trivial difficulty disappears when you enter the Abode due to their personal touch and comfort level. Mr Sherpa can also organise travel plans and suitable vehicles which we did not try.

This is a nice homestay. Service was excellent. Specially Nima uncle is very kind person, who helped us in all aspects. He guided us from beginning to the end along with local tour. The food was superb. Overall I will recommend everyone to stay here to enjoy the Gangtok tour.

Sherpa’s Abode in Gangtok was one of the most heartwarming stays we’ve ever had. The home itself is cozy, spotless, and beautifully designed, with a breathtaking view from the balcony that makes you want to just sit and soak in the mountains for hours.
The real gem, though, is the owner—Uncle. He was incredibly friendly, loving, and treated us like family. His warmth made the stay unforgettable. He even called us after we checked out just to make sure we reached our next destination safely—such a rare and thoughtful gesture.
The food was another highlight—completely home-cooked, wholesome, and delicious. Breakfast usually had boiled eggs, bananas, and warm parathas—simple, filling, and made with love. One of our favorites at dinner was a unique dish made with sprouted fenugreek—so tasty and nourishing! The staff were also very polite and attentive, making sure we felt at home throughout.
If you're looking for peaceful vibes, great food, stunning views, and genuine hospitality, Sherpa’s Abode is the perfect spot. Can’t wait to go back!

We stayed for 2 days in Sherpa's Abode, it's more like visiting our another relative. The hospitality, food, rooms are all top class. With all these Pros only Cons we felt was, the access from road has 20-25 steps, for young and middle age it's not a issue. But for elderly, they find it difficult, we had 2 people 70+.
Other than this every thing was good. Will definitely recommend it, for the food and hospitality.

Sherpa's Abode, Gangtok:
Me and my wife stayed at this property for almost a week, around end March-2025. The room was very comfortable, clean and with all the facilities and a strong Wi-Fi. A big attached balcony led to a breathtaking view of the valley. The Host couple, who are the owners are highly hospitable, caring. A variety of hot, home cooked food they served was tasty and yummy. And it was nit heavy on the pockt. All in all it was a memorable stay.

Sherpa Abode is by far the best place to stay in Gangtok. Nima Uncle is an amazing host, always ready to guide you and take care of everything as if you were his own. Chunki Aunty’s cooking is on another level – once you try her food, you’ll never want to eat anywhere else!
The view from the balcony is breathtaking and worth every moment. It adds so much charm to the whole experience.
Our stay was incredibly comfortable, and we absolutely adored the homestay. Both Uncle Nima and Aunty Chunki are truly kind-hearted people, and their hospitality made our trip even more special. We’ll definitely choose to stay here again whenever we visit Sikkim.

Staying at Sherpa's Abode was a truly heartwarming experience. Uncle, Aunty, and the entire staff welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of their family. Aunty's food was hands down the best we've had during our trip—every meal was cooked with so much love and care.
Their adorable dogs, Shelly and Caesar, added to the charm of our stay. They were incredibly friendly and made us feel even more at home.

They are a family. Such a gentle behaviour. They are service oriented people. No greed for money. They have link with the local drivers. The owner took care of my day trip. I should definitely mention about their food, which is out of the world. Must try chicken curry for dinner and must try paratha for breakfast. Ask for heaters if you want. They give it for an extra cost. Overall, it was a fantastic place to be present at.

This is the best homestay in Gangtok and one of the best in India. Mr. Sherpa's family treated us like their own family. Food prepared by auntie was delicious. Service was excellent and rooms were spotless clean. Must try is chicken curry and rice and the home prepared chutneys. Looking forward to come back next month again.

This Homestay offered me everything I could ask for and beyond to make my Anniversary special. Located on the way to Nathula pass, Changu lake, walking distance from Ganesh Tok and 10 mins away the MG Marg offers the most scenic view from the balcony and the view of Kanchenjanga from the terrace with extremely comfortable rooms, but the best part about this homestay are the owner and staff filled with warmth, the owner Uncle is the best guide and offers best suggestions regarding the trip and Aunty make the best food with local touch which will remind you of home, after eating out the whole day you will love it. They made special arrangements to make our 2nd Anniversary special, they got us cake, special wine bottles, lights and even performed small traditional ceremony, we were touched to the core by the warmth and love. Spoke to other guests also from foreigners to Indian guests they had the same experience, you can try the special Millet wine locally prepared with owner aunty's culinary touch to it (must try). We couldn't help but extend our stay here with these kind and loving people, while checking out from the homestay with heavy heart in the morning 4 am the owners made sure to see us off that early and didn't let us go without a hot cup of tea and even offered breakfast that early. This place is a must stay if you are visiting Sikkim (Gangtok). Highly recommended.

Food, hygiene, spacious rooms, generous, friendly nature—most importantly, every single one is so helpful, feels like home completely. The best option in the whole Gangtok.
